    Verrucas

Warts on the soles of the feet, which can sometimes be painful. They do not stick up from the surface of the skin, as the weight of the body pushing down on them makes them grow back into the skin. Read more →

The Skin on the sole of my right foot seems to peel off in strips. The skin seems to be paper thin in places. It leaves my foot raw looking and sore. It is not itchy and only effects the sole of my foot and not my toes. There is no smell. this has went on for a number of years, my g.p gave me a hydricortizone cream but it made no change. HELP

I have twenty verrucas on my foot in a cluster I have been given salicylic acid but on the recent removal of the scabs they have taken all the skin off my foot and it has cut deep and bleeds. It is now very sore to walk on. What shall I do?

Most forms of verruca treatment are 'destructive' and there will always be risks of overdoing it. Firstly, stop applying the salacylic acid. You could apply a small amount of antiseptic cream and cover with a simple gauze dressing. Try and keep the dressings dry for a few days and the skin is likely to recover. Once the skin clears up a bit you will be able to see if the verruca tissue appears to have gone, or not. If you have continued problems best to see a podiatrist or your doctor.

Hi ! At the end of January this year, somebody stood on my foot in a club with heels on. For a couple of weeks, my foot was painful and very bruised, however I could walk on it and move my toes so I didn't think I needed to get it checked out. Having previously breaking my ankle and leg, it was obvious to me that my foot was perfectly mobile, despite the bruising. Now ( 3 months after), I still have bruising down the side of my foot and pain if I apply pressure to it or wear tight fitting shoes. I also dance a lot and am experiencing pain in my foot after I have been dancing for a while. Is it worth( or too late )getting my foot checked now? And do you think anything even would be able to be done to it if there was a problem, due to how long it's been left? Thanks for reading!

i am a 32year old female. i have a severely itchy, ugly, sore patch on the sole of just my right foot. i originally had it as a young teenager, on both feet, all over each, from my ankle, down my heals and along the instep and outer side and sole of both feet, although i was taken all the time to my gp, it was never cured with any cream or talc they gave me. i just remember it disappeared on its own for some reason. however it returned about 2 years ago. it started on just my right foot, on the sole, just a little spot, but now it has spread and is a few inches in diameter along the base, but is slowly starting to spread up the side of my foot. i have been to the drs several times and was prescribed several kinds of creams and even a pill, the most affective being the steroid cream betnovate. although the most affective, 2 tubes later and it never disappeared. i had skin tests, but was never given the results. and after avoiding going back yet again to the drs cos feels like i'm wasting mine and their time, 6months'ish on, my foot is back to nearly its worst. i am constantly in either itchy hell or, after succumbing to the itch and scratching, in stinging, burning pain with red raw skin. i dont know what it is, whether it is atheletes foot or psoriasis or something else, the drs never seem to be sure. but its driving my crazy, waking me up itching and then after scratching it, a few hours later, not being able to put my foot comfortably on the floor as my skin has dried up and become so tight, that as soon as i flatten my foot, the skin splits. please help.

You stop growing at 21 unless you have a growth problem where you dont stop growing I am 6 foot 5 so youay be taller than that.

I was recently forced into wearing a boot for a film shoot which i was suspicious of wearing as it was badly damaged and smelt of damp and sweat. During that day my foot sweat and became sore. Some days later a verruca developed on the sole of my foot at the point where the boot's interior sole was badly broken up. Is it possible that there could be some link between these factors?

I have a question regarding foot blisters. I know someone who has a blister on the back of each foot. It started out as a normal blister but after 7 years the blister has become very hard and feels like bone. When the foot is upright its like a big lump sticking out of the back of the foot. Like I said its very hard, like bone. What advice is there available for such a problem? Is it something that will need operating on?

I suffer with sesamoiditis (left foot) and so have special insoles to help alleviate the pain. However, I still get a fair bit of pain from this condition which leads me to compensate with my right foot. Now my right foot suffers with 3 neurovascular corns, clustered together at the balls of the foot. I have regular treatment every 8 weeks from a NHS Podiatrist. However, the pain from these corns (feels like broken glass), returns after just 4 to 5 days. My work involves a lot of walking but the pain and constant limping is making life so difficult and depressing, I'm beginning to wonder how much longer I'll be able to go on like this? Is treatment really the answer or is there a cure out there somewhere?

The heel of my left foot was covered in verrucas, which became very sore, sometimes i even felt like my feet were on fire cause they hurt so much. Tried all the different treatments, like wartner, bazuka and even salactical solution from the doctor. Nothing, if anything they made my foot worse. After about 6 years i finally have a clear foot. I think the solution was a foot scraper. I got it from boots, scraped all the dead skin away and it eventually got to the core. Then used boots intensive foot moistoriser and socks, completely worked and i am so much happier. Its not easy but you have to persavere.

I also have neurovasular corns on the ball of each foot and one my right heel. Treatment I have is every 4 weeks. Yes, it has effected the way in which I walk and back pain has evolved from this, prior to receiving treatment. They are doing studies on elecro ops, but for now you are receiving the correct and only safe treatment available. I am not wanting to be a guinea pig for trialing new stuff, incase it leaves me worse off than I am already. I trust my podiatrist and he is constantly searching for a safe method of removing them permantly, he keeps me informed of any new procedures that may assist the healing of or removing the pain in which I live with.

Hello, I need help. I have had a foot complaint for around 7 years now and it started with intense itching around the little toe on my right foot (only affects one foot) of course the first thought is athletes foot but I do not get a build up of fungal. Over the years this has spread to all the other toes and all along the sole of my foot. My whole foot itches so bad I cannot describe it! And the skin is so dry. However it does not have the sponge effect as people have mentioned here. Also some of my nails have been effected having a yellowish colour and grow ridged and brittle. This is horrible for me and can never build up the courage to go to the doctors. I really want my foot back! Please help give me some idea of what this could be.

I am a 15 year old girl who has suffered from bunions most of my life. Around 15 months ago I consulted the NHS about my problem, which I later had an operation in which they sorted my feet out by removing the bunion and re-aligning my tose... However they only did one foot of the two. The foot that they opperated on has left two scars around 10cm and 4cm. After my surgery my foot was fine but I still have a lot of redness left on my foot where there is still a lump on the side of my right foot. On my left foot that I haven't had operated on I still have a bunion that wont seem to go down, it's at the same point as my left foot's was. Is there anything I can do to sort out my feet?

i started with one veruca on the bottom of my big toe and now i have... Let me see... 5 on my big toe, 1 on the ball of my foot just under my big toe, 1 on the ball of my foot just underneath my big toe and one in the crease between the ball of my foot and my second toe. They do not cause me any pain and because they are on the underside of my foot they are not noticable. They are just very annoying and i would like to get rid of them before they spread onto the heel or onto the other foot. I have tried bazuka gel but it didnt work and made my skin peel which didnt make my foot look very attractive, is there something that does not do that and will keep my feet looking nice so i can wear sandles as summer is not far away?

Firstly I really must know which foot it was my right foot not left :)whoops. I am sat here now two days after surgery on my Right foot, I am feeling fine with minimal pain and have got pain relief to take. I have a shoe to protect the bandaged foot and crutches to help me get around. I am under no illusion my foot is going to take a long time to heal but I can get around. Hope everyone is doing great those who had there op or are looking into having a bunion to be done.

I have 3 verrucas on my feet,2 on my right foot and 1 on my left foot.I started off realising I had a big verruca on my right foot,I checked the other foot and found another one (it was smaller) and a few weeks later I spotted one on the side of my big toe on my right foot. I think it might have spread from one of my verrucas. My big verruca is painful when I touch it or walk on it for too long,I'm going to try duct tape and hopefully it works!
