Hi, Sorry to hear of your ongoing problem... My Wife is a hairdresser/colour technician at a busy salon and they see this problem all the time. The only treatment that they have found to be effective to clear both the walkers and eggs is good old Listerine mouthwash... Seriously! Anyone who has this issue should try Listerine on the infected hair. Costs a fortune in potions and lotions designed to combat nits but Listerine is the only product recommended by my wife's salon and it really does work.

right put contitioner all over it comb it through with a nit comb every time you comb the comb through the hair wipe it on a tissue wash it off and then pit lotion on it over night wash it off in the morning and comb it through again and do the same in a weeks time i hope this helps thanks. xx

you should try and use organic shampoo it worked for me.

talk to your doctor, i found betnavate scalp applicator works very well and does not have a nasty smell like coal tar shampoo's.

Have you tried any specific shampoos on your scalp or topical treatments? I suffer with psoriasis on my scalp and a shampoo I use and find quite effective is called polytar. It doesn't look or smell very nice, but if you use a strong smelling conditioner like alberto balsam no one will notice! I know what you're going through I just turned 21 and have only had this since the beginning of the year, I know it's easier said than done but try not to let it get to you because it will stress you out which can make the psoriasis work, and it'll be a vicious circle. Even if it's not psoriasis polytar is very good for dandruff if normal shampoos don't work. Hope this helps =)

well, I have had oral sex a few times. I have no signs of infection. unfortunately I found out later that my bf has had 8 sex partners, that's only if he is being fully honest. should I be concerned? again I have no signs of infection. also, I want to move past him but nits messing with my future relationships.

All I can suggest is get yourself checked out just to be on the safe side. A lot of STI's have no signs of infection until you've had them for a lethal amount of time. So all I can suggest is go to your doctors or local clinic and get checked out just to be on the safe side. And no sex until you get your results. ;)

Hi there, for the past few months ive had a very dry, flaky scalp. It itches and burns i find myself messing with it and have had hair that has been falling out. My scalp has become very scabby and ive never had any issues with dandruff before, no nits. Ive been using t-gel and have been washing my hair less, which helps a little bit, but its really getting me down!

Ive been using T_Gel shampoo and have found it to be very effective. I wash my hair every day as it is usually a mess in the morning, for the first month or so I used T-Gel every morning and it cleared my scalp psoriasis. I now also use ordinary shampoo some days, but feel T-Gel really helped.

I'm so fed up with constantly having to deal with head lice which my primary aged daughters catch and re-catch from their classmates. Is there any way a National No Nit day can be organised through embarrassing bodies where all school age children are encouraged to have their hair checked and if necessary dealt with on the same day? I know nits can never be fully eradicated but there must be a way of making them less prolific...?

that doesn't sound like nits at all. sounds more like psoriasis or dermatitis. i know how upsetting it is to hear others say its nits and such but they dont know what you are going through. Ive had psoriasis since i was around 11, im now 19 and still have people who tell me "urgh you have nits/dandruff/scabs, keep away from me...blah blah blah," so ignore them as they aren't good enough to class as friends if they are hurting your feelings like that. go to your local gp, and they can actually tell you what is happening, and if need be, prescribe you something that will help. hope this helps :) xx

I had nits and lice when I was at infant and jumior school and my own children caught them when they were in infant and junior school. We had a lotion called Derbac put on at the time which was left on all night but was taken off the market years ago because of the ingredients. I know some people seem to get nits again and again and what works on one person another persons biddies as we called the lice are immune to. I have an old Derbac metal comb that has very fine teeth and it seems to be the only comb that actually grabs the eggs as well as the lice, it is priceless to me as you cant get them any more. I have used it on my own grandchildren too going over their head every night poor lambs. There are electronic lice combs which I have bought for all my children so they can use them withought having to use chemicals all the time and so far my family are staying lice free. Vigilance is a pain but so necessary.

hello my 8 daugther has nits and its an on going battle we have tried everything to protect her from getting the nits but the latest treatments don't seem to work we check her hair every night and also get her to sleep with some conditioner but it doesn't seem to work. any tips? :)

Extra virgin olive oil. Let it sit till there dead and you r basically suffocating them. Then comb. Buy the cheap stuff!!! Do it until they are all gone as much as u would like. It will not hurt or damage hair or scalp. Olive oil is healthy! Good luck!
