    Bulimia

This condition results in sufferers binging on food, and then purging it from their bodies by being sick or using laxatives. Read more →

I'm 13 years old and I have PCOS. I have excessive hair on my body and can't seem to get away with it. I'm bullied and I am trying to stop eating. (I am eating one meal a day) I wish my life would just end so I don't have to deal with this. What do I do?

You need to see a doctor. You are just starting puberty and would likely be best to deal with this sooner than later as you may have pcos. If you are diagnosed with pcos then treatment should help. Without help it will only get worse. I've had pcos since I was a teen and it went undiagnosed and untreated for a very long time so get it checked out and do your research, good luck.

Gracie, don't stop eating, please. It won't help and you'll just feel worse. You need to eat to stay healthy. Stopping eating will only cause you more pain. I know it's difficult. I've been in the same situation for years. (I've never gotten rid of all my body hair) I know it hurts to be bullied, and your feelings are completely understandable.Do you ever talk about it to anyone? Maybe your parents or an older sibling? They might have experienced the same thing, and even if not, they love you and can help. There are other people who feel like you out there, and others who love people who look like you do. They may not be as easy to find as those bullies, but they're there. I know this might not seem helpful, because I'm a stranger, but you ARE good enough. Anyone who makes you feel otherwise has their own problems, and their bullying might even be about their own insecurities. I know from experience that some people will genuinely like you for who you are, and I've met people who didn't mind my hair at all. And you should know, that your hair is ten times more noticeable to you than it is to everyone else, because you hate it. Please don't give up now. Life can be amazing. You have it in you to be happy. You can choose to be happy, despite what other people may think. The first step is to love yourself. Start on the inside. That means: eat healthy, eat food you love too, and do something kind for others. Be a good friend. Be the sweet person you are. Once you start loving yourself, you won't want to give up. P.S. I don't know in which country you live, but if the treatment for PCOS is too costly for you, consider talking to your parents or an aunt or uncle, or someone who might be able to help you---moneywise or with moral support.

You are beautifully created by God. God created us in HIS on image. Do not let ignorant people bring you down. They don't know any better. They lack education and only see the outer appearance of a person and not the inner person. I struggle too wuth unwanted hair and too have been bullied because of it. I know though that there is a GOD in heaven who has created me beautifully and HE loves me. We are HIS children. GOD loves you too and you are special.

Hi im 17 years old, i used to have bigger breasts but then throughout a year i had lost a lot of weight and my boobs started to sag. They have always done this, but my self esteem has been really low. Lately i've been eating a lot more which plumps them up a little bit, making them almost back to a D.. (i think) but i dont want to keep eating as i liked my old figure and now im worrying that im getting fat. I'm worried that i will stop eating food dramatically to get thinner, but this will shrink my breasts. Is there somehow i can stop my boobs from sagging so much? I've tried a few creams but they havent worked dramatically. My mum says its natural, but its constantly on my mind and i always compare mine to others. Is this normal to have such saggy boobs at 17? Advice would be much appreciated.

Hello, I think that sounds like IBS related anxiety. Probably from the pain you are experiencing is causing stress to your body. I had this but the constipation one. It was so painful for me I thought I had a tumour :. Look up relaxation techniques for anxiety give them a real good go and see what you think. http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Relaxation-Exercises.htm If not maybe you should go back to your gp and ask for something different to a laxative.

Sometimes when I am eating I have the same problem. I can start eating but then very quickly want to be sick and have to stop eating immediately to avoid this. I feel I psychologically but myself off the foods that I am eating as I am very particular when it comes to food about hygiene. I tried to avoid negative thoughts whilest eating and keep my mind distracted on something else. Hope this helps.

there's only one way to do it thats eating a good diet . i mean eating no sugary foods not even one piece . trust me it works try eating alot of oranges .good luck :)

yes the doctor absolutely can help - you'll need to be referred to an eating disorder specialist. most GP's dont really know a lot about eating disorders. i cant say if your family would be disappointed in you but everyone else i know with an eating disorder their family have just been upset that they've been struggling in silence. please get help - this is no way to live. laxatives especially can cause all sorts of very embarrassing problems in the long term, please look into it. there are any amount of eating disorder forums on the internet and there are all sorts of horror stories about laxative abuse. its really not pleasant. be safe x

I have suffered with an eating disorder since the age of around 7 when I would over eat compulsively and then developed bulimia at the age of 16 / 17. I am 35 now and this problem is killing me slowly mentally. I have tried therapy but talking about it doesnt help me stop completely. HELLLLPPP!!!

I know exactly how you feel as I now need to pass wind constantly after eating, within 5 mins of eating anything I pass foul smelling wind which I try to hold in. This has been the case for the past year after I caught a tummy bug. Before that I hardly ever passed wind. I am so worried that I am going to pass wind in Public especially as I have to attend so many meetings at work. I sometimes avoid eating if I know I have a meeting coming up. All food types set it off like clockwork apart from drinking water or peppermint tea and it will go on for a couple of hours after eating. Does anyone have any suggestions that may help?

I had this problem, and read somewhere that eating cheese caused tonsil stones, so I experimented and stopped eating cheese. Once I stopped eating cheese, no tonsil stones appeared and I did not suffer bad breath. I tried eating cheese again, and the stones reappeared along with bad breath. Conclusion, STOP EATING CHEESE. Perhaps, it not just cheese alone.

please do go and see the doctor - your parents dont need to know. eating disorders are so difficult to get over by yourself. all the symptoms you're describing are absolutely common in people with eating disorders. something else you can look into is beat (www.b-eat.co.uk) they're very non judgmental and can help a lot in pointing you towards useful groups for support. please reach out to someone - eating disorders are horrible things.

I've managed to lose 7 stone over the past 2 years, I now weigh about 13 stone and I'm finding it almost impossible to lose anymore weight. I managed to lose the weight through eating sensibly and exercise but now my eating has gone out of control. I keep binge eating almost every day at every opportunity - I tell myself it won't happen the next day but I just can't stop eating when I get home from work. I'm starting to put weight on now which I find so depressing but for some reason I just can't get back into the disciplined diet and exercise regime I had before - it made me feel great about myself and so healthy where as binge eating is a quick fix but for some reason I just can't stop. I really need some help - I don't want to put on the weight I worked so hard to lose and I still need to lose more.

I'm not a doctor, but there is a YouTuber named "freelee the banana girl" who talks about how she initially lost her period eating raw food diet and how it returned now and is very light and no longer painful. She believes the pains and even the flow can be affected by diet - she saw a decrease in flow and a loss of pains (as mentioned before) based on diet, especially (in that she was eating a high-fruit diet - "80/10/10") lessening the amounts of fats she was eating. She saw a direct link between the amount of fat she was eating and the pain/heaviness of her period. Look her up for more info.

Please go visit your doctor. I'm 17 and around 5ft 4 and I only weigh in at 6st 11 lbs... my periods did stop or became very infrequent because of a dramatic weight loss. Your doctor should be able to supply you with some vitamins that can re-start your period. Sounds weird but try eating brocolli and cranberry juice as they are both good for 'female health'. But please visit a GP as soon as possible before any serious issues arise. (and its not about eating more but eating a well balanced diet and getting your 5 a day) stay well x

Why can't you stop eating biscuits? You need to put this into perspective - will you die without eating biscuits? No. Will you die by eating bisuits? Yes, very likely. You already have increased chances of strokes, heart attacks, cancer, loss of limbs and so on. The joint problems could be due to the excess weight. I know you don't want to stop eating biscuits, but the tragedy is after you're gone, people will say, "If only she hadn't eaten so much sugar, she might still be with us". I wish I could find one thing which would make you see that you may as well be spooning sugar into your mouth - it's the same thing. I had to give up alcohol and anything with sugar in it to get control of my weight and I wouldn't go back now. Please try to stop,

From the age of about four I have had an issue with eating food, the thought of eating out at restaurants or anywhere away from home, especially with food other people had made I would feel very anxious and automatically start to feel sick, sweaty and really panicked. A couple of years ago it all seemed to go away and eating out was not something I worried about anymore. However, im now 20 and it has started again just a couple of months ago. This is making some situations really difficult, i worry about feeling ill when im not at home and i worry about eating and then being sick. My panic attacks dont only occur with food but with other situations too. Is there anything I can do? I love food!!

Hi Shannon What you could do is to cut down on portion sizes.. And look at what you are eating so in other words if you are eating chips and no veg or fruit then you are not eating healthily. Look at what you can cut out.. Sugary drinks, mayonnaise, sugar in tea.. So non nutritional calories cut out... Also try to do some exercise in between your gym... Like getting off bus one stop earlier, walking around more in the house... Dancing in the house say every 20 mins.. Trick is to eat less than you need, eat food which is nutritional and move a lot more... Be determined you will get there... If its not working you need to adapt it or try add some more exercise.. Good luck
