Male, 20. I had a Skin Tag located in my arm pit for a number of years before it thrombosed and fell away from the skin. However a couple of months afterwards, I recently have found a small lump under my skin, from where the skin tag used to exist. The lump is painful to touch at the moment. Should I be concerned?

I would have it checked into regardless of what was there previously or not...

I have a lump that isn't above the skin but under the skin and is about the size of a pea. It looks red above the skin but you can actually see a 'lump" unless you put your fingers either side a squeeze or press down on it. Does anyone have any answers for me? I'm only 14 and can find anything useful anywhere , I have never had sex or sexual contact , I have not started my period also just to help you

i have the same but there was a lot of swelling around the lump and it burst. i dont want to go to the doctor so if anyone can help?

It sounds like a swollen gland or an infected poor. Sometimes in that area you will get moisture and discharge that can plug a poor and over time get bigger and harder like a pimple or even more like a cyst. Try soaking in a tub of hot water and epsom salt and try to work the lump out (like popping a zit) If not then go to the obgyn and have it checked.

I am 18 years old and have had a small lump in the top of my armpit for a few months now. I'm really scared about what it could be, although other than the lump there are no other symptoms. the lump feels fairly soft, like a sort of fleshy lump and can be got hold of-it feels like its in the skin or just under it but im terrified. it can be quite tender. please tell me its nothing bad?

I'm 23 and I had a small lump come up on the under side of my shaft. It's small hard flesh coloured lump that seems like it is only attached to my skin, there is only a slight redness to the lump. The lump appeared after intercourse a few days ago. Any advice before I go to the doctors?

I think I have 2 cysts on the back of my head. They are fairly small and it feels as if there is a lump underneath the skin. This 'lump' seems as if it moves, under the skin, as well. Is this a cyst? And do I need to be worried?

I've had 4 of these cysts over the years on various parts of my head. They varied in size because sometimes i waited too long to go and have them removed. I always left them alone until they become unsightly or hard to hide. They can be removed by your GP at your local surgery. Doctor will numb the area, (you'll feel a slight scratch)remove the cyst and put it in a jar to be sent for tests. You will feel him/her tugging around the area. But, you will feel no pain what so ever. Depending on the size, you'll get one or two stitches which will be taken out within a week. The area will feel tender for about another week. After that, you'll forget you ever had them. Hope this is of some help to you. Goodluck.

Hi! I had a cyst and to me it sounds like you do too! I wouldn't be worried unless it gets infected or affects your life e.g. self conciousness.

I'm 14 and I have never had sex and I found a lump on the lip of my vagina I also have some kind of thrush like symptoms which is red, itchy, swollen, inflamed skin. The lump doesn't have a colour but I can feel it under the skin, it is about the size of a pea. Any help?

I also had this I was petrified the lump was really hard it didn't look right and it started to get bigger and I could feel it I went to the dr and it was just a pulled hair my lump was hard and I could hold it between my fingers

I had a small lump appear right next to my anus & I could feel & hear liquid moving around just under the skin, this then went painful. After a few days it must of popped & some clear/yellowish liquid came out & the pain / lump slowly vanished but still felt a little tender. After a few more days everything was fine but the lump was still there but smaller, I have now felt the liquid moving round again where the lump is under the skin & up to now there is no pain. Any ideas?

I have a small lump on the side of my nose. It's not like a wart I used to have on my finger which was rough and like skin I could pick off. This is skin coloured and totally smooth and at the beginning when I was able to pick it off, it bled a huge amount and wouldn't stop for a few hours. Now it is more like a piece of me than an extraneous lump. The skin around it seems to grown up to it and it is almost impossible to cover with make up as it is shows up as being slightly red. I hate it a lot and have no idea if it is a mole or a wart or just some sort of random lump. I've read about radiosurgery but I wouldnt want to do that if there was a chance it could grow back...and I don't even know what it is. Two docs just told me it was harmless and ignore. Another told me it would go away on its own...I want it to go now :(

i had to look again when i read your post, i could have written it word for word! you describe the exact same thing i have on the side of my nose, with very similar response from my GP, i was told not to worry and to use a moisturizer! even though i expressed concern over it being a wart. mine has just come back yet again, am considering seeing a skin specialist.

Hi, I have severe pins and needles and my right arm keeps going numb, that's since Feb. I have also now got a lump in the right up on the inner part of the elbow, and there is a strange indentation line which radiates up from the lump and the skin on the side of the lump is going all dimpled. GP has suggested seeing a neuro surg for a nerve test. GP hasn't seen lump yet though. I measured the width of the arm and it is half an inih bogger than the other one probably due to the lump. Does this sound like a nerve thing to you?

I am 37 years of age and have had what I would call a skin tag on my back since my teens - When I reached my twenties the tag grew and became a large lump hanging from a cord (the lump is quite large, I would say the same size as a 10p and flat in shape with a rough texture) Most of the time I forget that it is there as I do not feel any pain from it - but it is embarrasing when I take my top off, so I tend not to go swimming on holiday. The lump also swells up when exposed to the sun. Would this be a skin tag or something more severe ?

I have a lump on the left side of my vagina underneath the skin its quite hard and is very sore and irritable, i made a small incision on the skin where the lump is and squeezed it and pus and blood came out of it and im scared to tell anyone or ask friend/family what it could be please help!!

it depends what the lump is, if its a keloid scar then chances are that it isnt going to fade. its possible to tattoo over scar tissue but you need a skillful artist - ask to see examples of their work on similar skin. if its a dot then you could probably come up with some kind of design that incorporates it so that you're putting minimal ink over it. if the lump is under the skin and you cant see it, only feel it through the skin then you're fine to tattoo over it as is.

Hello... I have a massive spot like lump on my inner thigh, next to vagina. I have had it 2 days and it is painfull and a big lump under the skin that feels hard, I have just irritated it and it kinda popped and lots of yellowish white push came out, but it still feels like a big hard lump under the skin. It hurts and I am really scared! I have had a couple of these recently in the same area but none were as big or painfull as this. I do regularly get waxed down there so i have read that this could be the cause but i am terrified it could be some sort of std? PLEASE HELP! Sara x

If you're worried about STDs go to your doctor but it sounds like an ingrown hair. If you are getting waxed make sure you're exfoliating and mosturizing lots. Also you can buy tend skin which has really helped me. (I don't work for them but that's whats helped me) For any spots like that I keep squeezing and popping with a pin til the hair comes out, or they just keep coming back. I've put loads more in response to Naomi in case you want to know anything else I've tried :)

The past few days I've noticed a tiny lump on the right side of my penis under the skin. My penis has always slightly curved to the left near the end but since this lump appeared near the start of my penis, there's a very profound 'bentness' that starts right were the lump is. Any idea what it is?

Dave if the bending continues, I would be seeking medical advice.. 10 mins of embarrassment (which it is not, I can assure you, as to Doctors it is all repetition, day after day) will take a mountain of worry off your shoulders.. Their is a medical condition where a mans penis becomes bent, some to a nonfunctional degree..we are not saying this is the case here, but a check up wont go astray when any part of your body, does something different..

Hi, I've had this before. I had a lump similar to the one you are describing. I think it's to do with the body trying to repair itself, usually when you have a cold and should be gone within a couple of weeks, if it doesn't go away you should see a doctor and they will be able to confirm what it is

Hi, I have recently found a small lump just above my tailbone which sometimes causes pain when I sit down. On inspection I have found a prominant lump when I stretch the skin, and there are what look like two small puncture holes, one bigger than the other. I'm thinking it may be a small boil, but there doesn't appear to be a whitehead, and there isn't any reddening of the skin. I am going to see my GP asap, but if someone could tell me what it is that would put my mind at ease :)
