Hi, I'm 26, male, wheat-coloured skin and I have severe acne scars all over my face, back and shoulder. I get puss nodules often and have lumps on my face. I also have black colouring (skin darkening) as background on my forehead and cheeks. Overall it's so bad and frustrating that It feels terrible to look at my face in the mirror. When I'm in conversation, most people either avoid looking into my face or keeping rolling their eyes on my scars. It's very embarrassing. Please help. Thanks.

I'm a 14 year old girl and I have had acne for 3 years and I hate it. I asked my parents if I could go to a dermatologist to get it checked out but they said it wasn't that bad and it'll go away eventually. They said the same thing when I was 11 and now it's gotten worse. I only get inflamed spots every so often but I still get them quite alot, they usually are there on my face for about 2-3 weeks and about 3 or 4 come on my face at a time. It looks like loads of pimples covering my face and most of them are white heads. There is not one bit of my face that is smooth and it looks constatly dirty even though my face is perfectly clean. I get so paranoid and I'm so self concious. I also have quite bad scarring from the inflamed spots that I have had. It's the kind of scarring where the spots that you have had leaves dark marks. Even when I don't pick a spot it still leaves me with scarring. I also have some on my back, my chest, my arms and my neck. I'm not worried about these though. My question is "How do get rid of my acne and acne scars?" and "How do I prevent more acne from coming on my face and anywhere else on my body?"

When i was about that age I got a special topical Zinc treatment from my GP which significantly improved the skin on my face and neck. Although yours sounds a little worse than mine was, it might be worth just asking your GP for a topical gel/cream. (Maybe you are old enough to get an appointment without your parents?) No harm in trying! Another thing you could try is wearing a very light make up such as 'bare minerals' which boosted my confidence and also stopped me from constantly touching my face which was making things worse! I'm 22 now and still don't have perfect skin but it does get better with time, don't worry!

my face mainly my cheeks are always bright red, some days are better than others. i live in Scotland and when it is sunny most Scots are like yaay sun and i'm just like oh god because it makes my face even more red. Also i am normally cold which i don't mind but my face is ALWAYS hot, it's uncomfortable ! do you think i have that condition called rosacea, i am only 15 and it is normally in adults but i think i may have it. i don't have like the spots and things it talks about just the redness but i may just be in the early stages. thanks, natalie x :)

heyy, ive had the same problem as you for like 2 years, since i was about 14 so you're not the only one to get it young. my face is constantly red and it always gets worse when i'm outside in the weather. i recently walked past this skin convention thing in my local shopping centre, and asked for help and they said it was rosacea. All you can really do is use foundation with high coverage and try to accept it.. hopefully we'll both grow out of it! hope this helped a bit :)

Hi, dont worry, ur not alone, I have it too, im 22, and just by chance, i met some fit girl in a club who seemed to have it too, so without talking about it, we both had something in common and turns out we got on really well! if you dont ever get rid of it, (i still havent) im sure u will find ways of dealing with it (like clinique red relief cream) and dont let it get u down too much!

My face is always red and i've lost my confidence because of it. I'm so paranoid that my face is getting redder during the day that i have to keep checking in the mirror. If my face isn't red when i get up, i know it's going to be red by the time i get to school. Always by 4 o clock i'm looking like a beetroot!! Even resting my face on a cushion or pillow, washing my hair and watching tv and going on the computer makes my face red. Everyone thinks i'm always embarrassed and it's really making me upset. Please help!!!

My heart goes out to you because i have been going through this for over twenty years iam 44 now so i have been so depressed i took an over dose and also felt like a circus freak . I try to keep it at bay by using imac on my face which burns so for ten mins after i take it off i splash ice cold water on my face to cool it .this is no life for any woman only those of us with this problem can understand how on a daily baics it affects us depression not wanting to go out side afraid to face people hiding ur face from people its hopeless and no way to live is there a way even just to remove the hair from the face just to face the world please help

i really wouldnt put e45 on it, that is juat going to make your face more oily and make more spots on your face. you need something that will dry your face but this will leave you with patches on dry skin on your face. the only other thing i can recommend is to keep your clean, perhaps clean your face with a cleanser 2/3 times a day

hi,i am 27 years old and i have many (20/40) flat warts on my face/neck, but i am not so sure what treatment i should use, many treatments are for foot, hands or genital but most of them are not recommended on face for many reasons... i can not shave my face because if i do it i would get more and more, that provokes me stress and i do not feel comfortable to talk to people... also i just find out that my partner is starting to get some on his face too, that means it is obviously my fault and soon will multiply on his face too... my GP only gave me a gel normally used for genital warts which did not work... i need help,i had those warts on my face for too long and i really want to find a good treatment before my partner is going to get plenty of warts on his face too. thanks

Hi, I have the same condition and have tried duct taping them for a week which didn't help. Seems like Kruse to be done for longer which is impossible in my situation. Now I am trying teatree oil on the warts, applying it directly twice a day. I had a big one right below my eye and half of it dried up. I keep clipping the dried part with a small scissors. Hopefully it will come off. Would have to wait and see. The laser treatment is the best, but you would need atleast 2 sittings Its too expensive in UK I think!

Try Bazeka WITH tree oil it works like magic

My face is covered in spots and it's really depressing me. I've tried numerous face scrubs and it has had little effect. Recently I started wearing concealer but have sufferered embarassing comments as i'm a boy. It has got to a point where I want to rip my face off or pour chemicals over my face just so I wouldn't have any acne left. I have had it since Year 5. Im 14.

My face and arms go very red when im in the gym or at work. i work outdoors and my face can go red from just standing outside. I had the same problem. I had one on the right hand side of my face, it started off as a small lump which the doctor told me should go down but around a month later it had tripled in size and was very obvious even with sideburns. Eventually I found a doctor who was able to give me antibiotics which seemed to stop it from getting any bigger and he referee me to a specialist who put me on a waiting list to have to removed on the NHS. After a month of waiting and raking antibiotics it began to start leaking liquid and puss, I was very uncomfortable as I always felt it could leak out puss at anytime so one night I tried to squeeze it and managed to fill tissues full of it, iver adequate days of this I noticed a considerable difference in size and it soon seemed to completely disappear, I still have a small Mark where it used to be but other than that it's fine now. ..... Oh and 4 months after this the NHS told me a slot came available if I wanted it, by which time it was far to late!

For anyone that wants to rid of red marks or acne put lemon juice on your face & also drink a lemon a day mixed with luke warm water. I have deep ice pick scars on my face & would love to get rid of them but would more so just like to love my face & be able to except them :'( It really is unfair, I'm 31, a single mum, & hate my face, it's wrecking my life..

My daughter (7 years old) has some warts on her face- just under her lip. They appeared about two months ago and looks to me that they grow bigger now. The doctor, her GP, did not reccommend anything for the face and said they should dissapear on its own after several months, but I am still worried. Can I try any treatement, apart from freezing as it might cause a scare, and because it is on her face we wouldn't like leaving a permanent scare on her face. Can somebody advise me what is the best to do?

My daughter has several warts on her fingers and now also has one under her lip and also some lumps in her mouth.(due to chewing the warts and sucking her fingers). The GP was reluctant to freeze any of them at first but we went back and insisted that she did them (as nothing else we did seemed to be working). The GP is now refering my daughter to a dermotologist. She was going to freeze the one under her lip but my daughter wouldn't let her. I can't understand why they would not freeze the finger warts but were happy to do the one on the face? It seems like every doctor tells people different things!

THUJA, small white tablet from health food shop. They are brilliant and really work. Takes a few weeks but hey, no freezing or scarring etc! Good luck

I have been getting really deep red spots around my t-zone that are so painful, but they never surface so I can not do anything to release the pressure building up within them. Tried everything - antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, special face washes/face masks - no effect whatsoever, and the pores on my face are very large and oily with many blackheads. It's very depressing and everyone points them out to me - I'd rather have loads of little spots than 3 or 4 massive ones hurting my face!!

I know just how you feel. I have a port wine stain on my face and had treatments as a child but stopped them as I didn't understand how it would help me. I got some more treatment as a teenager. I now want more as some of the colouring has come back, but my current PCT won't fund it, even though past ones have. I am upset by this and I hate the so called postcode lottery. Have you approached your doctor for a referal to see if your PCT will fund it? Good luck, Emma

hello, my name is also amy, im 18 and i have a birthmark covering my face, neck, chest, partly on my back and leg. the birthmark on my face also caused me to have glaucoma. i have tried laser treatment and it didnt work. i dont know what else to do as no doctors have any answers. it makes me very self conscious, i cant leave my house without my perscription birthmark cover-up make up, i am very shy and cannot seem 2 gain confidence whatever i try. i was thinking the only option left is to have tattoo over my face to look like a normal skin tone? does ANYONE know if this is possible? or is there anything else i could do? PLEASE HELP!
