I am a 23 year old woman who is overweight, i also have PCOS. I have noticed for a while now that the skin on the inside of the tops of my thighs is going darker than the rest of my skin (which is normally quite pale). Within the large darker areas, more and more very pale white patches are appearing. I am also very recently seeing this on the inside tops of my arms now too. Please help.

hi i have this problem as well i have had it for many years which has stopped doing so many normal things such as going on holiday, in fear of having to go to the beach, a normal sex life because of not wanting to show myself in fear of my partner thinking of me as dirty etc, even to the extent of not having cervical smear test because of it also not sure if anything can be done but im looking into skin bleaching to see if this might help wonder if anyone else can offer any help thanks

I'm quite blonde and very pale. Normally, my skin tone doesn't bother me but after I go abroad I like to have a bit if a tan. I'm quite conscious about skin cancer so always stay in the shade and wear sun cream. Is there any way to get a natural tan without damaging my skin?? xx

I'm 15 and I have a problem with the skin on my vagina. I used to shave a lot when I was on holiday and my skin is sensitive and it became irritated, I scratched it and the skin went really sore, now my skin has healed but its extremely pale white and has been for a couple of years. I just wanted to know if I was the only one who has experienced this problem and if it will go away or not. I'm too scared to go see my GP to ask them because I'm too worried, help? :s

Hi Hayley, Keep an eye on it. If it remains pale go to your Doctor. I can say a few things that can cause this but i don't want you to be concerned with "could be". Keep a log and take a picture bring the pictures with you for the Doctor to see.

I am in my early thirties and have started to get these thread veins (heriditary). However when I was moisturising the other day my skin started bleeding, there wasn't much blood but is this something to be concerned about? I have pale skin/fair hair/freckles in the sun.

I have the same thing n I dont shave or wax or anything

I've got the same blotchy appearance on my skin too and I have been desperate to know why. It started on my hands about 11 months ago, as one little pale blotch (I don't tan well..) and slowly spread. All of my hands are pale..I also have pale patches on my arms, the tops of my feet and the inside of the top of my legs. I watched the programme tonight (10th Feb)and seeing someone else with the same patchy skin made me realise that maybe I can do something about it. It has really upset me having this blotchy skin. Thank you for showing it.

Your color of your nipples do not matter on age. It's your skin tone. Mist tan people have dark nipples while most pale people have pale nipples. Don't be embarrassed everyones boobs are different.

I am 28 and have suffered from excessive facial hair for years. I am pale with very dark hair so even if I wax, you can still see little dark spots under the skin which, from a distance, looks a bit like a blue shadow. I have had 20 sessions of Laser treatment which unfortunately didn't work despite me being told my pale skin and dark hair would make me the perfect candidate. I have found bleaching with occaisional waxing has been the best way for me to keep on top of it.Mineral Make up and light reflective concealer are also quite good for covering the underskin hair that would be visible on pale skin.Obviously these are short term solutions and one of the biggest binds for ladies blessed with this problem is that we have to constantly plan our days around taming our faces! I was concerned my hair was down to a hormone problem so have seen my doctor on several occaisions.after various blood tests that proved I have a higher level of testosterone I have been prescribed the pill Dianette which to be honest has really helped (although not everyone feels the pill is right for them). In the past few years as I have started to feel less like this is something I need to be ashamed of but something that needs to be dealt with. I talk about it openly to my female friends which is liberating!

Hey Ros, i'm exactly the same age and it looks like i could have written your comment. I was crushed when laser did nothing for me. I've been on Dianette which is amazing but came off due to extreme mood swings and no other pill has worked as well. I dread the day when i can't focus on the hairs due to age and miss them, leaving the house hairier than my husband. And i know how it feels having to work your day around your hair. I have to get up hours in advance to try and get every hair and find myself looking in the mirror all day and seeing hairs i've missed and being ashamed. I don't feel like a woman at all. Does anything work for permanent hair removal for people who have tried laser etc and come away poor but hairy?

I've been there. So I suggest you need an appointment with a doctor of GP or GUM. But you don't have STDs or AIDs.

I'm 17 and all my life I've had very red/pink skin on my cheeks so it looks like I'm constantly blushing. I have very pale skin which emphasises the redness even more. During the summer I get freckles which help to disguise it, but in the winter it looks horrible. Is there anything I can do to reduce it?

Hi for at least a couple of years I have noticed that on the insides of both of my thighs the skin is darker than the rest of the skin. I have White quite pale skin and in this area it is a shade of brown. It looks as if it's dirty but it doesn't matter how much I wash the area, nothing happens. It's quite embarassing because I don't like going swimming because of it. I was also too embarassed to see the doctor about it. Can anyone tell me what it is or how I can get rid of it? x

I hate it so much as it makes me look like I am really tired all the time. I have started to wear suncream everyday under my eyes but it dosnt appear to be fading. I try to keep out of the sun as much as possible. I really dont know what to do, is there any skin lightening products that will get rid of it? I would be grateful for any help. Thank you.
