yup its a fairly common form of OCD - go to the doctors, therapies are very helpful in dealing with in and the sooner you seek help the better.

From excessive cocaine abuse not only is the center area the septal, wall is now comoletely gone. The multiple holes that once dotted rhe far depths of my nose begin to connect and eventually the holes cleared everthing out. Niw I have these large scabs that are almost to big to pull out with tweezers . Now when I look inside my nose theres no holes or tissue, just an open area with scabs that I cant pull out..im not sure if it is vone or just a scab.

For the past2 months I have had chronic itching all over my body and I mean all over, from my head to my toes and every-where in between. It's there all the time but worse at night. The rash that appears is like measles. I haven't changed any of my products and have tried all sorts of creams to calm it but nothing has worked. My scalp became full of scabs and the doctor did perscribe some lotion and antibiotics, the scabs cleared up but the itching is still there. I can't sleep (it's now 4am and am up writing this! I don't drink or smoke but I do have high blood pressure which I'm taking medication for, I am slowly being driven mad!

i think you should just stay carm , there is lots of diffrent types of rashes like usally if i get cold i itch really bad and get weird bumbs its totally weird im just saying coming from a 12 year old i would stay carm and then if it does not clear up in a year go and see the embarissing bodies clinic ! :)

On the head of the penis it just keeps scabbing. I have had this issue for aslong as I can remember, I think it started just after I got circumcised when I was a young boy. The head of the penis scabs up and i kind of peel it off, Sometimes when I pull a scab off it bleeds. There is never odd colors or anything like that just normal scabs. I have been to many doctors (approx 5) and they have all had no idea what it is exactly and have prescribed me creams to see if it works but nothing has stopped this problem. I have been tested for HIV, Herpes and so forth and all have come back negative. I have had this for years and it has always been a barrier and I am keen to find a fix for this problem. I hope you can help.

are you going to the same doctor or different ones since maybe another doctor may have an idea if you havent tried that already.

I have noticed for well over a week now that when I go to sleep and during the day a series of scabs will appear in my left nostril, this cause me a lot of discomfort to the point where my nostril feels like it is stuck together and I find my self having to put my finger into my nose and push it outwards to ease the discomfort, this is very embarrassing for me as I attend college and having to do that infront of people isn't very nice for myself or others, it al and it is also painful to touch and everytime I move my nose it hurts, can anybody help me with this? I have been given a cream from the doctor to put up my nostril to clear the scabs but it hasn't helped at all?

Are the scabs yellow. If so its impetigo. I had that a few years back. They can give you cream if you go to the dr

I pick my eyebrows, they then develop scabs which I pick until they bleed. would you say this is a form of Trichotillomania? I'm also embarrassed to say I still suck my thumb at 39yrs!So I tend to suck my thumb and pick my eyebrows at the same time! I do suffer with depression and I am being treated for this, I am feeling a lot better with the medication I am on. Does anyone else pick their eyebrows? I cover the scabs with make up, can be quite embarrassing especially as I am a health care proffessional and despite make up it can still be quite obvious! just wish I could stop doing it!

I'm 14 now. I have had a problem with acne on my back which, even when I don't pick them, they result in scabs and scars. Because of this I can't wear dresses (which I love wearing in the summer!) and sometimes there is acne on my chest and breast area. And there are still scars. And I don't even pick them! I need to know if there is any treatment to remove the scabs and scars? Thanx!

After reading what every one is saying i have to say i too found myself with a hole the size of an eraser head on a pencil.I didn't realize at the time that it was caused initially by a blow to the nose And i started getting bloody noses while sleeping and then later on they came all the time.I had the ent quaterize it.It left be with huge scabs which would eventually come out when my nose got real dry and scabby and then it would start all over again with a big scab. This brought me back to the ent and again and quarterized it again. So this was makinf the beginings of this hole because i always had scabs .Well today i figured out what i was doing wrong. What you need to do is get the hole to heal that means stop the scabbing and keep it clean. To do this is very simple.First use saline when ever you can throughout the day after you use that put a fingertip of triple antibiotic in the nose gently rub all areas.Do the same for the other side.Use this 3 times a day religiously. Now my nose is very dry so i also use regular bacitration when ever i feel it is dry.You will notice when you blow the scabs will come out continue flushing with saline.Once the hole has no scabs on it continue with both ointments all day and saline a couple of time just to keep any scabs from lingering. The whole deal hear is keep the hole open and free of mucus and it will not scab up and you will find you can breathe like you hadn't in a long time.I know i do.It has been three days now since i started this and i no longer have scabs or obstructions in my nose.I can live without stress no because i know how to take care of my self. You see surgeries are not the answers they sometimes become more of a problem since there are not to many surgeons who can do these surgeries successfully.Living with this hole in the septum is now just a matter of bacitration and tripleantibiotic ointment a couple of times a day my nose is healthier then it has ever felt.So don't fret if you follow this for three days you will be amazed.I hope this helps someone good luck....

im 15 and ive suffered from eczema since i was a baby and i have a small habit of picking and scratchin scabs but i have lots of dark scars all over my body...i hate showing my body it makes me sick...i get bullied and i always try and put cream on and not pick the scabs i try to avoid allergys please help...i hate my body is there anything good to remove my scars forever and thats cheap

Dear Anisah, You and I are in exactly in the same situation except that I am 32, have been scratching and pickings scabs all my life and therefore my skin is sure to have more scars than yours. The bad news is that the scars can never completely go away. I really regret scratching now. However, you can make the scars look less obvious. I've used Bio-oil before which you can get at any Boots branch and I find that it helps. But the most important thing for the future is preventing your eczema from flaring up again. Consult your GP and understand what causes it and moisturise your skin regularly to ensure that it itches a lot less. Hope this helps. Andrian

I am 37 years old and have been a habitual nose picker since childhood. About a year ago after a sinus infection I developed scabs inside of my nose that I would pick at. About a month ago I found a hole in my septum. I am too embarrassed to see a doctor about this as I will have to fess up to picking my nose compulsively. Is this dangerous? I am afraid that if I keep picking that my nose will collapse and yet I can't stop as the scabs are so uncomfortable. Any advice would be appreciated.

hey,try real hard, not to pick,i know it is difficult, but I found mine did begin to heal up, I to scared to use fingers cause of meningitis,i used pluckers. and I went to the doctors(2 good-looking ones)lol, talk about embarrassed, was I ever, but I laughed my way through that appoint.i am not a doc but I do not think your nose will collapse but it will surely get worse,as well try vasaline inside to take away the scratchiness of scabs soften it up in there, might help the feeling to supside. good-luck

You can use a solution to keep your nose clean and free from scabs.

hey, im not sure if i fall under this or not but for about 4 months i have been having scabs in my nose. it started in the left nostril dissappeared and now is only apparent in the left. sometimes its not too sore and other times its agony and bleeds and people can notice it. the scabs seem to get really bad but then go down and not so noticeable and just looks like a cut! but whats more worrying is that its starting to slightly leave a dent on the outer part of my nose! i dont want to go to the doctors over just a scabby nose but its starting to freak me out

sorry moved to just the right side

I've had eczema my whole life and while it never fully disappears I have learnt how to control it. I've noticed that it gets worse in the winter, a mixture of the cold outside which causes my skin to dry up and crack (especially on my face which is extremely annoying)and the heat from having the heating on in the house makes my skin itchier than normal causing me to scratch and break the skin. Drinking lots of water daily helps keep your skin from drying out and each morning and night I apply moisteriser, with my skin moisterised I'm less likely to break the skin if I itch. When I do break the skin however I'm left with horrible scabs all over my body which are sometimes painfull, this is when I apply a steriod cream I'm given from the doctor. I apply it morning and night on the scabs and within a week - 2 weeks, the scabs are gone. Like I said my eczema never goes away but what I mentioned before does minamise it and allows me to expose my arms and legs without feeling self conscious

Hi, im 20 and have had dandruff for several years now, it started shortly after getting bitten a number of times on my scalp and so i began itching and picking the scabs off which occasionaly started bleading which lead to more scabs and itching and has been a habit for around 4 years after, now iv have learned to restrain myself and take a shower when i wish to scratch but anti dandruff shampoos dont seem to work at all, i sometimes find it leave my scalp red and when it dries breaks out with even worse dandruff, sometimes it even seems better if i dont use it and really gets me down when people comment on it. If you could help even the slightest i would be more than greatful. thanks

To be honest a large number of the perforations we see are becasue people are injuring the spetum by habitulaly picking. Generally speaking putting ANYTHING up your nose is a bad idea and this includes your fingers, cotton buds, tissues and so on. All of these are harder than the nasal septal mucosa and will damage it. If your nose is full of goo or scabs although it is massively temtping to grab them with your fingers of tweezers it is much better to try and rinse them out with saline (the NeilMed sinus rinse kit is very good for this) Using vaseline, glycerol or a range of other emmolients is then helpful to soften and hard scabs and reduce their reccurence.

I have too just discovered a hole in my nose and I'm terrified, I know I have done it from constantly picking scabs from there and making it bleed for about 3 months, I wish i'd just gone the docs now and stopped picking at the scabs but I couldn't help it as they were irritating me and could feel them up there so when the blood dried I'd just pick again and this was at least 4 times a day! I'm very very worried and have got a sort of ache up my nose and into my head now, I went the doctors this morning and she was no help I went in as an emergency so had 2 see 1 of the rubbish 1s who didn't even look at the hole and seemed to dismiss everything I was saying, and now I have to wait 2 weeks to see one of the good ones and I'm going out of my mind!! Does anyone know how to keep it clean as the hole is getting blocked and causing more discomfort I was hoping the doc would of given me something, I've tried vaseline?? I'm so worried about it getting bigger or something happening to my nose, can anyone help!

i've tried garlic on mine and mine was just like the 'embarrassing bodies' photo. Every other day i put thin slices of garlic on my blobs/blemishes for 10 minutes or so, it stings but was certainly bearable. they scabbed over but the scabs have come off. I tried doing one side first as i wasn't sure what would happen but the scabs have come off and there is a huge improvement so i'm going to stick with it and do the others - try it, it's easy and cheaper and less painful than surgery. i tried garlic because i'd had them surgically removed by laser (i think!?) on the national health, not fantastically successful and they came back worse than ever after 9-10 months and can't have it done again for free so i tried garlic rather than fork out hundreds on something that didn't work anyway. before the surgery my cholesterol was checked and my dr told me my level was 'very good' so he put it down to bad luck. TRY GARLIC!

I had a yellow patch above both eyes..had them removed once via, well not sure..he used a small instrument and it smelled like flesh was burning..had some scabs for about a week but no scarring and they stayed away for about 10 years...well they came back and I just had them removed again yesterday with the same procedure...woke up this morning..yellow spots gone..have scabs...but happy with the results...a little swollen..have a follow up appointment in two weeks. This young doctor was terrific..didn't question anything...totally understood...took my insurance card...and did the procedure right there in his office in about 10 minutes..a little shot to numb me up and done!...he was terrific!! How can anyone walk around with these on your face. He totally understood! Love him!

I purchased a special offer of three sessions of veinwave. The therapist did all over my upper legs for the three sessions which included very faint veins (to get the three sessions all done). Unfortunately the treatment made my veins more promenant and my legs now look much worse. I am very upset and my partner and friends agree my legs (which were not that bad) now look worse. The treatment was quite painful and the probe was quite hot. The scabs stayed on my skin for over two weeks and the veins under the scabs looked worse and now four months after my treatment my legs are much worse. I would not recommend this treatment at all.

I am greatful I found this sight. I have a hole in my septum which started from continueous sinus infections over the last year which created sores which I then began picking almost to obsession to get the scabs and blood clots that formed out so I could breath and because they drove me crazy. I did not realize I could do this kind of damamge by picking at sinus scabs. I am nervous to go to my doctor now to ask for advice as I work in the medical field with the doctors and medical assistants that would be treating me. I know their first thought will be that I am a possible drug user which could affect my job if anybody breaks confidentiality. Is it possible that I did damage 30 years ago when I was using cocain on a regular basis for several years? I would not have been surprised if this had happened to me then but now it just seems like some freak thing I don't want to explain to anybody.

hi Lynnette, your story sounds just like mine, with cocaine use over 20 yrs ago,i went to the ENT an was so embarreset because both the doctors were young and really good-looking!lol,lol,all I could do was make jokes. I felt it was taking the attention off me,it wasn't,specially when the young doc went to remove the otton balls I had up there,to stop my nose fr running,he said"woow do you ever have them up there deep"i was never so embarrest.but in your sit.maybe you can go to a different place, where the doctors don't know you. but really the ones you do know, should act in a professional manner, and if you are wooried about your job, explain to them, there are all sorts of ways this could have started. not only drug use. and hold your head high!. idid when I left those good-looking docs, lol

so do i, i used to pick out handfuls of hair at a time and i went to a doctor yesterday and they prescribed me with antibiotics and liquid parrafin which is basically just vaseline. i applied the liquid parrafin once yesterday, washed it out with polytar shampoo, applied it again and slept with it in. i washed it out again with polytar this morning and then applied liquid parrafin again. its currently on my head now. after sleepin with it in ive already noticed that the scabs have become soft and stopped sticking to my head. when i wash it for the final time in a few hours there will be no more scabs. its a very quick and effective process and i recommend it as my scalp is nearly psorais free after 2 days :)

how do you get rid of the scabs in the scalp ?
