last October I had Deep FX and Active FX laser treatment on acne scars. I had a one off treatment at the cost of £1,500 and was told the laser treatment would clear up 95% of my acne scarring, which is not to severe. The scars were on both sides of my temples and a small area of scarring on my cheeks. Now 5 months later there is no improvement whatsoever on the scarring? Should the laser treatment be given a course, rather than a one off treatment? With thanks, for any help regarding this matter.

Hi, I used to get acne quite bad on my back but not so much anymore. The problem I now have it that I have a lot of scarring left behind due to the acne. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this scarring as it doesn't look nice and can be quite embarrassing when exposed.

I have a strange bumpy rash on both sides of my face which seems to be spreading to my cheeks. It seems to flare up the most whilst taking off my make up (using either face wipes or face wash) I have been using T-spot rapid spot remover on the effected area, it seems to flare up at first when applying but them reduces it and I have noticed a little difference, however it hasn't disappeared and I believe over the years this rash has left a bit of scarring. Could this be adult acne? How can I get rid of this and reduce scarring. I want to reduce scarring but worry if I use product that does reduce scarring, this will just make the spots/rash flare up even more? I do not feel confident enough to stop wearing foundation but do try to reduce how much I wear. I'm also trying my best to get a better taking off my make up in the evenings routine. Can anyone else advise what this could be or what I can do to get rid of this horrid rash?!

I am a 30 year old female and have been getting boils on my right groin ever since I was 13 years old. Antibiotics ahve never really done much to help this but I have been left with a lot of scarring which is very painful and slightly raised skin. Does anybody know if you can have anything done to help the painful scarring? I'm sure I saw an episode once where somebody had scar tissue removed. Thanks

Having seen an episode where a patient underwent laser skin resurfacing for acne scarring, I did some re-search on the internet and found many opinions from people complaining of worsening of their scarring following this procedure. Other than laser resurfacing, are there any other methods of scar reduction?

try bio-oil is really good it works as well no so may people who have avve used it for many differnt types of scars and all said how good and what a differnce it has made you can buy it on most shops

After epilating my legs, I started to get ingrowing hairs on the inner calves which then got infected and my GP diagnosed folluculitus. The prescribed cream cleared the infection, however I still have the ingrowing hairs and most embarrassingly a lot a scarring. I have been using Bio-Oil twice a day to try and heal the scarring but it's still very noticeable. Is there a more effective way to reduce the appearance of the scars?

Tubular breasts and keloid scarring... Any suggestions? I enquired about having breast augmentation a few years ago but as I suffer with hypertrophic scarring I was told that no surgeon would consider performing the procedure. I'm sure I heard that such things can be done laproscopically though now. I would just love to be proud of them, for the first time in my life, not have to scoop them into a bra every morning... I might want to wear a strapless dress, or go without a bra from time to time!! It would be nice.

go to the doctor he gave antibiotics and it has really helped and scars are fading

hi there the same problem i have as well i am also asian dark skin and i have spots all aroung my back and my neck and my upper arms and a little bit on my collar, i went to the gp and they gave tablets, cream etc. but none of them helped. also i have acne scarring in my face and i feel so embarrassed to show them so i cover them with make up which makes it worse. i love to do the laser treatment but it is to expensive because i am still a teenager so the sooner i get this treated the better can u help?

I felt your programme on acne scarring was very informative. However what treatments are available on the NHS for clients like me who can not afford private treatments? I myself have been a victim of acne scarring for 17 years and I am 27 now. I live in London and although I have other good qualities about my self that I am confident about I have given up on marriage simply because of my face, especially on my chin area where the scarring seems to be really bumpy and obvious in comparison to the rest of my face. I am not sure to why my chin scars this badly and find it extremely embarrassing! I am worried about it and more recently my mental state because the scarring really gets me down. Please can you recommend any NHS clinics, which I can ask my GP to refer me too. thanx

Hi there, I was put forward for the same type of surgery under both arms and the groin but was so frightened of the potential scarring that I cancelled. The only pictures I have seen are what I found on the internet and they seemed pretty horrific along with the skin graft scarring I just felt I needed to try alternative methods. I am however now thinking that surgery would be the best option but I do need further info on the potential scarring. Any ideas where I can find out more?

Anyone had babies when they've has HS? I have never had a pap smear or anything like that, as I'm to embarressed about my scarring. I'm overweight, so I can just see it now - the DR telling me how fat I am and being shocked at all my scarring on my thighs/pubic area. My question is - how do you deal with the embarresment/warn the Dr?

Honestly, Marilyn. Getting a good PAP result is so worth the embarrassment BUT most doctors are professionals and they want you to get better. They look at you clinically, like here's my specimen and what can I do with it now type of thing. I was so fearful of sharing any of my health issues but with the encouragement of a friend, I went to see a doctor after years of avoiding them and it is worth the sense of relief. You may not get the doctor that is right for you straight away but you have to go and see them and just discuss your fears about the PAP and your insecurity about your scars. Just make an appointment to go in and talk about it. I always go to a female doctor for PAPs. I lost my doctor after 15 years with her and her husband and I am looking for a new one and have tried out three that are good doctors but none that I have clicked with yet but in the meantime, I have someone I can see when I need to. The PAP only takes a few minutes honestly. Please let me know how your talk goes with the doc. Most docs have online reviews too that you can get a general sense of their bedside manner.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I was in the same boat. Just really embarrassed. But I eventually got to the point where I couldn't handle the pain. my griond and buttocks was bothering me. Very embarrassing. But I realized that even though it's personal the people who help you look past the areas and just want to help you get relief. I guess in the end the relief is worth the embarrassment. Good luck.

I have what appears to be keloid scarring on my nose & above my top lip. Initial scarring was brought about by trauma approx 30 years ago. It was more of a flat scar but then in the middle of a mid life crisis & wanting to feel more beautiful. I applied some generic scar gel to the scars. I thought that the least thing that would happen is that it wouldn't work. What it did do was much more horrific. Within 1-2 days of applying, a developed upraised rubbery scarring that is much bigger than the original wound. I wish I had done my research & left well enough alone. The grass was not greener on the other side.
