I was diagnosed with Behcet's disease in 2010 when I was 14 years old. It began with severe mouth ulcers and all the other symptoms shortly followed. However, this site says that there is a regular occurrence in mouth ulcers for Behcet's sufferers but I have not had a flare up for 4 years now. No more ulcers since that dreaded time in 2010. Is this also common? Fingers crossed it will carry on this way!
I went almost years without a break from oral lesions.. At that point I was diagnosed and the doctors started to try different medicines... I was put on steroids and it stopped the oral lesions almost completely... Could medicine be the reason for you not having them? Also, stress is a huge trigger, maybe you have been less stressed?
HI!!! I know that ulcers on the walls of our mouth and on our tongues are very common like stated above, however, i suffer from them quite frequently, causing me alot of discomfort. So I would like to know if there is anything that causes me to have such frequent ulcers. thanks
Hi, I have recently given up smoking, again, heres my problem - I have no need or craving for cigarettes however I have lots and I mean lots of mouth ulcers all the time on my tongle, gums, lips, mouth areas. I gave up smoking about 10 years ago and suffered the same symptons so after 3 years of it I started smoking and hey presto - no ulcers!! Any help would be gratefully recieved as I don't know how much longer I can put up with the pain and discomfort for me and other people around me!!!
Im 26 years old, a female and have suffered with mouth ulcers since i can remember but as im getting older they seem to be getting worse each time. At the moment i have two together on my top lip pervious to this i have two on my bottom lip - in total ive had them for 7 weeks! and Its really getting me down because theres nothing i can have to help. They are huge and leave holes on my mouth where they are so big! They are so painful!! Im in contast pain all day. I always feel thristy. But everything i eat and drink hurts. Ive been to the doctors so many times tried every tablet, cream, gel they have over the counter and in shops ive even had a steriod pump...recommened by my doctor but nothing seems to help. Please please can any help me either treat my ulcers or know of a way i can releave the pain. Thank you.
I am a 32 year old women who suffers greatly from mouth ulcers. I have had them from late teens and dont remember a time in my life i didnt have them. There is no ryhme or reason when getting them, i get 1 or 2 then 24 hours later i have up to 8 or 9 anywhere in my mouth. They are extremly big and can last up to 3 weeks at any one time. I have been to my doctors and my dentist and both refered me to the dental hospital. They took blood and over the corse of 2 visits i was told that it was in my genes and part of my "make up" and just put up with it!!!! When they are at there worst i cant eat or speak as the pain is so incredible and due to this i get very upset and feel very low. I have tried everything from gels, pastes, mouthwash, tablets, pastels over the counter, and also herbal remedies and nothing has ever worked. I have also cut things out of diet eg: Cinnamon, Citrus, etc but to no avail. Iam desperate for someone to please please help me. i have also sent a video of the ulcers in my mouth.
Due to another problem I have, I cut out wheat, and gluton from my diet, and began to suffer with persitent mouth, and tonuge ulcers, also a sore throat. My GP tested me for various things, but with no definite conclusion! A friend passed me an magazine article, which suggested taking a vitamin'B' supplement, or eating oats in the form of porridge, they being high in vitamin'B'. The items I had cut back on contained high portions of vitamin'B'. Within 48hrs. of increasing my vitamin'B'intake all the ulcers had disappeared, and have not returned, although I still have a sore throat! What really bothers me is that my G.P.does not appear to look outside the box, and seems to rely entirely on the results of lab. tests, when clearly they are not always right, discounting any such cures, as I have experienced!!! Suggest try the vit.'B'cure you have nothing too loose!
Hi there, I wonder if anyone can give me some answers as to my mouth ulcers. Had them now for over 6 weeks, they are recurring, and even recurred after I was given a prescription - once the prescription (dissolved tablet in water and use as mouthwash) ran out, ulcers came straight back. I seem to always have at least 3, mostly on my tongue, if they go away it takes at least a week but either it will come back or more will appear. They constantly hurt, as does the back of my throat. Hurts to eat, drink, lick round my mouth to clear food and basically do anything. I don't eat chocolate or tomatoes any more as they hurt my mouth too much, as well as other foods, and maintain a good level of oral hygiene. In summary, the prescription as well as mouthwashes (standard and corsodyl), gels, sprays do not work. This is really getting me down. Any help appreciated as it's impossible to get a doctor's appointment.
Hi, have you tried to see if you are sensitive to any food, drink or toothpaste? Do you take regular tablets? Use anything regular? Make lists of what you do daily, then stop one if them for a few days and see if they get better, good luck.

I am 17 years old, I've only had sex with 1 person, my boyfriend, and deffinatly know he doesn't have any STI's but just recently I noticed these ulcers down below like mouth ulcers and am very worried whether it is herpes or not. I've got an appointment next Wednesday but worried that by then it will all be gone and then they'll say to wait and come again next time. They are very painful and hurts when i walk, get up and sit down. any help? or advice?
I'm am also 17, have only slept with one boy (who I have now been with for two years) and was unlucky enough to have the same problem. Mine did turn out to be herpes, and I was told that it was likely my boyfriend had got it from previous sexual relationships in the past, but hadn't shown any symptoms. It is very painful, and not a nice experience especially when you don't deserve such rubbish luck, but the symptoms quickly go once you take the course of pills. As sorry as I am for you, it makes me feel a lot better to know I'm not alone with this.. hope it's the same for you.
