hey, i'm not sure what nodules is but I have many small white spot things on my englarged labia- i thought it might be herpes but i dont know :(

This could be a form of warts caused from the human papiloma virus. I would certainly urge you to seek medical attention as soon as possible to have this checked (GYNE). Sometimes small pores within the skin fill up with oils and become enlarged but will in time disappear...Hope this helps. Google image vaginal warts and see if this is what you are describing.

I have clear fluid filled nodules on the backs of both legs and they leak clear fluid and then the skin turns red...What is it?

The 1/2in lump in my anus has brought out a tent or cone of skin which now bulges, 2in wide, outside. so in contact with the opposite skin near the rear of my scrotum. It is red but hardly itches and doesnt bleed. The lump grew from multiplying small nodules felt inside over 2-3 months. //After three days with a steroid ointment I hsve found it seems firmer and is surrounded, on and off, by soft prickles from 3in radius of skin.//DO I GO ON WITH THIS APPROACH, PLEASE? MIGHT IT GROW MORE?

have you had yourself checked for pilonidal sinuses. I had to have surgery to remove mine. caused by rubbing and friction i.e. cycling, driving all the time etc. I had abcesses under the skin. they started off as a small lump and got bigger and harder. no pain or itching unless i tried to squeeze it, but not much. eventually i ruptured the skin and it leaked constantly. can be caused by infected follicles, ingrowing hairs. mine was in the sacral area above the anus but I now have one inside my anus too. but its not much of a problem right now. so your problem could be a simple one. so i hope your problem isnt as bad as you think. i was told that they are reccurring though.

Looking for answers, maybe Behcets? A little history first in 2010 when my son was 8 he developed blood clots, erythema nodosum, and other raised nodules on his skin. His immune system had all the elevated markers with high sed rate and CRP. They have never gave us a real diagnoses, but have just treated him with methetraxate and blood thinners for the past 4 years. I am always researching for answers and my son has always had mouth sores that are very painfully and they come and go every couple of months. Could this possibly be Behcets?

Hi, I'm 26, male, wheat-coloured skin and I have severe acne scars all over my face, back and shoulder. I get puss nodules often and have lumps on my face. I also have black colouring (skin darkening) as background on my forehead and cheeks. Overall it's so bad and frustrating that It feels terrible to look at my face in the mirror. When I'm in conversation, most people either avoid looking into my face or keeping rolling their eyes on my scars. It's very embarrassing. Please help. Thanks.

If you are on metformin I think it's the tablets passing through.

Hi, I also was diagnosed with D.C 2 weeks ago, my little finger on my right hand has curved over and will not straighten properly, thickening of the skin and very tender if pressed. Both hands and fingers seem to have nodules in them which are painful at times, also both of my feet have nodules (from the base of my toes and also running down the planta) which is like walking on marbles and very painful. The specialist said they could operate on both feet, which would take 4 weeks off work at least, but there was no guarantee that the nodules would not reappear again. In some cases i think it is hereditary especially the nodule side of things, because both of my brothers appear to have some what, but in a lesser form of what i have inherited.

are they on the skin or on the actual head

Hi Joseph. These nodules are exactly on the inner/ actual crown (after you pull off the outer skin).

Show all replies in this thread

Just watched the programme last night which showed a newish treatment, been around since 2010. Collagenase injections into the nodules, leave for 24 hours and the nodules break down and the doctor basically teases the finger into a straight position. Check it out with your GP or you can pay privately. Name of injection is Xiapex. There is another treatment pioneered in France called needle aponeurotomy where a wee needle is put inside the finger and saws through the bands of fibrous tissue. This procedure is also now available in the UK.

You are right, Linda. You apparently only get DC if you have the Viking genes. I have done a lot of research on the subject and that fact appears to be correct. I am 84 years old and I developed DC in my 50's. It didn't help my profession as a dentist. The little finger of my left hand was bent in almost touching the palm. I had an operation with the latest technique available which included skin graft to replace the surface skin which was removed. Removal of the skin was mandatory because the DC cells adhering to the under-surface would regrow the benign tumor DC. My right hand had the same treatment a few years later. I had soft hands due to my profession and I put the cause down to the trauma I suffered as a sporting sailor in my younger days pulling on sheets (ropes) without protective gloves. Trauma of some kind is the usual trigger to set off the Dupuytens. Of course now I would go for the collaginase treatment

Hibiclens soap is amazing! I've had HS since I was about 9. I'm 23 now. I used to get the sores under my arms the worst, those have seemed to clear up and no flares there for years. Mainly I have them in the groin area. They're painful sometimes and uncomfortable, but I have used hibiclens in the area for about 5 years, and it clears up the sores so fast! It's almost like it penetrates the skin and goes right to the source of the issue. I use the soap daily when I have a flare up and a few times a week when I dont. I feel like it helps reduce the flares and the size of the nodules. The generic doesn't seem to work as well so I stick with name brand. I took accutane for cystic facial acne and that helped with the HS a little bit too. Not a cure for the nodules in the groin, but my face and underarms healed great! Not recommending this for anyone though. Side effects were awful. The nodules on my face were more painful than the groin. My dermatologist said they were similar in composition. HS effects the sweat glands. Mainly sebaceous. Same with the face issue I had. It's a nasty disease but I'm glad I'm not alone even though it feels like it sometimes

I have loads of extremely hard nodules of skin sticking out all over the bottom of my feet. These grow bigger and eventually i can break them off leaving a small dent where the nodule was. However they grow back again. I've had this for about 12 years now and it's slowly getting worse. When i put on socks the nodules scag them. I went to see a specialist a few years ago and he was amazed by the condition but wasn't sure what it was. He suggested coral growth that had laid dormant in the skin and also a type of 'punktatis'. He suggested that it would eventually go of it's own accord. However this hasn't happened and it has got a lot worse. It is very embarrassing if i do things like go swimming so i would love to know what it is and how to cure it. I've searched the internet but can't find anything like it.

Hi Joseph. These nodules are exactly on the inner/ actual crown (after you pull off the outer skin).

They're harmless nodules. Some guys have them and others don't. My doctor says not to worry about them but I think you can get them surgically removed if they bother you.

My left palm of my hand has four nodules and have connected. I have been diagnosed with Dupuytren's. Has an research been done about trying acupucture?

i have had surgery on both hands [ palm and finger] but it didn't work ..i have now been given xiatex injection on two fingers and it is a much better procedure one injection and the next day go back for manipulation and hey presto a straight [ or nearly straight ] finger ..i advise anyone with this condition to speak to there G.P.to see if it is available on the N.H.S in there area ..

I just had a treatment by a plastic surgon on my left hand for Dupuytren condition. This was done without making any incisions. He destroyed that hard cord causing this condition just with a needle. My fingers are straight and after two weeks now one can"t even see a needle puncture. The other procedure he does is one injection with a fairly new drug ciatex.

Three Words: Apple Cider Vinegar. THE CURE. Within 2 days, my son's "nodules" turned black and scabbed over!

Unfortunately ACV didn't work for all of us. My 3yr old contracted molluscum from daycare I believe of course passed it on to his older sister :/ I only had 2 or 3 bumps and it definitely did the trick for me, but my kids would pick at them and so they would complain that the ACV was stinging and hurting. Plus it agitated my son's skin. Has anyone tried Dermallay before? They advertise that their medicine is painless and seem to have some good results and reviews but I'm slightly apprehensive...

Hi, My Dupuytren`s Contracture (DD) started about 7 years ago, i am 46 now. So far i have had 1 operation on my right palm to remove the nodules that were affecting my ring finger. The operation was a complete success, with a 3 month healing and lots of physiotherapy after this. In the meantime my left hand palm was growing nodules and affecting my little finger so badly that every time I washed my face my little finger would go up my nose. 1st operation on my left hand to release the little finger and ring finger, operation successful, however I lost some feeling in little finger, 3/4 Months recovery and lots of Physiotherapy. A few years later 2nd operation on left hand, ring finger and little finger progressively got worse, the nodules on my palm got bigger and harder. This time, although the operation worked well it left my fingers bony, with some tendons exposed and a permanent tingling sensation, also needing skin grafts. To date as I write this message, my right hand ring finger has started to grow nodules, not in the palm but on the finger itself, the finger bends forward at the PIP knuckle. My left hand, the growths have returned with a vengeance in the palm and pulling the fingers forward, while the fingers themselves have their own nodules growing on them and pulling the fingers forward in a claw like manner. Other conditions of my both hands include: Club Nails: I have had this condition as far back as I can remember, maybe not from birth. Nodule growths on all the tops of my finger joints on the PIP joints, these nodules starting growing about 20 years ago and are unsightly and extremely painful when you rub them, the surgeon who performed my first right hand operation for (DD) surgically removed them from all finger, however some of the nodules came back with a vengeance and on other fingers no growth at all. After three operations and going through the physiotherapy 3 times my conclusion is this: Although the operations done to remove the nodules are mostly successful, i.e. to straighten the finger, there are other issues to consider due to the complexity of the operation, loss of tissue resulting in bony fingers, skin grafts, possible loss of feeling or a permanent tingling sensation in affected fingers. The after effects of the operation are painful with a 3 to 4 months recovery. Although the Physiotherapy worked really well for me after the 3 operation the hand splints they gave me worked well to start with then started to give way. About 8 months ago I started to sit on my hands and noticed that my fingers started to straighten although sometimes painful, it did work, by putting you hands palm down while on the sofa under your bum, the weight of your body and softness of the sofa or pillow gradually stretch the finger down. It helped me to carry on playing the guitar. I am sure that if a product was available to fit over the hands that were light enough and strong enough to keep the fingers straight this in turn would stop the fingers bending at night and may stop the growths? If I can avoid these operations again by finding other alternative methods that achieve similar or better results that would be fantastic. In my opinion I don’t believe that this condition has received the public attention that it deserves, I am sure that there are thousands of people out there who suffer with this demeaning, embarrassing and mostly depressing condition. I hope you find my comments useful, as I have found your comments very useful and extremely encouraging, thank you

My doctor tells me I also have the beginnings of Dupuytren's Contracture in both hands and nodules on the instep of both feet. I don't feel surgery is a solution as this is only temporary and it also increases scar tissue. Is the collaganese treatment mentioned on your recent programme available on the NHS? What is the success rate? Also is it better to have this treatment sooner rather than later?

Hi my name is Shane, Im 31 and have worked as a sprayer for 10 years and over the past few years have nodules grown on my knuckles on both hands. I find that they are very tender and painful in the cold weather. I've seen my GP who advised to take paracetamol when it's really bad but this doesn't have any effect. Is there any other treatments that could help to alleviate the pain? Any advice would be much appreciated as it's starting to get me down.

I am a virgin and planning on having sex with my partner but I am really worried about being abnormal down there. It is really lumpy in my vagina, just inside the opening there are small lumps that are like soft but firm nodules and light pink in colour. It doesn't hurt too much when I put fingers in and feels ok once I get past the lumpy sortof mass. I have tried searching about it and come up with hymens which are described as a thin peice of skin which is nothing like what I have, im terrified of it being bad, Please help

    maybe a fimbriated hymen?

Why don't you go see your GP nurse, they're really nice and if you're worried it's always worth checking out.

Hello, I'm very worried about my left nipple. It's been itching almost constantly for about a week. I have tried not to scratch it as this has caused even more itchiness!! Today, I have noticed a change in the appearance of the nipple. The centre of the nipple where breast milk would come out looks strange, it's turned in a weird cluster of very tiny nodules ... It's very difficult to explain. Should I be worried? What could I have wrong with me? Thank you, Sarah, age 20
