I have been refereed to the hospital recently. And the doctor I had examined my bones and ligament movement. He came to the conclusion that I have hyper mobility, and my ligaments are long and stringy rather than 'short and fat' But I also have problems with my bones, and especially my hips. Sometimes it can be so painful I cannot walk properly, I also have problems with my fingers, and I can dislocate my jaw & wrist. I have to start have physiotherapy on my bones to learn how to live with the pain. Would there be any possible drugs/medication i could take to help this? That I could pick up from a drug store. Thank you.

Everytime I have a bowel movement I get a really itchy bum. This has been going on for about 8 months and is getting me down. I'm 42 and have visited the doctor end of last year who said he could not see anything wrong and prescribed me with Daktacort cream which did nothing. The only thing that helps is hemroid cream. Having a shower after a bowel movement helps but this is not always possible. Occasionally I can feel a slight discharge. Can anyone help.

I'll say this again (see below). It worked for me. Saturate the area with vinegar three times a day (try and use distilled malt vinegar, sold in most british supermarkets and corner shops). Stop using soaps, and medicated creams. Soap is too alkaline, and creams stop the good skin flaura from regaining a hold. You will notice it working after one day, and it will take about one-three weeks for the problem to become minimal. Don't shower with soap. Shower with a sponge soaked in vinegar and then finish with plain warm water. You won't smell of vinegar. Then dry off, and then saturate the affected area with vinegar and let it evaporate naturally. It worked for me.

Hi Paul, you will see from some off my replies on this page, I suffered for years in silence and tried lots of creams and tried Daktacort cream also, same as you, waste of time, But bathing in vinegar sounds medieval to me. When you can buy a good range of Sanex for skin conditions. I also have sensitive skin as well. I use this range and have no problems with it. but please read other comments reference itching. Its embarrassing, upsetting and life controlling.

my breath smells like my bowel movement it changes depending n what the bowel movement smells like. Diary products trigger it off so i try to stay well clear of those food products. It progressively been getting worse and i have had for nearly 2 years i cant think of what could have started it and i'm only 18. I know for sure its not coming form my mouth or throat as I have got checked numerous times. My doctors are lost and I am getting really tired of seeing them. I would rather go to hospital and have a series of test done. Any advice would be helpful!

I have always only opened my bowels 1-2 times per week since I was a child (I am now 37, female), but in the past few years I have become feeling really backed up and uncomfortable inbetween bowel movements, with my upper abdomen distending and feeling very solid. When the urge to have a bowel movement finally comes, I do not have to strain to pass the faeces and they are mid brown in colour and reasonably soft and continuous like faeces should be. However, they are often 3 inches in diameter and 10 inches long - ie huge! I have come to expect that I will block the loo regulalrly and sometimes try "nipping it off" half way through, and flushing after one lump and certainly between faeces and putting toilet paper down the toilet to try to prevent this. After such a bowel movement I feel very light and empty, and stretched, although I know I do not tear the anus as there is no blood spotting. However, surely this is not normal? Is there anything I can do to help make me more regular? My GP has suggested I have "sluggish bowel" and that I'll just have to live with it as there is no cure. He has prescribed lactulose to try to stimulate peristalsis, but this doesn't seem to have any effect (and is expensive at £5 a week). I eat a balanced diet and have always eaten plenty of fruit and veg. I am also on an anti-depressant called Sertraline 50mg daily, however this doesn't seem to be the cause as when I have been off these for many months, my bowel movements are the same as when I am on them. I find it is worse on the run-up to starting my period, with sometimes a whole week without a bowel movement before finally going one the day I start menstruating. Please have you any suggestions to improve my bowel movement frequency and abdominal discomfort.

hi im lucky if i go twice a week. im not in good health tho and on alot of medication. Ive also started getting severe cramping pains and only thing to relieve it is to sit on loo. anyways, in answer to your question i find that by clenching your fist then firmly massaging your outer bowels helps the stools to move as well as taking 10mg of LACTULOSE SOLUTION before going to sleep helps soften the stools overnight ready for next day. sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesnt as everyone is different. ive also faound ( it might wirk for you too ) drinking 1 pint of water an hr before sleep and eating 6 dried prunes and 6 dried apricots. if all above fails,be persistant but polite to your general practitioner to sort it out,after-all.. thats theur job !

I too take 50 mg aday of zoloft for depression and anxiety i have bad case of it but this remember effects our levels in bathroom too if i panic or stress out our digest system becomes slow divesting food and can resort in mikd constipation but i eat activia yogurt raisin brand bf veges loads water prune juice is daily salads chicken fish i try stay on a ok eating i also suffer from greds diease reflux i take pevicaid daily i just truly started eating solids again cause of my throat issue but this morning i took movement it wascsoft then i felt not emptt so i checked with my finger i had semi hard pellets stuck so i used a kil bit warm water enema and tryed getting restcout so i belive it helped i also only do this if absolute ness suppositories i hear help my doctor said use metamucil but ill wait cause if u dont drink water tons wit it boy u get worse constipation crazy i know bur i pray too and jesus hears us hope we get well asap in jesus name amen

I suffer from severe bloating. I would have a lot of gas but don't have any problems with going to the toilet. No diarrhoea or constipation. I have quite normal bowel movement. However my doctor give me tablets for ibs. How can he know I have ibs with no test and only symptom is bloating ? The tablets didn't work and It's getting really annoying . I'm constantly getting asked if I'm pregnant and feel like my stomach is going to explode it gets that big and hard and really uncomfortable . It gets worst with certain foods like bread or alcohol. I just wish I could find out what the problem was as my doctor said there's nothing more they can do which is I know is not true

Hi, this just really reminded me of what I felt like before I cut dairy and wheat out of my diet. Dairy, I can eat in small amounts, but everytime I go near wheat, my stomach is so bloated it feels as if something has grown inside, and if I press it, i can feel myself pushing all the air around and it gurgles so much everyone nearby can hear. Perhaps your intolerant to something? maybe keep a food diary, is the alcohol beer? I cannot drink beer or eat bread as exactly that happens to me. Perhaps its sulphates? I have a colleague who has a similar reaction to anything with them in. It probably is a case if finding what triggers it and cutting these down or out of your diet.

I have suffered most my life with extreme anxiety and toilet problems but have always been to embarrassed to seek any help, but now it is controlling me and my life and as i am only 20 i want to enjoy it whilst i still can. my bowl movement has always been eractic, so much so that i can not remember the last time i had a normal 'poo' i leave the house thinking about when my next time may be and if im going to get caught out without a toilet, it is sometimes so extreme i will choose to stay in my own home just incase. i will never complete a meal in fear of having to go soon after even though i always need to go after a few mouthfuls anyway.there isnt always pain but when there is i have to go instantly sometimes it has been to late! can anyone help me?

I know exactly how you feel i was about 20 when i was suffering the same problems of anxiety and toilet problems, i always had to know the exact locations of any toilets and on trips on the motorway found myself having to stop at the services several times even on very short trips. It took me afurther ten years of suffering before my wife said enough was enough and i had food intolorency tests done which found i had intoloreny to milk, pork and other things i cut these out of my diet which helped , i also went to the doctors and got medication to help with the anxiety and a tablet i take before bed which helps to prevent loose poo in the morning. this is what finally helped to break the viscious cycle of anxiety and needing the toilet because of the anxiety. i now use the toilet a couple times a day as opposed to up to 10 or more,i still get bad days but now feel more in control its a shame i lost 10 years of suffering before i took action. my advice to you is take action now and get your life back dont just suffer break that vicious cycle!!!!!!

I'm 44 and I have balance problems since I was 3 or 4. I can't ride a bike or skate or even lie on my back in the water. I hate glass elevators and funiculars. It's like I'm afraid of movement, more than vertigo problems. I would like to know if there is a solution to my problem. Thank you very much.

Iam aged 75 years, and suffer mild faecal incontinence together with mild piles. These problems always arise after a bowel movement, never before, and can arise one to six hours after the bowel movement. The faecal matter is not large scale, but of course smells, and is embarassing. I have BPH, but have been told I do not have prostate cancer.

I totally agree with you on this one, i am an adult with dyspraxia, but it wasnt diagnosed in my childhood, so that gave me problems. people need to realise that yes dyspraxia does cause problems with movement, but other difficulties need to addresse to, such as social skills and work. this reason for this is because if you the messages don't get from your brain to your body properly (clumsiness) then that is certain to have an impact in other areas.

Please seek help from a registered physiotherapist and ask if they can perform the Canalith repositioning movement or the Epley movement. Its painless and very effective. Some GP,S are able to help but it takes approx. 45 minutes so they are probably not keen to offer this treatment.

They are type 1 and type 2. I have a bowel movement about once a week and it builds up over time. There are many times when I am afraid to have a bowel movement because I lmow how much pain I will be in. I have noticed blood on the toilet paper and it worries me. I have been having an alot of pain even after I've gone toilet for about an hour after. Should I get it checked out? And how can I manage the pain?

It's the poop left over in your rectum that's causing the leakage. I had the same problem until I stuck a finger in my butt and felt some poop left over. I use the bathroom when I'm about to take a shower and so after I poop and clean up, I stick a finger and manually take out a piece or 2 of poop that won't come out. Do this every time and the problem is gone. The main issue is that the rectum is not fully cleaning itself out

I also suffer from/ have been diagnosed with IBS and I am having a very embarrasing problem of anal smell. Its usually when I'm constipated and after every bowel movement. So I bathe after each bowel movement and try to douche the area but this doesn't alway help. Please does anyone have any advice as this is ruining my life as you can imagine.

Hi I am a 51yr old female. Since February 2012 I have had very loose and frequent bowel movements. I have seen a gastroenterologist who found me to have ulcerated colitis. I took some antibiotics and am currently on steroids. The symptoms of going to toilet upto 11 times a day did start to subside but have since returned. I go between 4-6 times a day. I have very little control and often do not make it to the bathroom intime. This is very upsetting and debilitating. I am unable to go to work for fear of having an accident..weight loss is gradual , am unable to lead a normal life....wish someone could remedy this problem. Am pleased to read the comments posted as I thought I was on my own with this problem.

    See a doctor!!

I feel like my vagina and anus are being pulled out. Sometimes I have severe "cramps" in these areas. As for the bowels, I take an over-the counter stool softener every night.....for fear of failure to have bowel movement. When I go, it feels like the movement is incomplete. I can be walking around, and the bowel (small amount) slides out of me. I had hysterectomy in 2009.

I'm male 36 when going to toilet stool large and changes in colour from time to time.sometimes have diarrhea. The movement is often painful during but always painful afterwards. stomach sometimes feels bloated and gassy. have noticed sometimes cant pee or empty bladder very well after bowel movement. any help gratefully received.

I have put myself on a very strict diet of high fibre, fruit, vegetables, cereal and chicken however its still very difficult for a bowel movement. Its 1-2 weeks per movement that requires a session of about half an hour in the bathroom. I have now taken regularly using laxatives once a week to sto the bloating and pain. Have you got any advice on how i could improve my situation without using laxatives, as i think i maybe becoming dependant on them.

Every now and then I would bleed every time I have a bowel movement, this has been happening for almost 2 years now. Also, my anus looks incredibly swollen, it doesn't look like those 'grapes of wraths' but the anal walls look much larger than normal, protruding outwards. There is no pain, only a slight sting every time I have a rough Bowel movement.

Hi I have an external pile I've had it a week now how it started was through itching on the anus, I had a bowel movement that day after scratching the itch with toilet paper I noticed a lump like something was hanging out of me. I couldn't push it back in at all, I tried a sitz bath didn't do much so tried anusol it relieved the itchiness and pain also shrunk the pile but still have the pile , so been using germorolds two days now it's shrunk the pile more it's easier to sit down but I've not had a bowel movement for a week it's left me paranoid and scared to go. I just want the pile to hurry up and disappear it's driving me mad. If it's still there I'll have to see my GP but for now im giving germorolds cream a try going to see how it goes but also I'll have to try and have bowel movement I can't go on any longer I don't want to be ill. Why do piles take so long to disappear?

Hi im 29 and found these variocele a while ago. The Doc said it would not give me much problems, and to be fair it has not been painful at all. Lately I have been having semen test for IVF?? Could the Variocele affect the sperm either being produced or movement from the testicle to the ovaries?? ANY DOCTORS OUT THERE, YOUR THOUGHTS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.. THANKS.
