i have had a deep pore on my back on my right shoulder blade for years that inflames every couple of months and any discharge (that i feel comes from VERY DEEP within the muscle) as one would expect, really smells but my question also relates to terrible head/neck muscle pain /migraine i also get relating to this same muscle /shoulder /neck- for which i pay privately to have regular physio, manipulation and massage to help relive the tension. might the deep pore inflammation be causing the muscle to tighten /spasm ? i also have a permanent spot? i am not sure what it is at the base of the skull… .that gets very tender and swells in association with the muscle/neck pain my GP dismissed me when i even mentioned that the smelling deep pore was an embarrassing re occurring problem to me and that i felt anxious that it would erupt or smell when i was undergoing physio or even if i had a massage etc several massage therapists have commented on it and that too makes me anxious and embarrassed this has been going on for at least 4 years… i just feel that the inflammation / infection from the pore and the swelling on the base of my skull and the resulting pain /migraine from the muscle from my shoulder to the neck/head are linked in some way. the GP has given me diazepam to help relieve the tension that causes the pain but i wonder if the inflamed pore is at the root of the cause

Hi Kate, the involuntary muscle contraction sounds unlikely to be the result of an infection. In the case of Vaginismus, the muscle reflex is often in response to a particular stimulus, usually attempted penetration or the thought of penetration. It could be stress-related too or due to discomfort from the dryness. Here's more info about Vaginismus http://pelvichealthphysio.blogspot.ca/2013/10/vaginismus-muscle-reflex-sex-pain.html.

Hi I'm 22 years old and have been having sever abdominal pain for about 4 years now, I sometimes get pain during sex and some bleeding after, not always but sometimes. There is no trigger to the pain but stress makes it worse. I have had two laposcopies, scans, colonoscopy, cat scans, blood/urine tests and a CAT scan, all came back clear apart from a non harmful csyst on my ovaries during my first laposcopy but nothing on my second. The pain is completely across my lower abdomen but can make it painful to breath deeply if I don't take painkillers within a couple of hours from when the pain starts. It comes on very quickly and the only pain relief that works is oramorph and tramadol, I have tried tens machines, muscle spasm tablets, antidepressants and councilling. They still do not have a diagnosis and just keep discharging me to a pain clinic. When I get this pain I just end up curled into a ball because laying straight hurts too much and makes me feel sick, I throw up because the pain gets so bad if I don't take painkillers but now the doctors have refused me them because of how long I've been on them! I constantly need to go to the toilet, if I dont I end up leaking (side effect of the morphine as it made it hard to go so I had to push a lot just to wee ruining my pelvic floor muscles!) and am constantly cold! Can any one help?

Pain relief was useless for me too. My i.h. was on the right hand side. It was painfull for about a year and a half, then eventually a lump appeared. It seems as though it had been brewing for sometime and doctors didn't know what it was. Once the lump came they could explain better that the bulge was getting slightly stuck and sending the bowel muscle into spasm which was incredibly painful. I found that taking Buscopan helped a fair amount. It's a bowel muscle relaxant normally used for people with irritable bowl syndrome. It helps by relaxing the muscle so it could pop back into place. You can buy it over the counter. Good luck.

Lately i am now getting twitching in my left eye which is scarry as this is how my spasms started in the right side of my face. Hi I'm 14. I've not been diagnosed with PS but I think it could be what I have...I have a missing pec muscle on my left hand side. It's so embarassing trying to shop for underwear. I have been refered to the hospital because of the missing pec muscle. They gave me a prostithis because i'mto young to have any surgery. My mum heard about this procedure where you have fat cells or stem cells from your thigh in where the pec muscle should be and then you grow a pec muscle....does anyone know where you can have this done and how much it costs?

i'm 26 and was born missing my left pec. It sucks cuz people are so cruel when it comes to something they don't understand. Missing out on swimming, nobody has seen me with my shirt off except my doctors. It didnt stop me from joining the army though. When i was younger i remember my mother telling me about that surgery, but we never got around to it, most likely due to the costs.

My friend U should really change the gear of your car and shift it back to neutral and then start from there onwards but U need to stay there for a while and be still n stable... Just like U cant see the reflection of the Sun in wavering water it has to be still for a clearer view... In other words it all starts when we feel overwhelmed by problems n resist by saying OMG what the hell? why should I deal with it, instead of accepting the inevitable.... just try n learn to stay calm, its very hard, its like the total opposite of what u are now, but it ll definitely change tyhe whole scenario... U can also start some Yoga breathing exercises coz while in problem or during the period of severe headaches its the breathing cycle that gets upset and we tend to breathe less oxygen and also almost stop to exhale Carbondioxide fully... talking thru experience, its best goodluck

Hi there. Im 20 years old and have currently been with my bf for 3 years, sex was great at first, but now it is impossible. I feel so much pain whilst having sex, dont get "wet" easily and there is so much spasm and tension below. Ive been to see a GP and have been told i have "vaginismus" which is spasm and tension around the vagina causing deep pain etc. It is very hard for us both, and we are constantly on a rocky road. Ive been given creams, dilators, anesthetic cream and waiting for a scan. I was wondering has anyone else or is anyone else currently going through the same? or have experienced it? I was considering applying for the show as it has really gone too far now and i dont know what else they can do for me.

Hi, I am 19 and am having a similar problem.. sex has become hard as it causes alot of irritation and soreness during and after.. I also seem to have a problem staying 'wet' - i become dry quite quickly during sex and this means my boyfriend has to finish quickly! It has become very frustrating and it makes me not want to have sex...I am worried about the impact this will have on our relationship - we have been together two years and he is so understanding but knowing he and his previous partner had no problems makes me feel bad! I was just wondering if you had any advice as you seem to have tried alot of things to put a stop to this? I am on the pill and often wonder if this may be causing a problem as it gives me quite regular bouts of thrush? I'm afraid I have little in the way of advice for you, apart from I have found regular use of aqueous cream (at least twice a day!) around the vulva and opening of the vagina keeps things moist and helps a little with irritation.. I hope you can help me!

Hello, i am 32 years old and i suffer from a wekness of muscle in my left shoulder, around the deltoid area. i am not sure whether this is from birth or if it happenned as a teenager. Either way i have tried everything including seeing top muscle and nerve specialists, had many different scans and for the past 18 months i have been using a machine that is very much like one of those electric shock muscle stimulating machines that is supposed to stimulate the nerves to build the muscle but it doesn't seem to be working. I saw the episode with Paul with Poland's syndrome and wondered whether i could have something like that in my shoulder? Please can you help? many thanks Richard

Hello, When you say, you had to have your gland removed - which gland? Was it the lymph gland in your neck? I have had a problem with eye/facial spasm/twitching and numbness for approx 8 years now and it has been diagnosed as Blephospasm, Hemi-facial spasm and Bells Palsy. I have a lump, (a lymph gland) in my neck that seems related asnd it is constantly enlarged and wonder if you had the same and if this is what they removed and why?

I suffer the same as several people on here. Why when we are in so much pain mentally and physically can we not have the operation that we need. Im a 46JJ and first had a muscle spasm in my neck when I was 17. Now at the age of 39 I have had 3 more over the years, the last one causing nerve problems down my arm. I have constant pain in my neck, and back> Ihave been told I need to imrpove my posture, but I can due to the weight of my breasts. They have always sagged and caused pain and yet when I asked I was todl there has been "no research into it making a difference". I know there has, but I cant even get a referal. i cant afford to pay for the op, so it looks like the nhs will leave me in constant pain which is progressively getting worse as they wont refer me. I feel so depressed about this, that I can do nothing

Where does it hurt? In your pelvis or in your scrotum above the testicles. Does it help the pain to cradle your testicles and gently pull them away from your body. There is a muscle that goes from the testicle into the groin called the cremaster muscle. It's the muscle responsible for pulling the testes up against the body when why they disappear in cold water. Sometimes with ejaculation, especially of you are ejaculating a lot, like 2-3 times in 20mins, this muscle cramps and it really, really hurts. Try only ejaculating once and see if you get the same pain. BTW it is also likely that it is this muscle that is responsible for 'blue balls' the pain that comes from getting excited over and over and never coming and then you are in pain. Good luck, I think it likely that you are enduring the suffering that most 14 yr old boys experience. Don't worry it will go away by the time your are 45 :)

I have had CD for 4 years and receive Botox injections every six months and take the usual medication. Relaxation techniques worked well when the pain is most severe and when the muscles are in spasm and on a daily basis. As well as the usual tricks, touching the chin back of the neck etc. I find raising my arm and stretching the spasm out gently helps. I used very basic yoga stretching techniques to control spasticity and meditation to control symptoms in stressful situations. The dystonia has improved in the past year.

Well done on the lowering of you cholesterol! I wouldn't do any exercise that builds muscle as muscle weights more than fat so doing certain exercises may mean you gain weight but you would be gaining muscle weight. Cardio workouts are the best for weight lost :) keep up the good work, youl get there x

Hi Emma BMI simply calculates the space you take up as a being. It doesn't distinguish between muscle and fat, if you can get one of those tests where theres calipers that 'pinch an inch' (ur doctor will know the test), they can tell if they are pinching fat, skin or muscle then a calculation is done with the results and hey presto, u get a good indication of ur fat to muscle ratio! good luck!

I am a 18 year old male and I since May last year I have just been feeling exhausted and ill pretty much all the time. I also seem to be tired (more than usual- I have never been a good sleeper and have no body clock) and seem to ache all over. Also I seem to catch everything which at the moment I have got a cold and a chest infection. As soon as I get rid of one thing I seem to catch another disease or illness and this cough has been with me for quite a while as well. I have also been experiencing sharp chest and abdomen pain which only seems to be when I lie down in bed and I think nothing of it as it is gone by the next morning. Not to mention sometimes these muscle spasm or seizures that effect me from the neck upwards that can be pretty intense ending with a massive migraine. I do not know whether anyone has experienced what I have gone through, knows why I am having these symptoms, if they are related or completely separate from each other or am I just being paranoid and worrying for no particular reason.

I know this is not an embarrassing body but I am embarrassed that I always seem to be ill and tired which in turn affects my behavior and attitude towards everyday life. My life has changed so much over this last year and I feel really paranoid that I am just imagining and don't want to go to the doctors for something not that serious. This has happened a few times and I feel I wasted the doctors time for no reason.

have you been to see a doctor? i would have thought that would be the first thing you'd do. realistically it could be anything but you NEED to go and see somebody. anything that indicates your immune system isnt working properly needs to be checked out.
