    Sweaty Palms

Hyperhidrosis can affect any part of the body where there are sweat glands, but it is on the palms of the hands that it can prove particularly embarrassing. Read more →

i am 13 years old and i sweat loads all over my body, an example is when i stand up after sitting down there is a massive sweat pool/line left on the chair, i also get massive sweat patches covering half of my t-shirt. However, my hands cause such a problem, sweat literally drips off my palms and i can't hold paper for more than 5 mins because the paper begins to disintergrate, i refuse to let anyone see or touch my hands and my pen always slides out of my hand, if i put my hand on a table for just a few seconds i leave a large pool of sweat on the table. My hands also always feel cold, at the best of times my hands are moist however for the large majority of the time they are dripping. Please let me know what over the counter things i can get to help, as it is a very embarresing and annoying issue for me :(

Speaking from experience it is unlikely you have a long term medical problem given that it has only started one year ago. Speak to the doctor about the Iontopheresis treatment it sounds more appropriate. Mind you after the treatment the saliva in your mouth dries up so I would recommend some oily foods to eat.

Im EXACTLY the same, i get sweaty hands feet and armpits! i went to the ddoctors and they also gave me a rolling thing to roll over my hands, when i put it on my hands dry up but they go all wrinkly and dont stay dry for that long! when i have to do dancing with boys in P.E its embaressing because i have to explain the problem! PLEASE can someone help me find a cure for this, i hate it and i dont want to have it for any longer! :(

I have been informed of my having Dupuytren`s Contracture by my GP (2012), in both hands this giving me three years in which I`d lose use of both hands. Two others in the family (both Females)also have this condition. My question yet unanswered by anybody is: Why are my hands/fingers being effected in the exact opposite to that of Dupuytren`s? I am unable to bend my fingers so Why is this so, and is it possible that my hands are being effected by two conditions at the same time the second being Carpel Tunnel Syndrome? If so, what treatments are available and what are the prospects of regaining full use of my fingers?

Hi, I am 26 and I have peeling skin in and around the inner labia of my vagina, around the clitoris, and the clitoris. This has been occurring for the past two months-ish, and recently every two to four days all the skin peels in one go everytime - its not small areas - the whole area peels in moist clumps. The area is not hot, dry, itchy, smelly or sore. The peeled skin is not dry, just moist with the general environment. It appears to have a cycle: 1st day area looks normal, 2nd day area starts to look pasty white, 3rd/4th day area looks all pasty as skin starts to remove itself and then peels off in clumps, once peeled skin looks back to normal and the cycle starts straight away again. Its embarrassing when I am with my partner. Please help, thank you

I've had psoriasis for two hears now (I'm 18) and have it on both palms of my hands, when it gets really bad (splitting and bleeding) I use aquacream (kimda looks like lard lol) I slap aload of that on and then wrapp my hands in a bandage and leave it on over night and it kind of helps as it keeps it moist instead of dry, other than that I use steorid cream, hope this helps

I suffer from pustular psoriasis which affect mainly my hands and feet but can affect other areas too such as head, ears and pubic area. It is very painful and when it is at it's worse I can only walk on tiptoes on the ball of my big toe. It does come in flare ups and I can have times where I am free of it completely but my feet are affected at the moment. It starts with little pus filled blisters which then pop and dry out.the blisters all join together and once all popped leave thick, flaky, painful, cracked skin. I just plaster coal tar or other moistening creams on and then overnight put my hands and feet in plastic bags to keep the areas moist as if they dry out it makes using my hands and feet impossible. When I was 17 I had UVB treatment but it doped not help me at all

I have looked on the internet to see if there is a remedy but to no avail. My partner is very understanding but it does effect stimulation for both of us.I hope that the EB Gp's can suggest something.

    I have that Aswell!

Perfectly normal , I am a 22 yr old and have these too and was worried more at a young age , PPP these are called short for (pearly penile Papules).Tiny white glands that produce a moist texture to keep the foreskin or head of the penis moist. You can get them removed but would advise not too because they're perfectly normal :) hope this helped.

Hi, As a fellow adult sufferer who has it on the inside of my hands, I have found nothing in 14 years that has got rid of it. However eurax stops the itching. Keeping it moist stops cracking when it is really dry. I use a combo of protopic when its really bad but because its greasy I use it at night. I found udder cream "Smooth Cream" better than most creams and recently use olitum cleanser as a soother for my hands (and body ) At work (stressful hospital dept) I have used a variety of hand creams all to no real avail. My latest is Aveeno body lotion. It may not have gone but its more comfortable. I believe its cyclic in nature. Getting worse then getting better. Going through the menopause has changed it too. Contact the ecxema associations and natural home remedies found on google for advice Good luck.

I have been to the doctors and have a 10mm hole. He gave me some naseptin nasal cream (told me to use it about 3 times a week) to keep the hole infection free and also use Vaseline as often as required to keep the area moist while the edge heals. I find keeping it moist definitely helps but i have no idea how long it will take for the edges to heal does anyone know? I live in the UK and wouldn't mind surgery but no idea where to start looking for that option No real symptoms other than occasional whistling

The doctor said that I might out grow it. I,m 20 yrs old now and still take the medication. It has worked wonders!!

Samuel, your teacher is certainly not educated!! and rude to boot.. Anxiety, keep it in check it makes it worst. Your condition is very very very prevelant. Go and talk to a Dermitologist and get a better understanding of why this is happening and the options to suit you. The water treatment with electric currents, but recently they have been placing a drug into the water and finding it gives a far better result than the original way. Try Dri Chlor over the counter specialized roll on product for the hands. Applied at night prior to be, then place some gloves on or cotton socks over your hands. Do this 3 or 4 nights straight. Sorbeline with glisterne if it gets to dry during day, as you dont want to crack your skin. Your feet, but NIVEA SILVER ION antipersperate and spray and let dry on your feet. Its is the silver in it that what stops it. Samuel, dont be embarrassed about shaking hands, just say politely you rather not and tell them why and be light hearted about it. It is not the 18 century anymore, people are more open, knowledgeable (except your teacher, cant get over that, sorry) and accepting of the differences between us. We dont hide people away anymore. Samuel get up and out and SHINE.

I have suffered from severe sweating on my hands since I can remember and I never knew there was an actual disorder until watching the programme! I just thought it was something I had an would just have to deal with. My hands are like the womans on the programme, like they get severly wet that sometimes it is dripping off my hands. I find it embarrasing going to the shops and handing over money because the money is always wet and if people ever accidently touch my hands they always say how gross it is! I am always hiding my hands away and if i am ever in a situation where i have to touch someones hands I start to panick which makes them sweat worse! I really, really would like a solution to this! Has anyone had the surgery? How did it go for you?

Just like yourself, i had always suffered from sweating on the palms. It became an increasing problem when i went to high school, so i went to my doctor who referred me to a dermatologist. I went through Iontophoresis treatment which wasnt successful and i found it quite painful. Eventually, after trying various gels and creams i was told i could get the operation. In december i had the operation for the right hand, all went well so in january i had the operation for the left hand. A few days after the surgery, my left hand felt clammy, but i phoned the surgeon and he informed me that this could happen but it would soon dry up, and the next day my hand was dry. So i am really pleased with the results and my advise would be to not give up trying to get the right treatment for you. If one treatment fails, theres other treatments out there, dont suffer. My confidence has increased and i can now do a lot more things without worrying about sweating!

Hi, I am 16 years old, and I always have cold hands. I am 14 yrs old and I have noticed that from the age of 6 I have had really cold hands. My hand are always a deep red colour. In cold places my hands turn blue, like when i'm outside. My hands, in winter, swell up and then i can't even curl my hands up into a fist. I am very worried and not sure what to do. Do i have Raynaud’s Syndrome or is it somehting else?

It sounds like you do have Raynaud's. i'm 25 and have had the same problem for years where i can't even bend my fingers as it hurts so much. Went to the doctors and was told not alot can be done for Raynaud's, but best thing is to try and keep them warm. try not to worry, so many people suffer from this.

I am 40 an have enlarged labia. I have to be honest and tell you, there is nothing good about it at all. I always have a moist feeling down there, when jeans rub against it, it becomes moist or sweaty. Very uncomfortable. As a result, there was always a smell that was difficult to hide. When I was a kid, and ran or swam, it literally flopped around and you could feel it. Very uncomfortable. It is very obvious when you wear a bathing suit, i was made fun of as a child because people thought I was a boy, because it looked like there was something there etc. Because of the surface area and moisture, I am prone to sebaceous cysts, which are basically pimples. But they hurt, last for weeks and are usually filled with puss. I get several per year and it stinks. Getting the surgery for it was always in the back of my mind.

I was born with freezing cold hands. When I'm in temperatures that are at least around 20 degrees my hands look like I walked out a freezer. If the temperature is any lower than 10 degrees my hands turn purple/blue and have orange patches on top. The bad thing about this is in summer when my friends use my hands as ice packs
