I became really ill, 10 months ago, and started to feel sick constantly and have really bad headaches. Then a few weeks later my glands started to swell. So I have been felling like this (feeling sick, having headaches and had swollen glands) for 10 months now. My doctor has just left it now as I have been tested a lot of times for many different things, refered to hospital and am on tablets to improve my head. However I became really ill again last friday and woke up the next morning to have two new bigger swollen glands and a swollen face. Any suggestions of what it could be, or to improve my symptoms.

Hi, I have noticed a lump on my labia majora, it is soft, and much like the glands you have on your neck, it is about the size ot a thumb nail, and doesnt hurt or itch. I am pretty sure it is just a gland, and i have had glandular fever and this caused my glands to enlarge slightly and they haven't really gone back since. I'm just curious if this could be a sign of anything serious. Thanks

I have 35 yr old implants. I think one has ruptured and the other is hard.Because it is considered cosmetic surgery insurance won't pay for me to have them removed and replaced I don't know what to do. Any idea of the cost for this procedure? Will any insurances pay for this

I have just had mine replaced after 23 years because mine both had ruptured. I originally had them done on the NHS. They did offer to take them out but not replace them after a 2 year fight so I paid private. The cost was £5160. I'm still getting over procedure it wasn't what it was like first time around I have a lot more pain and discomfort. Not sure about insurance paying my guess is not. Good luck.

Hi my name is Phil and I am a 53 year old man and I was circumcised just over 16 years ago. For a few years now when I masturbate it gets sore on the left hand side just where the shaft joins the glands. I have seen my doctor a couple of times about it and she gave me some cream to put on it. The cream does help but it keeps happening. Just lately while examining it while erect on the right hand side it looks different the join between the shaft and glands looks better but on the left it is tight and when erect it pulls the glands down on that side is there anything that can be done to loosen it off as I am sure that's what is making it sore. An help would be appreciated as I am finding the soreness quite painful at times. I am unsure if I should go back to doctors again a I feel I am being a nuisance especially as it needs to be erect to show the difference between the two sides. I am really unsure what to o right now hopefully I will find some help on here.

I have recently used Sure for men roll on deoderant across my chest rather than just under my arms, bascally because it smelled nice on the body. However, I have developed what appears to be prickly heat. I have read that this condition is caused by the blocking of sweat glands and wonder if the deoderant has had the effect of blocking the sweat glands on my chest where the rash has broken out. Haven't used the deoderant since, but even 10 days or so later the itchines is still there. Do you think this diagnosis may be correct?

Hi A week ago the skin on my penis glands became very wrinkled looking and dry at the rear on the shaft underneath the glands. After a couple of days the skin shed off and everything looks normal. Now the foreskin feels ever so slightly sore and when I urinate it is a little uncomfortable but not painful. I have not been in sexual contact with anybody for 2yrs but I do masturbate a couple of times a week. I do wash under the foreskin everyday when I shower and do use soap which has never caused a problem. Any suggestions?

I am now 38 yrs old, and have been having pain in my testicles since I was 22. My sperm glands swell If I don't ejaculate every one to two days. If I wait any longer my sperm comes out in lumps and is often a yukky yellowish colour. I have had two different courses of antibiotics, been for surgery to remove kidney stones which were originally blamed for the discomfort. Still to this day, even as I'm typing my glands have swollen because I haven't ejaculated in two days. Doctors just don't tell you anything and discharge you. How can this be happening? I have been admitted to hospital in pain at least four times in the past 16 years and still none the wiser?

Thanks for posting, Kendo. I thought I was alone. I have had the exact same symptoms for last 20 years. If I go more than 2 days without ejaculating, my semen becomes lumpy and yellow. I also get some pressure in the lower left abdominal area, which is generally relieved when I ejaculate. Been on Cipro, and a range of lesser anti-biotics over the years. Believe it or not, Olive Leaf Extract capsules (with a min. of 12% olipurin) and lot's of water has helped a little. Kendo, I noticed you originally posted on JAN 28 '11. Have you recieved any good advice since then? If so, please pass it on.

you might suffer from a sweat glad problem where your sweat glands cant control your BO and water release from your body or it could be where your sweat glands have been blocked to your body sweats more to try and unblock the glands. talk to your gp's about it they might tell you about gland scraping which clears out your sweat glands and should help stop the sweating best wishes

Like Joe said, these are oil / sweat glands. The're supposed to be there. Everyone has them! Some folks have glands you can see and other lucky folks have glands you can't see. Don't worry. Dicks come in all shapes and sizes.

I was worried that I had something wrong with my vulva and that area as there were little spots down there. I had it looked at by a doctor who said they were just glands that excrete mucus and stuff (not nice i know) but they are normal (everyone has glands there) and sometimes they fill like the glands elsewhere in your body. he said to only really worry if they hurt or are sore or get loads bigger. so the spots on your vagina might be that, but it is worth getting it checked out

Hi, I'm 18 and I've got a tight foreskin. I can only retract it when flacid but it doesn't always go back over the glands. When erect I can only get the foreskin over half of the glands without it hurting. Also with having a tight foreskin for so long the glands are really sensitive and kind of hurts when they are touched or rubbed. It's stopping me from being in relationships as it makes me conscious of what girls are going to think and if I'm going to be able to have sexual contact and I get quite embarrassed by it. Can anyone help?

could it have been caused by over stimulation of the glands in your breasts. when i was pregnant i was told that stimulating the glands in your breasts helps to produce milk so it could be a result of groping.

Kelly hate to say this - but the removal of sweat glands is not the answer.I have a dear friend who suffered terribly with sweaty palms - her hands looked as if she had water taps fitted & she used to get so embarrassed by them. She foolishly had an operation to remove or tie her sweat glands, but this is a risky operation and the poor woman ended up with a droopy eye & all one side of her face dropped. She bitterly regrets having the operation done. Our sweat glands are there for a reason, I know in my youth I used to sweat quite profusely and foolishly I used some pretty strong anti-persperants - like Mitcham - which contain some pretty powerful chemicals. It was only after using that stuff that my HS came to the fore - I find now that I am in stage 3 of HS, that I rarely sweat - it's as if I somehow blocked my sweat glands with strong anti-persperants & deodorants and now for my body to get rid of the toxins it does it by forming HS lumnps & bumps.Just an idea I have for explaining HS. Don't forget to sign the petition site, if only we could get the medical scientist to research our rotten disease.I'm sure in this day & age they could come up with an answer.

I'm 15 and I've recently been able to pull back my foreskin. But when I do, my glands are sort of 'multicoloured'! The base of the glands is deep purple, the majority of it is picky red and some bits are whitish! The base looks bruised! Also, my forskin seems to be really tight, especially when i get an erection. Could you please help me by giving me some advice? Thanks.

I used to have a long loose foreskin which would not stay retracted. The inner lining was thin and delicate and easily inflamed, sounds a bit like yours in that respect. My GP was very dismissive which put me off resolving the problem for years until I eventually went private and had a circumcision - marvellous, I wish I'd got around to it sooner. If anyone out there is thinking about circumcision and is unsure, don't hesitate any further - if your GP won't help you, there are now plenty of circumcision services locatable via the internet. No man should have to suffer in discomfort or embarrassment when there is such a wonderful solution. You really do need to think beforehand about the style of result you want - between high/low and tight/loose - if your inner skin is overly sensitive you want "low" to remove most of it and "tight" is the more hygenic (a "loose" style can still collect sweat and smegma around the rim which can smell when you use a urinal as the remnant skin is likely to roll back off the glans). Your glans will be sensitive for a while until it gets used to the new regular contact with your underwear and then you'll wonder what all the anxiety was about.

I think what your talking about are either infected sweat glands or Pearly Penile Papules of PPP's for short. I have some of these too, and because I was worried of having an STI I researched them. Turns out they are just a skin condition and unless we really want then removed, they are there for life. The infected sweat glands are also nothing to worry about and i'm not sure if they go away either. Hope I helped!

Hi, I'm a 17 year old male I've got a tight foreskin and have been stretching for a weeks now and made good progress I can now almost see the whole glands area unlike before. Recently my glands have gone white on both sides on the head and the centre is a normal redish colour, I don't think its smegma because there is no smell from as far as I know anyway. What could it be? I'm really worried could it be from the stretching? No pain or discomfort from the penis. Lee.

Hello Lee, This is exactly what happend with me and I was worried about it also. After a time the white color will change and look the same as the rest of the glans so please do not stress yourself. I was told by my GP at the time that the whiteness was the result of the glans being exposed for the first time.

I would just like to add to what Dan said to you. In addition to what he said, it is also possible that the white slimy and sticky stuff coming out during erection is pre-cum, a natural lubricant that prepares the inside of your penis for releasing the sperm that Dan explained to you. These two different substances come from two different glands in your body: the sperm comes from the testicles and the pre-cum comes from your prostate and cowpers glands. Both are totally normal and natural.

hi Lisa its your apocine glands that cause the problem they are a type of sweat gland located mainly where u have a lot of body hair, your glands on your throat are reacting to the levels of inflammation in your body I have my levels checked regularly at my hs clinic via blood test. Hope that helps I've been suffering for 16 years now and its not getting any easier

I have suffered with soar throats since I was a child but in September I got tonsilitus a few days after returning home from holiday. I then got it again the day after Boxing Day and since then I have got it every 2/3 weeks starting with swollen glands and turning into what I felt was tonsilitus feeling extremely I'll sometimes leaving me sick for over a week. Last time I had it I felt like fire was coming out my ears and my tonsils were on fire. I went to the docters and she told me there was nothing wrong with me. I went home and worked out it could be because of bad mould in my bedroom. I swapped bedrooms with my brother and I have since caught it again I started with swollen glands and a sore throat it's not turned into the pain it usually causes me but my throat is tight and I have swollen glands. I am currently seeing an ENT but he just said make a diary. Can anyone offer advice?

I had the same problem months ago and learned just over the weekend that I have genital herpes (HSV-1). If you are sexually active, you should frequently get tested for STD's (many of them cause painful, swollen lymph glands). My partner had never shown any symptoms, but I still contracted it from him. If you're not sexually active, anything from stress to mono can cause the swollen glands.
