    Stretch Marks

Lines on the skin that start off as raised red lines, before turning purple, and then slowly fading into flat silvery streaks. Stretch marks happen when the skin is stretched a lot over a short period of time, such as during pregnancy. Read more →

I don't know how to put this really, but here goes, every time me and my partner have sexual intercourse. My urine hole looks purple on the inside. And the entrance of the vagina has a thin layer of white skin that peels off . The sex didnt hurt at all.. And I'm sure the white skin isn't from friction either. My main concern is the purple urine hole ?

I'm 15 and i noticed quite small purple lumps around my anus which get a little bigger and more purple when i push. They aren't painful or itchy but sometimes i notice a little bit of blood on the toilet roll and i don't go to the toilet that much (around twice a week). I'm pretty sure they are haemorrhoids but not sure if they are internal or external. i also have a small skin coloured lump a bit above my anus which isn't painful or itchy or anything, does it sound like a skin tag?? please help.

These are your labia minora and feature in **every** vagina, so unfortunately for your boyfriend, it's something he'll have to get used to. It would be very dangerous to attempt to get rid of them. Also, remember that sexual activity is illegal in the UK if you are under the age of 16.

I have the exact same problem and am also 14. I hate it so much and am petrified to tell my mum.

Hey, i'm 15 and i have this sort of purple/pinkish rash on my penis skin, like, not near the head or anything, just on the skin part, and it's very rough, it doesn't cause any sexual or normal problems, i just don't like it there, Any idea what it could be and how to get rid of it? Thanks

I'm 13 and have noticed that there is are some purple/dark purple spots around my vagina. They have been there for a while now.. They don't hurt and they aren't lumps. I'm scared to tell my mum about these. I have never shaved it but I do give it some trims. I'm really worried, about these and I really want to know if they are harmful. Thanks for your help

I have had this too. I was immediately concerned because my mother had some serious problems down there and I thought might be hereditary.. But don't worry it is really common and nothing to worry about. I went to the doctor and she examined me. They are just little blood spots, completely harmless. If they are the same as I have they are very small and they disappear a little huge pressure and then are back straight away? Although nothing to worry about, you should try to speak to your mum or go the doctor just to check. Remember, doctors see this kind of thing all the time.

Google this term angiokeratomas. If this sounds lie what you have, you can stop worrying. :)

I have had an unsightly skin tag for some time now and it has never caused me any problems and has always been my normal skin colour. However I have just noticed tonight that it is very swollen and is a reddish purple colour and slightly sensitive to touch. Have I got anything to worry about? Emma

I am a 20 year old pale skinned female and I have this embarrassing problem where the skin on my legs and the back of my hands hands turns purple and blotchy. The skin on my hands has this mottled thread-like appearance, it looks like you can see the little veins under the skin. I have had this ever since I was a child but it used to only happen when I was cold. Now it happens all the time but it goes away if I am lying down or exercising. If I stand still my legs go really purple and they look like the legs of a dead person. It's particularly difficult in summer when I see everyone else in shorts and skirts and I have to cover up.

I'm a young man of 20, I've had like very brite purple veins showing on my feet and Knee area since I was about 16. I don't suffer any pain or anything, but they do seem to discolour the area with a dull, almost purple colour to my skin. Is this likely to be vericose veins?

I found 4 purple indents on the inside of my thigh in mid November - it looks to be if a 4 nail marks has been made on my skin and they are still there. The purple colour is starting to spread down my thigh. I thought it would eventually disappear but it has not. It is not sore but get a small tingling sensation every so often. Could this be the start of varcoise veins?

I've had a skin tag under my armpit for at least ten years now! Occasionally it would become irritated to the point of severe pain, and it would be red and angry-looking. A couple of days ago, I experienced this again, and decided to get rid of it! A forum on the internet recommended tea-tree oil to get rid of it in 2-4 weeks. I put a drop of tea-tree oil on the skin tag and covered it with a plaster to stop my clothes irritating it further. It's been 36 hours since I first applied tea-tree oil. I would leave the plaster on overnight and then replace it in the morning with a new plaster and more tea tree oil. At first, it went pale, then red-purple last night, and finally black-purple this morning (like a bruise), so I applied my last lot of tea-tree oil this morning and checked on it tonight - the base of the skin tag was looking very thin, so I pulled the skin tag off. It didn't hurt, but it bled a little. I have a flat, slightly raised area, although I'm attributing this to the skin tag being there for so long. I hope this comment helps someone! :)

Hi, I have a the same coloured skin to yourself except it effects only my hands. I've asked my G.P about the way the skin is on my hands before but he said it was the winter weather that effects my hands but they never look a healthy colour and feel cold or clammy most of the time.

I got stretchmarks when I was 12 on the sides and inside of my thighs from a growth spurt. I thought I was never gonna get rid of them and I had them for two-three years. They were bright purple and it was really unattractive, I used the Lady Soma Stretch Mark treatment twice per day when I was relaxing and I swear in about a week or two the bright purple scars faded, fast and were then skin colored -  in a little and after 3-4 weeks they were completely gone. really is the best thing ever for stretchmarks

Holly (18th April) By the sounds of it, these white spots are sebaceaous glands, and nothing to be worried about. Do you also have that weird purple chicken skin on your arms or thighs too, as this often comes with it - a condition called keratosis polaris, or something like that. Its completely harmless, just the way your skin is. I have all this too, so I did some research on the net a while back.

I have had impetigo since I was a small child,I am nearly 30 now.. I must have tried every lotion and potion on the market,I have found Fucidin to be the most effective, some treatments can be very drying on the skin. Gentian violet even dyes the skin purple, just what you need, when you feel selfconcious enough lol. The problem is they only work for a while and I tend to get flareups, it's very annoying..

I am in my 30s and suffer from impetigo around my nose and have done on and off since in my 20s (seems to come everytime I get a cold). Like everyone else I have very good hygine. I've been told in adults its normally just down to the fact some people are carriers and it is carried inside you nose. Espeically when your immune system is low it flares. Tea tree can help (if you find you get a tingle before it appears apply when/where you feel the tingle sometimes it can stop it from coming...but the only thing to get rid of it once it does come is by using prescribed cream from the docs.. I do agree it looks horrible, makes you feel rough and seems to take at least a week to go even with the cream. VERY annoying but then again I suppose there are much worse things in life...
