At thirteen a hernia is unlikely although certainly possible - they can be brought on by a chronic cough. It would depend on where in your abdomen it is. Get examined by your GP.

My period was due on 7th Feb, but still hasnt arrived, i have tender breasts, swollen lower abdomen nausea, and headaches, but 2 hpt showed negative. I am confused as to what this might be, any ideas?

hi hun i find for myself that home pregnancy tests dont work till im 8 weeks pregnant but i had those symptoms with my daughter, so i'd go to the doctor and see if they can do a test for you. my doctor was reluctant due to the home tests being negative he said they are usually right but it turned out they were wrong and i was pregnant so try to push the issue with the doctor if they are reluctant or see a different doctor, hope this helps

I have the same odd problem. I've had this strange syndrome for 10 years at least. lately i've done a lot of exercise and it is more sore than it has been (but not during exercise). Sometimes it goes away completely. There is a sometimes ache in the right testicle, that only seems to happen when sitting or tight pressure on the testicle. I have felt and and checked over it over in the shower and other places a lot and the wife also checked recently too, the testicle doesnt feel overly hard and doesnt seem to have any lumps on it. the right one is slightly more sensitive, especially on the side facing the leg. Sometimes there is a "stitch" feeling near the right hip, that has also been there for years, and is very sporadic. It can sometimes too feel like a lump underneath when there is an erection then that fades away then. It appears to be some kind of hernia. Dont have much money right now so hard to go to the doctor, still paying off bills from last year's diabetes diagnosis and treatment

Hey im 16 and started my period when i was 10, they are usually regular and normal and last around 3 days! but recently i have crippling period pains that stop me doing everything, and also i have had serve nausea on every morning of my period, is this normal any advice would be appreciated!

its possible that that particular drug or dose of that drug doesnt suit you - ask him what others are available and if there arent any then ask him what add-on medication you can take to ease the side effects.

I have the exact same problem :( It started when I was 17 and I am now 20. I feel sick almost everyday and I have been to my Doctor so many times and his repsonse was 'I'm stuck'. He has no idea what it could be, at first he thought it might be IBS but I don't have any other symptoms. He has tried me on 4 different types of medication but nothing seems to help. It has a massive impact on my life as sometimes I can't keep arrangements with friends as I feel too sick to go out, or I have to go home early on a night out because I feel sick. I also nearly got fired from a job because I had to keep going home early. I really wish I can find what the problem is as I am missing out on so much in my life.

Hi Debra. I feel i can advise you. Debra, i'm older than you and i've suffered with the same complaints for the last 10 years. Two years ago i got sent to an enterologist who did a colopscopy as well as a endoscopy. The results they found was severe ibs. Unfortunately, the symptoms your describing sound like ibs where you have bloating and as a result you've nausea, trapped wind. I'd be seeing the gp if i were you and if your gp can't help, i'd be asking for a referral to see an enterologist (consultant who deals with the stomach). You say you've tried renee, gaviscon - to be honest i don't think they're great. I have tried Zantac and they were good. You could also maybe try colofac or duphlac which can also be quite good for the stomach. Motilium can be good for nausea but it that doesn't work,it's probably best to go to the doc first though as what you take may not suit you. But i think you should ask your doc to send you to see someone and let them decide what's best. That's the best advice i can give you from my experience of it.

Hi, I'm 18 and have PCOS too. I had a similar sort of thing but I went to the doctors and they told me I have IBS. I'm not sure if they're connected but that sounds exactly like what I had! My doctor gave me some fibre supplements and I've been okay since.

Drink a glass of prune juice at night and one in the morning.Prune juice is a natural laxative.

Eat prunes, and drink lots of water. Sunsweet makes some "cherry essence" prunes.. they basically taste like cherries and they're juicy and actually really tasty! Eat 7, wait a few hours, eat 7 more. Stay near a bathroom. Hope this works! (Prune juice does not have the same effect, fyi.)

Hi all, I had a horrible Gastro type of virus for nearly 2 months•Then I was very light headed and nauseous too in addition, now have been told by one of a few doctors I saw at my local surgery I have Labyrinthitis and it should go and to wait erm ignore it.I hope to get referred to somewhere to help me which is what they should have done a while ago as its been a good few months now.All I was given was Montilium and Vit D. It is really freaky as you feel swayey and I find it now fluctuates.Make sure you eat.Ginger tea for nausea and to reduce inflamation,Ginko Biloba helps.Just avoid alcohol and stimulants as it makes it worse. Also try and relax as stress and fear make it worse. You must eat healthy and look up foods that help. For me chicken salad with tomatoes, avocados, helped and chicken and sweetcorn soup.Drink plenty of water too so you donbecome dehydrated. Its hard and debilitating and yep we may look fine but really not. Its driving me crazy swaying and occasional ringing. The nausea comes and goes, and clicky ears and neck.Worst of all will this come back? Probably. It has become part of my life a horrible part basically.I really feel for everyone, who has thois as its really crappy.

Hi I'm replying to suggest trying one thing that helped my daughter who suffered from constant ear infections. I am not a doctor and am not prescribing but for Her the GP said that ever time you feel the symptoms of the ear infection coming on. I'm sure you know when it's starting, he said start taking Diphenhydramine Benadryl immediately, for her she never had another ear infection. If you can prevent the infections you might reduce the vertigo. Good luck I hope it gets better. Also remember the doctor only gives you 7 minutes of time when you visit so research all you can and write down your symptoms when you experience them and include information on diet,, liquid intake and quantity, surroundings, environmental influences, pulse rate, and capillary refill, from that information you collect you might beagle to paint a picture of other influences that maybe causing your symptoms.

Hi Mike, my dad also suffers from dizziness & nausea, he has done for just over 3 years now. He has been to his GP many many times, seen a few different 'specialists', however they really haven't got a clue what he is suffering from. I would like to get in touch with Dr Surenthiran to see about getting a consultation for him. Could you tell me where he works and how you contacted him? Thank you in advance

I have had a hernia for about 2 years and have seen a surgeon he says its a sport injury, but it seems to be getting bigger and i am feeling nausea also, it looks as if i am 6months pregnant and i also feel blowted all the time and its staring to ache please can any one advise me thank you

I really feel for you. Know that you are not alone. I have searched for years now for an answer to how to deal with my hiatal hernia and have discovered that not only do doctors have no true idea about how to deal with them, but they really don't care. I am ashamed to admit it, but I have wished that every doctor in the world had a hiatal hernia just like mine so they will quit ignoring the problem and truly experience just exactly how debilitating they can be. Doctors give up immediately if one's problem doesn;t immediately slap them in the face. Good luck. Hang in there.

I just had my hernia done below my solar plex, there is still a lump there put it dosent protrude as much. Post op is very painfull for up to 10 days. If you sneeze break wind or cough it will hurt, Tip; put vaseline in both nostrils this will prevent sneezing.

Responding to Tina, aren't the main and most common side-effects of Citalopram - nausea, vomitting, abdo pain and diarrhoea? Have you tried other drugs that reduce your gut motility?
