Hi, me and my boyfriend have been together for 3 years. The first few months were great. No pain at all. We were like animals, you couldn't get us off each other. Then literally out of the blue, the pain started. It was originally pain inside the vagina, the doctors sorted me out and that was fine. Now I have extreme pain about 10 minutes into sex. We do everything, foreplay, oral sex, take it slow. Nothing seems to work. The pain originates at the bottom of the vagina, known as the posterior fourchette. It seems that a blister forms. I can't pop it or anything, it just seems to be swollen and EXTREMELY painful. Please help me. Not only could it be harmful, but it is damaging my quality of life. I'm getting to the stage where I don't want to have sex with my boyfriend due to fear of hurting. And every few minutes he's asking me if I'm okay because he's afraid I'm pretending to enjoy it for him. Not only do I not want to go through this myself. I don't want to put my boyfriend through it anymore. Please please help me.

I have been with my boyfriend for 4 months now and have had previous sexual partners before and had no problems, however about 2 months ago, me and boyfriend had sex and I noticed a pain on the opening of my vagina when he penetrated me. And I notice now that the pain will move from one spot on the opening and then I check a few days later that the left side of the inside of my vagina is very saw and it will move again but it is always on my left side of my vagina. Ive been to the doctors twice now and diagnosd thrush and gave me treatment but the pain is still there and the same as before. If I don't have sex for a week, it wont be as bad when I have sex again but will always get worse.... Even when I use lubrication it is still saw. Please help :(

I had something similar a year ago but I was just diagnosed with thrust too... I would seriously advise you to go to your nearest sexual health unit in a hospital to get properly checked and discuss it with one of their doctors. I left mine until too late and was barely able to walk. I was an extreme case in the unit and promptly diagnosed with "vulvodynia" which is not great! Don't just leave it and think it will go away, get it looked at :) xx

I have a growth in my vagina. It has the same colour as the vagina. I can see it protruding out of the vagina when I spread my legs and look in a mirror and it is about 3cm. It is not painful but sensitive to touch and I have pain during intercourse. What could it be?

I'm not really sure, but a painful growth should be checked by a doctor as soon as possible.

did you find out what this was, as I have the same

Hi i'm 16 and I have been to see my gp several times a few years ago but i never really received an answer. Basically i suffer from internal vaginal pain. I haven't had it for a long time but it has suddenly returned. It feels as though the inside of my vagina is very sensitive; pubic hair growing inside of my vagina is very uncomfortable and causes sharp pain. I have always been unable to use tampons as inserting them was excruciatingly painful. I also seem to get air trapped inside of my vagina which is very uncomfortable and causes pain. I have tried to explain this to a gp before but they didn't understand. All the gp's ever gave me was thrush cream, and i am certain this isn't thrush. Now there is also a constant burning sensation, for which i am taking cystitis relief sachets for, to see if they will help. I am too embarrassed to visit my gp and i feel that i would not get any answers. Any help please?

Hi, I am a 19 years old female and have suffered with BV for years, around 3 years. I have been treated with every type of antibiotic, cream etc the doctors have and sometimes it goes away but then comes back nearly every month. I had an abortion at the age of 16 due to a terrible mistake and I don't know if this is when it started. The condition is getting worse it is so sore and painful at the opening of the vagina and high up in my stomach. I can not have sex at all due to the pain and my partner has noticed there are small fleshy bumps where the pain is that will swell up sometimes as well as the whole vagina. My vagina is either extremely dry when I try to have intercourse or just in general or sometimes there is lots of smelly discharge. I have been checked out fully including blood tests all in all around 20 times and they have found nothing except BV both at the doctors and hospital I don't know what to do and I am now suffering with depression due to this.It is the pain that is bothering me the most as I can not have intercourse at all and I feel like I'm not a normal 19 years old girl. Please help me.

I am 33 and since having my third child three years ago have suffered with extremely bad period pain. I often feel very sore inside and right inside at the top of my vagina which I poresume is my cervix. Everything feels like it is in the wrong place and sometimes when I need to pass a stool I get back pain like a trapped nerve. I also have to push between my anus and vagina as I don't feel like I have enough push. Deep penerative sex also can leave me very sore for a couple of days. My partner noticed that there was something low down in my vagina and now I am really worried. This is upsetting me so much and I feel really embaressed.

my problem is that I am feel a lots of pain beween my vagina and bottock, spaically when I SET DOWN OR IF i am walking some day it is so bad. the pain feel like a buring sensation,I am a bit worry, please can you help me. than you for reading my e-mail

not sure about the discharge and cuts you have around the vagina, but the burning and sore sensation to me is telling you that you need to use lube.hope this helps.

I am 19 years old and for the last year I have been in a lot of pain during and after sex, I am in a relationship with my partner so I know it's not related to an STI. We use plenty of lubrication and we've tried different positions to ease the pain but I still get a stinging sensation and sometimes a bruised feeling almost every time. I've been to my GP because I thought it had something to do with a small lump I have at the base of my vagina but she said it was a muscle that I've worked up?! The pain lasts for a day or two after having sex so it's quite a big problem! Does anyone else suffer from this or know how to ease/get rid of the pain?

i have been having this same problem. i am also in a relationship so im certian its nothion to do with an STI. The pain lasts up to a couple of hours but eases off it happens every time after sex. i am only 18 so i no its nothing to do with age. I have been to my gp an they havent really done alot to help me with this problem.

im 17 and recently had a yeast infection. A week or so after i was sure the infection was gone, i tryed to have sex wih me bf. It was extremely painful. Everytime we have sex its the same pain. Its also the same with masterbation. My bf is trying to be understanding but this is starting to put strain on our relationship. Im not wanting to have sex because of the pain. Im rly scared this may be permanent. After self-inspecting my vagina i noticed that its the inside rim (the part closest to my anus)that hurts when pressure is applied. Ive also noticed rasied, soft, little, painless lumps right in the opening of my vagina; you have to open my lips and spread the area to see them. Im not sure if they were there before. They do not look or have the symptoms of warts and as far as i know i do not have a STI, but could they be a problem? any ideas on what the pain is and how to make it go away forever? Is it permanent?

When i was your age i had lots of pain with sex. The main cause of it, and the cause of getting thrush occasionally was a lack of foreplay, without foreplay there's not enough lubrication, without the lubrication the constant movement during sex can really aggravate your vagina, and be painful. The other possibility is, cystitis. Cystitis (inflammation of the bladder) is very common in women, and after your boyfriend goes to the loo, if he shakes his penis rather than wiping it, the trace amounts of urine on it can cause cystitis in women that are prone to getting it. I was told this by my doctor when i was younger.

It sounds like you have vulvodynia. I suffer from this also and it is very hard to treat. It is hard enough in the first instance to get a diagnosis as unfortunately it isn’t a very well researched condition, but there are so many different causes, thus so many different treatments. It ends up being a case of trial and error and something that may work for one woman won't necessarily work for another. There is a book called the volvodynia survival guide which I would strongly recommend you buy if you think this is what you have, and there is also a society set up online which you should look at. Hope this helps a bit.

I have had a lot of pain in my vaginal area. I have been to see my gp and have been given all different kinds of antibiotics. And treatment for thrush and bacterial vaganosis. My pelvic floor muscles feel very weak and when I get the pain in my vagina it's very painful. I have had a full STD check and I was clear of everything. I took the morning after pill almost 3 weeks ago and haven't stopped bleeding since and the pain has just got worse in my vagina and my stomach. Please help.

Sounds like what I said in other comments - either a pimple, ingrown hair, boil, or subbasious cyst (don't worry, although painful, they aren't as bad as they sound). What I recommend is using a warm compress on it everyday for about 10 minutes. This will both bring down swelling and inflammation, and it will also bring it to a head if it's a pimple. You can then VERY gently and carefully squeeze out the pus and keep it clean. It should heal up in no time! Worst comes to worst, go to a doctor, explain your situation (don't be embarrassed, they're there to help you!), and have them lance it. I won't lie, this can be pretty uncomfortable, but it does help.

I am 25 and recently have been experiencing pain during sex. As the penis enters the vagina there is some pain and it feels as though the vagina slightly tears. I have not experienced this before and i do no have any children. Is there a reason why this is happening now? I am worried that by contuning to have sex it will get worse?

Hi I'm really confused as to what is wrong with me. I started with what I thought was a uti not long after stopping the pill and having upsi (in a secure 10 yr relationship) Had antibiotics n the pain stopped but there was nothing showing on my water sample now I just have a dull pain I'm my vagina when I need to wee but it's 9 releasing the wee as long as I drink plenty of water all day. The pain is more in my vagina than bladder. Does this sound like ic? I'm worried sex will make it worse but I'm desperate for a baby

you may have a sore inside your vagina or on your cervix if the pain is sore rather than crampy or achy. i have endometriosis and that causes pain during and after sex but its definitely more cramp than sore and in my womb/pelvic area rather than my vagina. go and see a doctor or go to an STI clinic to check. i also have the hpv virus if that helps.

As you already experienced, shoving the penis into the vagina is not one of the best or sensitive ways to enter a female . There are many questions to be asked as why it was so hard for the penis to go in for instance: was the vagina moist and erect, was there lubricant, is the penis to big, and many more. You don't suppose to shove it in you have to ease it in and work from there ,depending on which type of vagina a female possess it can be easy to insert the penis and depending on her tolerance level for pain it might be actually be pleasurable for her to have an abundance of pain inflicted on her during sexual intercourse

well, I'm 17 and suffering the same thing... It is horrible! I got "replens" which is a moisturizing gel you inject into the vagina and it lasts for 3 days so you can have sex for up to 3 days after using it. It's thick so it doesn't run out and gives back moisture and eases pain during sex or general pain caused by the dryness. At first when using it it looks like you have thrush because all of the dead cells inside the vagina are washed away by it but after continual use it goes away. I think the only permanent cure is hormone replacement?

Hi Georgeta, I think you may have a problem with your pelvic floor if you need to urinate so much. The pain in your vagina could be vulvodynia. This can be treated with anti-depressants to calm the nerves down. You CAN get help. You need to go to a gynae that specialises in pelvic pain and who understands vulvodynia/pelvic pain syndrome. Ask for a proper diagnosis and treatment immediatly to put you out of this awful discomfort.

Sweetie. 2 things. 1. It may be a cyst, check for any bumps around YHE lip. If it is a cyst, I recommend going and getting it drained. Usually I just pop them myself and put rubbing alcohol on it. But that's dangerous. You can also take a bath in just a little bleach. But I wouldn't recommend that either. Also, if you scratch it often, it could be a small cut. My recommendation is to talk to a female parental figure such as a mom, aunt, grandma, etc. about it. I know that it might be embarrassing. But just about every female in the entire world has issues down there sometimes.

Iam 26 year old i have a problem that my vagina stinks very strongly every day, even after washing off with warm water regularly, it makes me so uncomfortable and also when i get urine it burns a lot and also cause pain manytimes and there was dischare too bt it goes and re occure every time and also during sex my vagina becomes too dry and it burns on the tip of the vagina during the same kindly help

well, I'm 17 and suffering the same thing... I think the only permanent cure is hormone replacement?

hello, my boyfriend & I are both 17 & have been together since we were 13 & have had no other sexual partners, just ourselves. But since starting the pill about 6-8 months ago, i have noticed that since then, after sex my vagina becomes sore, sometimes the pain is so intense i sit & cry, it can take from 5 minutes to an hour for the pain to go away, but it is starting to cause problems as it's starting to put me off wanting to have sex altogether because of the pain & instead of enjoying sex i'm worrying about the pain afterwards. Please please help, i would be so grateful!

i have been suffering from stinging and itching around my vagina for a few months now. my boyfriend and i have not been able to have proper sex for a good 6 months as it is just too painful for me and the pain can last for hours afterwards, making it sore to urinate and even sit down. i consulted my doctor because i started bleeding from a small rash around the wall of my vagina and he treated me for thrush and i have started using 'fem fresh' wash, but the pain is still there and i cannot have sex. could it be an sti or something less erious?
