    Have you tried using lube?

Do not use saliva as a lube. The human mouth is full of bacteria. Get a lube that is meant for this purpose.

I am 21 years old and intercourse has been very painful for years now. It is so painful for me that my partner and I can't have intercourse. It isn't a problem of bad lubrication, but once half way inside it is very sore and painful. I can feel he is inside but it has never been pleasurable for me. I am currently on the injection which makes my Sexual drive non - existent and this is upsetting to me that I can't perform for my partner. Does anyone else have this? Would it be worth seeing a doctor?

there is nothing that can be done to the womb in any case due to the many risks and complications however, your pain during intercourse is mostlikely down to a partial or full vaginal septum. This is pretty much where a layer of skin divides the whole vaginal shaft into two and for me, was the cause of my pain and discomfort. i recetly had mine removed through surgery and would advise you see your gp and explain your situation; i'm sure they will pass you on to a perfessional and you will continue through the process i did and will hopefully, have this sorted in no time. it really was the best decision i have ever made. Regards x

hi, i am 18 years old and every time i try to have intercourse, it really hurts, i didnt really bother with regular checks down there, until now. i have noticed that my vaginal opening doesnt seem to be open, there is skin there, but for some reason i am still able to have intercourse, although it is extremely painful. i dont know what is wrong, i think it may be vaginismus, but i am worried that it is something worse. can you help me?

it sounds to me that your hymen is still intact - usually it doesn't take much for it to break but we're all different. you should go see your doctor about it if it's causing you pain.

I am 24 and have been having painful urination for about 7 years now. When this all began I saw my GP who did tests. This sharp, stabbing like pain when passing urine would happen monthly and each time a MSU was completed with mixed results. After about 3 years of suffering I was sent to a urologist, nil found so a preventative course of antibiotics was started. I took a small dose of antibiotics every day for 2 years. I didn't want to stay on antibiotics for the rest of my life. So when I changed cities and spoke with a new GP, I was encouraged to stop my antibiotics. Since then I haven't had as many periods of painful urination however more recently it has started up again. I use the cystitis sachets, warm baths and hot water bottles to relief symptoms along with pain relief. However I have found I experience painful urination within a day or so following intercourse, and intercourse itself can be extremely painful. I am yet to go speak with my GP. I have been with my partner for the past 7.5 years and have been finding the thought of intercourse frightening due to the the thought of suffering afterwards. I have read around and ensure I go to the toilet Pre-intercourse, washing, urinating afterward, etc. but nothing seems to work. I need help as I am worried our relationship may suffer due to the symptoms I experience now following intercourse. Does anyone have any advice??

Try Waterfall D Manose - also called Sweetcure. Just Google it to find the website - it is refined in Yorkshire. Sweetcure is a white pure powder - a natural sugar that picks up the bacteria in the bladder and soothes the burning too. I had cystitis constantly but it stopped within 3 days of taking a teaspoon of Sweetcure daily in warm water. I still take a teaspoon at bedtime to keep cystitis at bay. Like you I had been prescribed antibiotics - but they gave me thrush so i was in constant discomfort. Sweetcure saved me - I wish doctors would prescribe it.

Hi, i have been with my very patient & understanding partner for 9yrs & we luckily have two beautiful children. I was diagnosed with endo a few years back. Sex for me is so painful & it not only effects me but my partner. I feel so sorry for him having to appologise for hurting me. What should be an act of love & passion between two people is just absolutely horrific. I have painful intercourse whatever time of the month it is. The pain is only on my right hand side of my groin. If u have endo does it only mean painful intercourse near your cycle or can it be inflammed at all other times or is this pain something else & not endo at all? :-(

Im 16 and I don't have a diagnosed condition but most times I have sex I have similar painful symptoms. Should I go to the doctor? I've been with my boyfriend for almost a year and he's constantly apologizing for hurting me. I feel really embarrassed because I'm so young and I should be enjoying sex like my friends not dreading it. Please give me some advice.

I have always had very heavy and very painful periods since I was about 13/14 yrs old. I was put on the contraceptive pill but it didn't help. As I got older I found that intercourse was painful, and has gotten more painful over the years. Having a smear is very painful too. I had been referred to a gynaecologist and had so many visits over a cpl of years. They said it may be endometriosis and recommended a laparoscopy. I have/had a fear of being put to sleep so refused it. I stopped taking the pill and conceived straight away, but had to have an emergency section as I wasn't dilating. I never got past 2cms and baby was getting distressed. During a smear about 6 months after I had my Daughter, my GP told me I had a tilted womb. I had been internally examined so many times and not one person mentioned this to me. Even my GP had done a few smears and never mentioned until that day. I now wonder if this has anything to do with intercourse being painful? And would it have anything to do with me not dilating? Could I actually have a natural delivery if I got pregnant again?

Hi, i gave birth to my first child this year. He is 9 months. I had an all natural vaginal birth and had internal and external taring, i lost quite a lot of bloody. Since having my son i have noticed that the entrance to my vagina looks all (sorry everyone)like the skin has folded, almost like a cauliflower. If i push it comes out more. It isn't painful though sexual intercourse can be painful in some positions now where as it wasn't pre-baby. Also where i had my exteral stiches bleeds often after intercourse. I am very happy with my partner and it hasn't put him off but i am only 21 and i'm feeling horrible about it. I'm too embarassed to approach my doctor as i'm not sure if this is normal after childbirth? Many thanks in anticipation

my husband is on efexor as am i. the problem is that although he gets an erection easily it can be as long as 30 mins between the start and end of intercourse as ejaculation is delayed. as a result we often opt out of full intercourse and use masturbation instead. also i find that intercourse is sometimes painful as it feels like the tip of his penis presses on my cervix. i have seen the doctor about it but she cannot find a reason why it hurts apart from that i have a retroverted womb. my husband really needs the efexor so changing or lessening the dose is not an option. please help as after my gastric bypass surgery in oct we are hoping to start a family next year. many thanks.

Whether this will work or not I don't know, but I'm hopeful.

If you are in pain and bleeding after you have intercourse then you need to make an appointment to see your GP. It may be nothing, or it could be anything from endometriosis to cancer. Obviously cancer is a drastic thing to say, but if you diagnose it early, the better the outcome. I have endometriosis and I know what you're experiencing sounds a lot like those symptoms, infertility, painful intercourse, bleeding as well as many others. If it is, the drs can help you.

i have ingrown hairs when i shave my bikini line and under arms. they can sometimes be painful but most of all they are itchy and make me very conseous. they do not apear until a couple of hours after shaving so during sexual intercourse it can be okay for the first day but i feel like i have to wait until the redness of the spots have gone down until i can have intercourse again. I also find it hard to wear bikinis as i feel conseous about that area. ANY HELP?!

I went through the menopause at 57 two years ago. One area at the base of my vagina has always been tender but split during intercourse if my partner was not careful over the last 10 years, always healing within 3 days. Recently some scar tissue just below my urethra split and was extremely painful. I plan to visit my gp in the hope there's some cream I can apply as lubricant does not help. I want to enjoy intercourse not dread it.

I had a hysterectomy at 38 due to endometriosis, ovaries left in place and breast cancer at 52 then took tamoxifen for 5 years. The last time I had intercourse some 10 years ago it was very painful as was very dry. Canyou advise please, I live abroad.
