NO, if you masturbate once or twice a DAY even it won't make a different thats an urban myth. but if it feels sore or uncomfortable just stop and dont masturbate until it feel comfortable again. It only makes a problem if you have an erection for HOURs which is pretty impossible, unless u masturbate A LOT. if you have an erection for HOURs the blood vessels that are keeping in the blood which make the erection get damaged meaning that they cant hold as much blood and cant hold it for as long as they used to be able to. DO NOT WORRY, its only if its for HOURS!!!. just stop masturbating if it hurts and dont do it for a day or two. Most of the playground or internet myths are BS!

I'm 42 yrs old & since i was 17 I've suffered periodically from psychosis and have been prescribed chlorpromazine, olanzapine, quetiapine, and am currently taking risperidone. my symptoms are hallucinations in my peripheral vision, paranoia, audio hallucinations, constant anxiety, fear & suspiscion. my moods are erratic and extreme. And at times I'm so manic that I'm climbing the walls & too hectic for people to deal with. my problem is i can't seem to find the right anti psychotic meds that work without causing Parkinsonism, muscle/joint stiffness & pain and my limb coordination is getting pretty poor now. i can be completely sober and will stagger like I'm drunk. I've spoken to gp's & psychiatric doctors & get nowhere. it feels like I'm being fobbed off, ignored & made to feel that my side effects are just imaginary. please can there be any alternative treatments that work without making me feel worse. thank you all. peace...

HI , ive had a similar problem with the same diagnosis , medication after medication appointment after appointment and all dead ends. no difference in my mental health and no explanation from any health professional , scary to think gp's and doctors don't have the slightest concern , any advice would be really great.

Hi Kate, the involuntary muscle contraction sounds unlikely to be the result of an infection. In the case of Vaginismus, the muscle reflex is often in response to a particular stimulus, usually attempted penetration or the thought of penetration. It could be stress-related too or due to discomfort from the dryness. Here's more info about Vaginismus http://pelvichealthphysio.blogspot.ca/2013/10/vaginismus-muscle-reflex-sex-pain.html.

I'm 17 and when my penis is erect it has an unusual amount of curvature. It's sometimes painful to masturbate and I find it difficult to have sex. Is there any way I can correct it's stiffness without the use of surgery?

Ray go and have this condition diagnosed first. Maybe something else.. Dont automatically think surgery..

Gidday Ray. For some guys, a curved one is normal it's when they look like a corkscrew that things get serious. You say it's painful to masturbate which suggests given you're only 17 would be well worth seeing a specialist sooner rather than later while your body is still growing in case action needs to be taken to give your body a chance at correct the angle if that is an option. The fact it is painful suggests it is well worth getting it checked and I'd encourage you to ask your doctor about the possibility of you having "Peyronie’s Disease" which has the classic painfully curved penis as a symptom. Don't be alarmed that the word "disease" is in that term, it's just the medical wording for a condition that you may or may not have, but better you be sure so that treatment can take be arranged. As a footnote, it's unproven scientifically but it has been claimed in some circles that taking Vitamin E can help with curvature but I stress this is purely anecdotal and not proven so may be pure fairy tales. What I would be doing is looking around for a doctor who knows about Peyronie’s Disease usually a Urologist is best and paying them a visit. If nothing else, it'll put your mind at rest and may help find a solution to the pain.

im a 30 year old male, ive noticed over the past 4-5 years that my left chest muscle has rather quickly out grew my right chest muscle, i have done weight training in the past to try an even it out, but all that seems to happen is that the left one will benefit more than the right one, sometimes there is a bit of discomfort in the left chest muscle when im doin my day to day things, even in work whilst im working what ever im doing it feels like all the energy im using seems to be directed into the left side , im very confused about this as i just want to have a normal looking chest, can any1 help me?

i have had a deep pore on my back on my right shoulder blade for years that inflames every couple of months and any discharge (that i feel comes from VERY DEEP within the muscle) as one would expect, really smells but my question also relates to terrible head/neck muscle pain /migraine i also get relating to this same muscle /shoulder /neck- for which i pay privately to have regular physio, manipulation and massage to help relive the tension. might the deep pore inflammation be causing the muscle to tighten /spasm ? i also have a permanent spot? i am not sure what it is at the base of the skull… .that gets very tender and swells in association with the muscle/neck pain my GP dismissed me when i even mentioned that the smelling deep pore was an embarrassing re occurring problem to me and that i felt anxious that it would erupt or smell when i was undergoing physio or even if i had a massage etc several massage therapists have commented on it and that too makes me anxious and embarrassed this has been going on for at least 4 years… i just feel that the inflammation / infection from the pore and the swelling on the base of my skull and the resulting pain /migraine from the muscle from my shoulder to the neck/head are linked in some way. the GP has given me diazepam to help relieve the tension that causes the pain but i wonder if the inflamed pore is at the root of the cause

My shoulder too has no shape. Surely there is something out there to help. Even a shoudler bracce or something to give the appearance that my left side is more or less equal to my right. Please advise as it really realy upsets me and ive tried asking GPs but they do not know what to suggests

During birth I was given an episiotomy yet still had a third degree tear. I was taken to surgery and have follow up appointments with the GP, Physio, midwives, and Gynagology. So far (7wks) the stitches are healing however the damage to the muscle is already done and I cannot feel anything inside. I am getting better at controlling my urine however the Physio said I could not have treatment unless I regain some muscle control first. I am so worried about e long term damage, whether ill be able to carry anger child, give birth, the risk of prolapse etc. the doctor is confident I will be able to carry anger child as its early days however the Physio said there's a risk of prolapse if my muscle doesn't improve significantly. Has anyone else gone though this. I'm struggling to sleep as I can't stop reliving it, I don't see how I could have an episiotomy and still tear so badly.

Hi, I am 27 years old with a mild form of CP and that effects my left side. I am not very educated about my condition. When I was younger I had problems with muscle stiffness and movement. When I explained my condition to my friends by saying one side moves faster than the other. But it wasn't noticed unless I was performing vigorous activities such as running. But now at 27 I'm experiencing muscle cramps and slight numbness. My walking may get off balance and I fall. I know they say progression is not common with age but I think that is what's happening to me. If so any suggestions on what to do from here?

You might be best going to see a chiro practor, they will do xrays and give you treatment to help with the stiffness. Theve done more for me than my doctor ever has. My mum also has the condition and they told her that If she didnt go when she did in a few years she would have had trouble to walk. The stretch ur spine and releive some of the stiffness and give you excercises to do at home. Hope you found my info helpful

I was in your same shoes. The more the Dr wrapped my leg the more infection set in. Please find a Wound Center, I did & that was the best thing I did. They never used wraps, that keeps infection in. It took them 3 months to get all the infection out & they would Dibread it (clean it out with a tiny electric brush) it would sting/burn a little but that was when the infection was so bad. After it got smaller the dibreading pain eased up. They'd put some medicated honey or a piece hydrofera Blue in it, then they'd just put a Tegaderm waterproof breathable bandage. No more wraps, they said that held in all the infection! As far as the arthritis & muscle stiffness, I've been put on all kinds of meds & nothing worked but Advil & Physical therapy. I take a muscle relaxer & 3 Advil in the morning & towards the early evening I take 3 more & a muscle relaxer before bed. Some days r ok, & some r not! But please find a Wound Center, that was the best thing I could have ever done. Ever Dr was doing and saying something different. It's been 6 months & I have a little one starting now, I've got all the stuff here, so I've been working on it & physical therapy is doing ultrasound & working my legs to get the blood flowing so hopefully it won't get to bad. Good luck & I'll be praying for you. PS I never understood why they used wraps on me in the first place, I'm not diabetic & my ankles & legs didn't swell. I hope this helps

Hi I'm 14. I've not been diagnosed with PS but I think it could be what I have...I have a missing pec muscle on my left hand side. It's so embarassing trying to shop for underwear. I have been refered to the hospital because of the missing pec muscle. They gave me a prostithis because i'mto young to have any surgery. My mum heard about this procedure where you have fat cells or stem cells from your thigh in where the pec muscle should be and then you grow a pec muscle....does anyone know where you can have this done and how much it costs?

i'm 26 and was born missing my left pec. It sucks cuz people are so cruel when it comes to something they don't understand. Missing out on swimming, nobody has seen me with my shirt off except my doctors. It didnt stop me from joining the army though. When i was younger i remember my mother telling me about that surgery, but we never got around to it, most likely due to the costs.

Hello, i am 32 years old and i suffer from a wekness of muscle in my left shoulder, around the deltoid area. i am not sure whether this is from birth or if it happenned as a teenager. Either way i have tried everything including seeing top muscle and nerve specialists, had many different scans and for the past 18 months i have been using a machine that is very much like one of those electric shock muscle stimulating machines that is supposed to stimulate the nerves to build the muscle but it doesn't seem to be working. I saw the episode with Paul with Poland's syndrome and wondered whether i could have something like that in my shoulder? Please can you help? many thanks Richard

This happened almost 2 years ago now and is still very painful to this day, I have been to the doctors but they say nothing can be done since I have actually split the muscle in half.. Is this true or is there some way I can help it repair? Thanks

Where does it hurt? In your pelvis or in your scrotum above the testicles. Does it help the pain to cradle your testicles and gently pull them away from your body. There is a muscle that goes from the testicle into the groin called the cremaster muscle. It's the muscle responsible for pulling the testes up against the body when why they disappear in cold water. Sometimes with ejaculation, especially of you are ejaculating a lot, like 2-3 times in 20mins, this muscle cramps and it really, really hurts. Try only ejaculating once and see if you get the same pain. BTW it is also likely that it is this muscle that is responsible for 'blue balls' the pain that comes from getting excited over and over and never coming and then you are in pain. Good luck, I think it likely that you are enduring the suffering that most 14 yr old boys experience. Don't worry it will go away by the time your are 45 :)

Well done on the lowering of you cholesterol! I wouldn't do any exercise that builds muscle as muscle weights more than fat so doing certain exercises may mean you gain weight but you would be gaining muscle weight. Cardio workouts are the best for weight lost :) keep up the good work, youl get there x

Hi Emma BMI simply calculates the space you take up as a being. It doesn't distinguish between muscle and fat, if you can get one of those tests where theres calipers that 'pinch an inch' (ur doctor will know the test), they can tell if they are pinching fat, skin or muscle then a calculation is done with the results and hey presto, u get a good indication of ur fat to muscle ratio! good luck!

Started getting spots when about 10! Started different treatments when I was 12, spent 4 years on antibiotics, alongside lotions etc, the antibiotics destroying my intestines probably forever! Finally got put on Roaccutane/Isotretinoin and it worked amazingly, I'll never forget the day I was drying my face after a wash and all my blackheads just fell out, it was wonderful, it has some crazy side effects, I suffered worst with the nosebleeds, moodswings, muscle stiffness and of course the driest skin ever, and EVERYWHERE. But I can honestly say it's the best thing I've ever done, and the only way I ended up on it (especially being female they didnt want me to go on it due to it being teratogenic)was by going back to the doctors every month or so (after 4 years of antibiotics) and just saying THIS IS NOT WORKING FOR ME! I have 1000000x more confidence now (age 19) and think that it's very important to feel good about yourself. Some of my scars have faded, some possibly will, and some won't. Make sure you get rid of acne before the scarring is irreversable.

This is exactly what I am dealing with... Did you get any answers??? It's like I am using the muscle that pushes a baby out instead of using the muscle to push poop out. Like my brain is confused.

does this loss of muscle affect upper body strength, is the muscle missing and thus will never develop or just undersized

I had a accident some years ago and I lost a muscle in my left eye. Sadly my vision is becoming impared now. I would like to know if muscle implant is available.

Hi John. You are completely normal. Ejaculation is a involuntary nerve driven response to stimulation. The actual muscle responsible is the bulbospongiosus muscle. It is responsible for getting your guys out of the gate so to speak. Im not sure there is much you can do to strengthen it but rest assured the way you are ejaculating now s normal. You may practice stopping your flow of urine when using the bathroom. Start to urinate then stop yourself. Continue doing this until your bladder is empty. Also research the above muscle. Hope this helps. Take care
