I get this too, mainly it occurs when I haven't shaved my legs and the hair is beginning to gorw back, I get the scars too and eventualy they do fade :) Try the nivea soft (the one in the white tub) it alleviates the itching a little.

I have had constant itchy lower legs with what I think is heat lumps , this has been going on for just over a year. it's red and my lower legs are now quite scarred, the lumps are usually red, raised and sometimes quite firm with dry scaly skin from scarring and constant scratching. I've used so many different creams from different antihistamine creams and antibacterial cream and camaline lotion for chicken pox nothing has worked so far , I've been to the doctors and haven't even asked to look at my legs , they've just given me strong antihistamine tablets , I know I've only been taking them for a week but I've seen no improvement, some one please help me I can't take it anymore!!!does anyone know what this may be??

I started itching with a rash of small red lumps on my arms around 6 months ago. The itching was so intense i would scratch till the lumps would bleed consequently leading to scabs which i would also scratch off with more bleeding. This has now progressed all over my body from the neck down. I must have hundreds of lumps. Like yourself i have used countless creams and antihistamines to no avail. I even treated myself for scabies in desperation ! About a month ago after a referral to a dermatologist i finally had a skin biopsy and some blood tests. i have now recieved the results confirming a condition called Nodular Prurigo. The cause is unknown. I am due to start UVB treatment on Monday. This is the only thing known to help. I hope this works because if it doesn't i will go out of my mind !

Do you have varicose veins? If the itching is on your lower limbs it could be varicose eczema. A low dose steroid is good for specific areas and compression hosiery can help.

I started getting lumps in odd places regularly a few years ago, finally told about 4 weeks ago that it's HS, along with lumps in my groin, right arm pit, tops of my legs and bottom I also get them around my eyebrows. Does anyone else get this? What do people find the best for hair removal? At the same time I also started getting a type of eczema on my feet and hands which I think is called pompholyx, does anyone else get both and if so have you been told the conditions are related? I have been on oxytetracycline for ages now, the lumps don't last quite so long but I am still getting a lot of them.

I'm 18 years of age and had a baby nearly 5 months ago, I started getting lumps on my legs, bum and vaginal area and I got told they are just hormonal and when I gave birth my midwife asked me if I had any questions and I asked her what these little lumps was and she said it was possibly Genital Warts or something? But my boyfriend don't have anything on him so I'm really confused and need help. Thankyou.

cysts cant be solved by washing - you have to have them removed by a doctor. if they're ingrowing hairs on the other hand or irritation around the follicles you can treat them with creams. it could also be that the stuff you're using to wash with is irritating the skin - it can certainly cause thrush. go and see your GP if you're worried yeah?

Hi, Just completed a self check, I am 20 years old and have discovered multiple lumps within my breast, my mothers side has a history of cysts, but they arent painful and range from small pebble like lumps to ping pong sized ones, with one feeling like its two in one. last scan i had was when i was 17 and the doctor sent me for an ultrasound, they came up as benign lumps, there was only one then, now theres 6 - 8 lumps. is it worth seeing my gp over?

i hae been gettin boil like lumps at the top of my legs and groin area for about 6 months now, i have looked for solutions over the internet and have just been told that bathing in warm water can help reduce swelling and relieve the pain. However, the lumps have been getting more painful, and the pus that leaks from them is disgustingly thick, smelly and a yellowy/ green colour! Im too embarrassed to visit the doctor, is there any home remedies that can stop these lumps from appearing in the first place? help!

I am 19, ive had HS as long as i can remember, probably since i was about 11/12.it started off with a few boil/lumps in my groins and on my legs. then gradually spread to my arms, under my breasts and now i get them on the top of my legs and also my belly. ive had surgery on Both of my arms, and had trouble with them healing. i had to go to the doctors every day for 16weeks too have a hole 6cm deep packed. i have had some of my lumps as big as a tennis balls underneath my skin, which stopped me from even walking. ive been under a dermatolagist for 4 years, and ive had every antibiotic under the sun. Also ive had Retinoids too,as well as my surgery. nothing seems too work. Is there anything anyone could reccomend? As some of the conditions that other people describe dont sound as severe as mine? thanks x

Hi I started with HS when I was 19 and like the previous case tried every antibiotic both oral and topical. My GP didn't have a clue so for 7 years I had this condition with no reason or even a name. Then in 1996 went to a plastic surgeon to have the excessive scars grafted, I must admit I was so fed up I didn't care any more. He sat with me for 30 seconds and told me what I had and that nothing would work but total removal of the axillar tissue of both arms. I had this done and then 3 years later removal of 50% of my breast tissue and then removal of groin tissue from both sides. I then started to develop large cysts on my head and neck. I had numerous infections, including several cases of MRSA. I continued to suffer but in 2010 I underwent chemo for breast cancer. I noticed my HS was receeding after the first chemo treatment. I only had 2 treatments before I had to stop due to poor health but I have thankfully not had a flare up since then. My dermatologist was very excited by the case and thought it may be a treatment for severe cases. Anyone with severe HS will try anything, I know I did, including some non medical options. If I had been told back in 1996 when my condition was finally giving it's name, chemo might work I would have tried it and as now been saved alot of pain and misery. I hope this helps and don't give up or feel embarrassed as this is not our fault.

I'm 5ft 3 I weigh about 8.5 st, I'm thin from waist up my legs are chunky and around my knee caps its all fatty I say I have four knees, I've tried exercise but can't shift it. And I have lumps of fat around top of my thighs to. Any advise would be very welcome as I hate my legs.

They're all over: belly, bum, thighs, legs and I'm very self concious about this I feel like I can't wear anything short or to show my legs for the rest of my life, I need some advice thanks..

I have stretch marks too, I used to be very self conscious about them, you can buy a number of creams or oils which do reduce the redness of them and help them to fade, I'd try these.

the rashes are like hive lumps, i mostly put coconut oil on it to help it go down a bit and it works but it keeps coming back mostly everyday now :( they appear on my legs and arms and when worst comes to worst- on my face and neck but theyre not EXTREMELY bad just small lumps everywhere

I have just come back from doctors finally plucking up the courage to see some one I have sever ingrowing hairs on my legs and it is really painful. Not being able to wear shorts skirts dresses or take my kids swimming I now have a very bad depression about my legs. I was told by my doctor they would not send me to a dermatologist because it's cosmetic and they making cuts. I was left in tears because that was my final hope. Thanks NHS I now have to live with horrible painful lumps all over my legs. I couldnt be more distraught by the lack of help.

I experience the same and was given an antibiotic but it did nothing. Really at wits end had this problem 10yrs + good luck!

Try a product called Skin Doctors Ingrow Go.. costs about £11 from boots and works really well!

I am so glad that I have found that other people have this condition! I was starting to worry, and was a bit embarrassed to go to the doctors because my lumps are between my legs. They come now and again and are so painful that it hurts to walk and cross my legs etc. From reading the comments it looks like there isn't a cure available? That's such a shame as it looks like a lot of people are suffering.

Hi. I'm 16 and for the past few years I've been having these lumps appearing on my vagina and the parts of my legs that's next to my vagina. These lumps are hard and very sore to touch. Recently they've been so big and sore it hurts to walk. The last time I had one my mum took me to my Gp and she said that it could be due to the fact that I have a low white blood cell count, but no more steps have been taken. What should I do?
