Hi, has anyone heard of tonsiliths or tonsil stones. I think I have them at the moment and don't know how to get rid of them. They are white stuff/spots on the tonsils. They are a build up of food/ plaque etc.. that stick in the crevices of your tonsils and create BAD BREATH! I used to get these as a teenager and was given and endless array of antibiotics. Dunno why they have come back. Any advice welcome.

I have these too..please let me know if u find a cure I hate them and they get me down.

hi i have these. its caused by bacteria getting stuck in the holes in the tonsil area. These holes were ment to get smaller and close up with age but some remain big. therefore all food and bacteria accumilate in the holes. I dig mine out with cotton buds and wipe over the area with a chlorhexidine based mouthwash. I think if you want and the doctor says you can have the tonisl area removed or quarterized. But it will always get stuck in there unless you get them out! hope that helps

I have a problem with tonsil stones that drives me crazy. I don't have bad breath all the time, usually when I am having sinus trouble. I have begged my husband to tell me when he smells my breath, but he won't do it because he doesn't want to hurt my feelings. For the past couple of months I have been using a sinus rinse/neti pot in morning and before bed. I drink 2 oz of water mixed with 2 oz of apple cider vinegar. I am using a water pik with vinegar water and I haven't had a problem with the stones since. I still am not sure it is because of this new routine or I'm just not having a problem at the moment, but none of these things can hurt.

I too suffer from chronic bad breath. Recently I had a cat scan done and found out there was large amounts of feces in the intestines. I was told to take more fiber like Metamucil and drink saline laxitives such as magnesium citrate. I'm slowly beginning to notice a change, however the odor is still there, especially after eathing. Nevertheless, I do see some improvements. Perhaps your odor is intestinal related as well??

I am 30 years old and have been diagnosed with Peyronies, I get bad pain when having sex which makes it off putting and sometimes pain when my penis is soft. I dont however have any curve in my penis. When I saw the urologist he explained the operation to correct the curve and shorten the penis but when i explained there is no curve he told me that the procedure requires it. I am confused? why would he shorten my penis when there is no curve? I feel that i just need the plaque removed. In fact although i have a whole vein that is hard and lumpy, it is only a particular nodule that causes the pain. I have also noticed that I cant always aim straight when urinating. I have scanned the internet but it appears that i am the only one without a curve. Please help, I am still young and This is affecting my life.

Your not the only one, my husband too does not have the curve.

IF YOU CAN GET RID OF THE PLAQUE AT LEAST ONCE A DAY YOU SHOULD BE OK. TRY AN ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH CORDYSIL GEL AS WELL AS FLURIDE TOOTHPASTE, BUT FOLLOW CORDYSIL INSTRUCTIONS, AND USE DISCLOSING TABLETS TO MAKE SURE YOU REALLY ARE GETTING RID OF THE PLAQUE. ITS ALL ABOUT PLAQUE CONTROL.

I have a hole at the left side of my throat near my tonsil which collects plaque. It smells horrible and i have to constantly scrape away this plaque with my finger. Is there anything that can be done about it

Tonsil stones are usually caused by diet and oral hygiene. If you cut your carbs, drink water and brush 2x a day you shouldnt get them. Theyre made up of deposits of plaque that harden and get trapped into pits at the back of your throat. Brushing well, and removing plaque effectively should sort it out.

you may have developed a traumatic peyronie's plaque, that is to say that the injury has caused bruising but more importantly scarring to your penis that is the plaque or gristle that you may be able to feel. It is this gristle that limits expansion of the penis leading to the curvature. perhaps all will settle and you'll be able to have problem free sex in the future, but if it doesn't you do need to see your doctor

Curvature is normal, but there can be extreme cases. In some of the extreme cases there is a build-up of plaque on the side your penis is curving towards. This plaque can be surgically removed, but that doesn't mean it won't reappear. In one case I knew of, the young man had the surgery and was very pleased with the results - for several months, but slowly it started to curve back. If you explore the surgical option, please be sure to find a urologist who has plenty of experience with this and who has a track record of good results.

Yes, it is possible to get white marks on your teeth because of braces, this is called a White Spot Lesion and is an early sign of dental decay. It is caused when plaque bacteria sits around the bracket and isnt removed daily. When plaque bacteria sits next to the tooth it feeds on sugars in your diet and in turn releases acids which can slowly destroy the enamel on your tooth. If you continuously fail to remove the plaque from your teeth daily then there is a possibility it can turn into a cavity (hole in your tooth). Best way to avoid it is by using a fluoride t/paste (containing no less than 1450ppm fluoride in it) x2/daily and use a daily fluoride rinse at a different time to brushing. If you think you might have some white marks keep brushing with a fluoride toothpaste, to reharden the tooth tissue. If you have any concerns or difficultly in cleaning any hard to reach areas in your mouth, then speak to your dentist or a dental hygienist and they will be able to recommend a suitable method of removing the plaque from a particular area. (Just to let you know that yes it is possible to get white marks on your teeth by flurosis, but this usually happens when the intake of fluoride is too much and this usually happens when you are young. Usually the white marks you get on your teeth when you have braces is due to a sugary diet and lack of thorough toothbrushing x2 daily)

Some bending is normal, but when it causes problems, then it's time to consult the experts - and your gp would NOT be an expert, although he might be a good place to start in referring you to an expert. One of the causes of the bending is a build-up of plaque on the inside of the penis. Surgery can remove this, but there is no guarantee that the plaque won't start building up again. One guy I knew of had the surgery and was very pleased for several months, but eventually it began to bend again, resulting in a 30 degree bend to the left. This is why it will be important for you to find someone who has good results, not only in the short-term, but also in the long-term. You may want to consider a urology department in a major university school of medicine.

sometimes it can be plaque building up, its normal, just give it a clean once in a while and it will go away

Hello, I have had very bad breath for about two year now. I brush my teeth every day, twice a day for up to four minuets. I have tried mouthwash, plaque chews and I have asked my dentist but even he is uncertain. Help please! P.S I'm 13 years old.

i have been diagnosed with p.d.,it started one year ago and began with refered pain towards the tip of the penis after intercourse.on examining myself i found two hard lumps at the base of the penis, after ultrasound it was found that they were calcifications.one year on they have increased in size and multiplied,as a result i have no curviture?,just a slight loss in length ,narrowing at the centre shaft when flaccid and a bulge at the sight of blood flow restiction and denting on the underside when erect.i remember being knocked heavily at work in this area and i think thats what caused internal bleeding and subsequent healing, then plaque formation and finally calcifications.the urology dept have offered no help or advice whatsoever, this is a worrying condition and can be desructive to a good marriage.the moral of this story is your on your own when it comes to treatment, but if you have hurt yourself there are some things that can help to prevent the plaque formation and possible advancement of this condition but nothing is proven.i hope this is helpful ,kind regards ps avoid surgery it could make things worse

I am 14 and I had teeth discolouration since I was 9 this resulted me being called names and in some cases bullying I really need some support and the dentist won't do anything because he doesn't know what it is I think it's serious plaque but as you see I don't drink coffe or eat any beet root .

Hi, If possible i would like help with my 11 year old daughter. When she was younger she had an accident and fell on her face - which effected her mouth, one tooth chipped and a few got dislodged. Because her mouth was so painful she couldnt clean her teeth properly. The majority of them were ok, however, when her adult teeth started coming through her teeth became so painful she found cleaning her teeth even worse. Even when i would try and do them for her she would cry. Now she is eleven and her back teeth on one side are extremely bad. They are so heavily covered in plaque when she smiles and talks you can see them, and also her breathe is extremely bad. I have taken her to dentists - who she does see regularly but they feel as they are milk teeth they willl fall out and her mouth will be fine. HOwever, i feel the adult teeth underneath her rotten teeth are also getting ruined. Her teeth cause quite a few arguements within the house as she doesn't like to clean them because of the pain. We've even tried to bribe her with things in exchange for her to wobble her bad teeth but this still doesn't work. In an ideal world i would like for her to have all of her bad and rotten milk teeth removed and all of the plaque removed from new adult back teeth. However - this is not a route the dentist want to take.

Hi There, I feel for you and understand how embarrassing this can be. I also suffer from psorisis on the back of my scalp and my vagina. I have had it for 18 years now and have hidden it due to embarassment. I hate feeling itchy all the time and it restricts my sex life a lot. I feel this condition has stripped me of my confidence. Would love to hear of any treatment that could help.

I have also suffered from bad breath and have found the answer, it is from small white balls of plaque which are present inside my tonsils. They work their way out and have a foul smell when crushed between your fingers. Look them up on wikepedia ' tonsil stones'.
