Yes but can these be removed on the nhs or do you have to go private ???

I wouldn't trust any home remedies you read on the internet.. most of them involve using products which dry the skin and make the papules appear smaller, but you can risk cracked skin and other discomforts. I had them removed by a doctor in London who you can find on google. One week after treatment everything had healed and I am now papule free! :) it's worth it trust me.

Hi, I have papules underneath my penis that go from the base to the end, but are more clustered at the base, theyre been there for a long time, is this normal?

If they look like the spots in the pictures then it is probably PPP. I started to notice the papules when I was around fourteen. When I first noticed them there were only one or two papules on the rim. I didn't know what they were and I just ignored them. Then a few months later I noticed that they were getting a little bigger. Then slowly over time they started to spread and appear on other parts of the rim. Now the entire rim of my penis is covered in papules. There are around sixty or seventy papules on my rim and they still appear to be spreading and new rows of papules are forming along the rim. So unfortunately your case is probably going to spread to cover the entire rim of your penis. But they are completely normal and I haven't had any problems with having sex. Most girls don't even notice them and if they do all you have to do is explain what it is and they understand. So they are probably going to spread, but there is nothing to worry about since they aren't harmful.

Im 15,and have those papules round the crown of my penis. i know they are common and harmless, however i will still find it very embaressing when a girl sees them on my penis :S i also have froydce spots and have had 3 normal poppable spots (such as the ones on your face or anywhere) in the past 4 years. Will the papules and froydce spots fade? im mostly concerned about the papules

I spent years worrying about the papules, however I have slept with 4 girls none of which have ever mentioned it. I even brought it up with a girl once and she told me she had never even noticed and I have them really bad. Just chill out you dont have anything to worry about.

That video didn't help me much, I think I have papules but they are lots of them all over my shaft, forskin and ball sack, little white bumps, even if they are just papules I don't want them there, is there anything to get rid of them, I have had them for about 4 years

pearly papules, or penile papules, whatever you like to call them, they're harmless. look them up.

"pearly Penile Papules (PPP) is a clinical skin condition of the male genital organs. The Penile Papules are tiny, white or skin coloured spots that form predominately around the coronal margin of the Glans. The tiny spots often appear in small parallel rows and are 1-3 mm in size. Pearly Penile papules are very common, occurring in about 20% of the male population. The appearance of this condition also means it is often mistaken for a sexually transmitted disease. Pearly Penile papules are a HARMLESS physiological phenomenon with no malignant potential; they ARE NOT INFECTIOUS and in NO WAY related to SEXUAL ACTIVITY or personal hygiene. The Penile Papules usually appear in Men between the ages of 20 and 40 (although have been known to appear in boys as young and 12 and 14), and are typically asymptomatic. The condition will persist throughout life; however; research has shown that they may become less noticeable with increased age." I hope this helps ppl

Hi Mike, blotches and red spots are not uncommon on your head after masturbating. The little white dots under your "eye" are common and normal and not a problem.

It's absolutely normal and not unusual. The thing is called Pearly Penile Papules and you can read more about them here http://www.channel4embarrassingillnesses.com/conditions/pearly-penile-papules/

David is sounds like you have Pearly Penile Papules, which is very normal between the male population. It is said that the dots will slowly go away after the age of 40. Pictures provided in link before. http://www.dermnet.com/images/Pearly-Penile-Papules

im 21 and recently was told when having a sexual health check i have pearly penile papules. However i am a female and every website i try to research more about it, it always says it only occurs in males. My boyfriend has them yet it says you can't give someone pearly penile papules. is it possible for females to have them or do u recommend i go and see my GP?

In my opinion I think masturbation might have something to do with it. I didn't have penile papules until after I started masturbating and that was because I didn't use lube lol (big mistake). So if you want to avoid them or avoid having more papules I suggest always lubricate and maybe try not to masturbate more than 3 times a week. If someone finds a cure let me know :)

That is exactly what happened to me, once I started masturbating at the age of 13/14 years old, I started to see them appearing, I picked them at first and saw after an hour or so, that it was a bad idea. I am now 16 and I haven't been worried because it hasn't been so severe for me and I thought it was just going to go at the age of 18ish. I am glad I found this as I now know what they are and don't have to be worried for the rest of my life. Fun Fact: I found out that 20% of males have PPP, so we aren't alone!

Hi I have small white papules running in two uniformed lines around the edge of the head of my penis, I have looked this up online (after visiting the doctor who had no idea what it was and fobbed me of with some cream) and discovered it is pearly penile papules but although i now know what it is I have been unable to find a cure for this condition. Please help there must be something to cure this as it is very unsightly and massivly affecting my life

I was 63 years old when I had two pearly papules grow on the corona of my penis. They both became large and hard to touch. I showed them to my dermatologist and she removed them. The only pain I experienced was when she stuck me in the penis with a needle to inject me with an medication to numb me before burning off the papules. There was some bleeding during the surgery but everything healed up fine, no damage to the penis and they have not returned.

You can have laser surgery to remove the papules, but it isn't a common practice. The doctor will apply a topical analgesic to numb the penis and then use a laser to remove the papules. You won't feel anything during the surgery, but it will swell and scab for a week or two.

I believe that they are Pearly Penile Papules. http://www.channel4embarrassingillnesses.com/episodes/episode-guides/embarrassing-bodies-series-4/episode-2--weston/pearly-penile-papules/

There are so many different possibilities. Search the Internet for these key words: papules; hair follicles and sebaceous (sweat) glands; pearly penile papules; Fordyce spots (which I suspect is what you are seeing); Psoriasis (which is an inherited skin disease but you would have these spots all over your body, not just your penis). You can find photos on the Internet and compare them to what you are seeing. As I said, I suspect that what you have is Fordyce spots. It you cannot find a good match between yourself and what you see on the Internet, then time to see a doctor, but have your GP refer you to a good specialist in this area.
