So I'm 33. I am confident in my abilities in work and confident in my social life. Any change in emotion makes me red and blotchy. I get it all down my chest and try to self talk, breathe and wriggles my toes to remove excess energy. I was in a meeting today, like every other day found myself heating up in my face and suddenly nerves came over me. The nerves are totally not anything to do with what I was saying but simply as I could feel the redness with the feeling my head would burst. It's so frustrating as I look like I lack confidence. I spoke to a psychologist and said its self talk (negative self talk) - I am paying attention to the possibility but don't think that's the issue. What can I do? Is there a tablet?

Hello I am 53 years old and I have suffered with IBS like symptoms for years now. I have not been properly checked and diagnosed with IBS but my doctor said due to my nerves that the fact I have constant trouble with going to the toilet all the time especially when I am anxious about something. I am also on anti-deppressents which I have been on for a long time now and I was wondering if it may all be a long term cause from that but I am worried about coming off of them as I struggle with my nerves. Recently I have been getting blood in my stool so I have been to my doctor and he has had a look up me and there is no sign of pile or anything like that so he sent me to the hospital to have a blood test. I am now awaiting my results and am going for an examination with the camera to go up there to diganose what is actually wrong with me but this is not for another 2 weeks. I am very scared and want to know what is wrong with me, do you have any ideas? Should I be worried? Thank you.

I think if your nervous chances are your doubting the decision. You have to remember that when your ready everything will come naturally, don't be afraid to say no either. If he/she has a shred of respect for you they will wait. Also the saying of 'you never forget your first' is a very true saying, be sure your ready and you love each other because this is a big deal and you don't want everything blowing up in your face [in either sense haha!]. You may want to also look into protection because not only would you rather avoid pregnancy [or not, i don't know] but you'd probably rather like to avoid an STD because being treated for one isn't the nicest feeling in the world. But like i keep saying make sure YOU are ready. Not your partner because at the end of the day this is your decision and your life and if your not ready saying no isn't going to kill them. Hope this helps :)

relax, take things slow! make sure your not having sex just because he wants it, both of you must feel ready and prepared, make sure your protected! things should fall into place from what feels good for the both of you, make sure to communicate during and after, say what feels good for you, and he will too. be safe and enjoy! xx

my penis is leaking sperm i think i have weak parasympathetic nerves.i have this a while and dont know what to do. i am very tierd and have low energy.

me too and my balls hurt

2 years ago, i woke up with an excruciating pain on the side of my face at my ear and covered in spots in straight lines along my nerves. Went to the doc, said i had a neurological virus and was sent home. Spots eventually went and i started to feel better. Discovered a lump at my ear where it had been sore, was told it was a neuroma, went to ENT for over a year, to eventually be told it was cartilage that had grown due to ear infections. However the pain at my ear never left, was told that if i had had a virus then it probably destroyed my nerve, hence the pain. I have also been to GP to say that i am having a lot of terrible nerve pain since the virus started, she said she didn't know what it was and wouldnt't be bothering either. Since then spots have come back on the nerve in my neck twice, polka straight line and very painful. i am still suffering with extreme nerve pain and wondering why the spots have returned. Is it just a neurological virus that flairs up now and again and has destroyed nerves leaving me with pains?

I am 17 too and I also know someone who feels like this. What I would suggest is that you relax, I dunno maybe your just not ready yet, have a think about what it is that makes you dislike it. Is it the fact you don't want your partner to see your body, do you feel unattractive, if you do, talk to him about it, if you think that it's a serious and decent relationship. I have a problem with masturbation, I really think it's horrible, the feeling of my insides makes me want to be sick, so I am sure that it is perfectly normal. Maybe you should get hypnosis for it, that could help. Maybe the partners you have had have not been the right one for you. I think that today there is quite a lot of pressure to have sex etc and the thing is you don't have to, but if you do make sure it's the right person. You just know when it's the right person, but make sure they respect you, and love you, and don't just use you for sex. I would say that someone who wants to have sex with you quite early on in a relationship, sort of after a month probably just wants sex, but I could be wrong, I had sex with my partner after 5 months of being with them, but then I kisses him continuously on our first date, everyone's different. When the times right for you then you should know. All sex is, is a man entering a women, and infact for a couple it's quite a magical moment, brings you together, gives you more of a bond. Sex is not what it seems, movies interpret it totally wrong, sex doesn't have to be loads of orgasmic noises and rubbish like that, a large amount of girls don't orgasm that much....don't worry you should just wait till the times right, don't rush and if a guy seems to rush with you then you should tell them to stop with what ever they are doing, and if they care or love you, then they will, if they don't then they obviously don't respect you enough, and I would bother with them....I hope I helped :)

When I eat breakfast I normally vomit a couple of hours later. Most of the time it's before noon. Sometimes it happens in the afternoon, I feel it could be to do with nerves and my GP said it's all in my head. I have aspergers syndrone if it makes any diffrence. I'm 22

yeah it sounds a lot like nerves. ask your GP to be referred for some variety of CBT - some places let you self refer for stress management.

Try varying your diet. You might find that eliminating milk from your diet helps.

Interesting comments on circucision. The foreskin is rich in hundreds of highly sensitive nerves, which, once removed, can never be regained. You are correct - there is stretching etc., but this is only second best .. it can achieve coverage and protection for the glans, and turn it back to moist mucus membrane, but those nerves are lost forever, I`m afraid. That`s the devil of it.

I agree completely. And because of the richness of nerves, I believe that in cases where circumcision is being considered, the alternative of simply making a slit without removing any tissue should be considered. This method preserves all those nerves but yet alleviates various problems. Unfortunately, so many personnel have been trained to believe that certain body parts (such as wisdom teeth, tonsils, and foreskins) are totally unnecessary and should be removed.

I have Googled the term "restoring foreskin" and have read some of the web sites which detail the processes involved. The processes involve gentle stretching (tissue expansion) of the shaft skin. This is for me.

hi guys i am 22 and was diagnosed with vulverdynia a few months ago. i the pain was unbearable and i literally wanted to end my life it got that bad. Not a lot of docters are aware of vulverdynia i saw atleast 12 different docters eventually they sent me to a gyne who didnt have a clue either i eventually saw a specialist at chelsea west minister who was great she gave me amitrpiline which is a depressant but also helps vulver pain. the idea behind it is that vulverdynia is abnormal nerves anything can trigger this off from rough sex to constant urine infections. its where the nerves have been damaged and amitripilne helps train the nerves back to their original form i know it sounds confusing i take 30 mg of dosage a night and also have lidocaine if it flares up i hope this helps guys there is help out there but understand from going threw it myself that it can be a lenghty process

It's so embaressing. I don't think I have this illness. I think I sweat due to nerves, and I can't control them. I don't even know why I get nervous! I'm fine when I'm at home. I won't sweat at all, although I sweat sometimes when I'm talking to some people on msn. Then when I go to school, or my dance class, I just sweat for no reason, even if I'm not doing anything at school. I think it's due to nerves, but I don't need to be nervous. Someone help me?!

Hi I am a 36yr old female and have had this condition for over 15yrs. I had an operation to cut the nerves to my sweat glands in my hands 19yrs ago, where they went in under the arms and breast, because of over sweating and now my doctor thinks this might have something to do with my condition. My doctor is now looking into seeing if i can have some kind of injections to block the nerves to my sweat glands, but I cant seem to get much more information than that from him. Im getting worried now, as he also said it is not a very common precedure.

I am a in my late twenties and I am a manager within my job. For about the last 8 - 10 years I have developed a condition where I go red in the face, which starts from small blotches and ends in my whole face being covered and almost like a permanent heat rash. I have noticed the triggers are stress, nerves, alcohol and maybe sunlight, but controlling the triggers does not take the problem away. I don't think it is blushing as it can last for several hours and will not go away unless I cool down in a very cold place. It is affecting my role as a manager. I have spoken with my doctor, but they always discount any issues and put it down to different ways of people exerting nerves. It is frustrating because I think it is more than that. I monitor the triggers and it often occurs when I am not at work and in a very calm situation

Hi Juliana .wow you really have been through it lately havnt you ..I'm sorry I got it wrong about your coming opp..no wonder you've got e.t...I think I understand a bit more about e.t.now I think it sometimes comes with nerves or anquiety about what's going on in your life ie when your little and bad things happen and you don't understand ..or pier pressure as a teenager ..or a forth coming operation.ie breast knee hips etc can make you really ill with nerves ..or something else ..relationships anything that makes you nervous an agitated can bring e.t.on ...when I think back to my darling mother who had 4children quite quickly in years and I remember being told she wasn't well that's why she was in a nursing home ...only years later being told she had ELECTRIC SHOCK treatment for her mental state ..it's disgusting as my dad could have had her committed .. ...sorry to go on about it ..but I can't understand why it's not very much taken noticed of by the medical profession ..as its staring you in the face ....xx

Hi Louise, there is a surgical treatment that I explored, a thoracic sympathectomy (the surgeon accesses the nerves in the spinal column via the collar bone, divides the nerves and severs the ones to the appropriate areas.) I decided it was too risky and instead had botox in the top lip. I have honestly already seen a 90% improvement in the first 6 days, and it apparently can take up to 2 weeks to become fully effective. The worst injection is the one in the middle, in the lip cleft, but just brace yourself as it is over in a second, and so worth the outcome. Don't be scared of it, it is absolutely fine and very quick. My top lip sweat was so bad I used to spit sweat over people when I spoke to them, but touch wood, I'm OK now. Good luck, give it a go, find a really good person with a good reputation. I don't know where you are in the UK, but I'd happily share the name of my guy with you?

Hi, I am 26 and have suffered from excessive sweating since I was 15. In 2002 I had the operation to cut the nerves at the back of my neck to stop me sweating excessively. I had major complications to the surgery, It was horrific and the pain was worst than the 24 hours of labour I had when giving birth to my daughter. I had chest drains inserted at the time of operation due to the nerves being cut and the chest cavity being invaded. Then when the chest drains were removed my lungs collapsed several times. I would like to say to anyone thinking of this option please DON'T. To make matters worse the sweating came back a year after my operation and now is the same as before under my arms but now the whole of my back drips with sweat just through walking. Please think twice

I am 32 and following an accident i developed degenerative disc disease. I have similar pains in my legs/feet and very similar pains in my stomach/left testicle and had loads of scans and tests. Some days i have say the pain in my testicles out weighed my back pain! I was told its refered pain due to the way the nerves work in your lower back. As silly as this sounds, have you tried some new pants?? I bought some from M&S they are like tight trunks, i have to say it really made it much more comfortable until i had surgery in April as my part of my foot had actually gone numb. You are not the only one mate,..try to go swimming and gentle walking too,..as it all keeps the body moving and stretching the nerves/muscles helped ease mine even when its been really bad. Best of Luck !!

I have recently been diagnosed with IBS after researching my symptoms online and finally going to the doctors. Whenever I get a flare up I become very unsociable because as soon as I leave the house I get nervous about needing the toilet and people finding out about my condition, and the nerves make the problem worse- the result being that when im at home im fine and as soon as i leave the house i desperately need the toilet. when forced to leave the house for any reason i tend not to eat for fear of being ill and dont drink any fluids so that i wont have to use a toilet at all which both make me more ill- faint and dehydrated.... all of which is annoying because when i dont have a flare up im a really sociable fun loving uni student P.S the doctor didnt really take it seriously and gave me some peppermint pills which didnt help. is there anything else out there that could help me? for example something to help with my nerves?

I've been suffering with vulvadynia for two years now. It gets better and then flares. Potent topical steroid creams, such as clobetasol, moderate steroid creams, such as eumavte, and even strong emmunosuppressants, both elidel and protoipc, have failed to have any effect on my symptoms. My nerves are literally 'alive', when it's bad it feels like insects are crawling under my skin. Just very recently I have began taking Amitriptyline and after two years of tying everything, this is what seems to work. It felt like something had switched my nerves off down there. It only lasted for as long as the drug did and the following morning and today, the prickly inflammation is back. I am 28 and no longer have sex with my boyfriend of 12 years. This thing has completely ruined my life and I am currently off work sick with my symptoms. I think I may have to quit my job as I cannot imagine ever feeling able to cope again. I used to be such a confident happy person and now I have lost everything.
