NO, if you masturbate once or twice a DAY even it won't make a different thats an urban myth. but if it feels sore or uncomfortable just stop and dont masturbate until it feel comfortable again. It only makes a problem if you have an erection for HOURs which is pretty impossible, unless u masturbate A LOT. if you have an erection for HOURs the blood vessels that are keeping in the blood which make the erection get damaged meaning that they cant hold as much blood and cant hold it for as long as they used to be able to. DO NOT WORRY, its only if its for HOURS!!!. just stop masturbating if it hurts and dont do it for a day or two. Most of the playground or internet myths are BS!

I'm 17 and when my penis is erect it has an unusual amount of curvature. It's sometimes painful to masturbate and I find it difficult to have sex. Is there any way I can correct it's stiffness without the use of surgery?

Ray go and have this condition diagnosed first. Maybe something else.. Dont automatically think surgery..

Gidday Ray. For some guys, a curved one is normal it's when they look like a corkscrew that things get serious. You say it's painful to masturbate which suggests given you're only 17 would be well worth seeing a specialist sooner rather than later while your body is still growing in case action needs to be taken to give your body a chance at correct the angle if that is an option. The fact it is painful suggests it is well worth getting it checked and I'd encourage you to ask your doctor about the possibility of you having "Peyronie’s Disease" which has the classic painfully curved penis as a symptom. Don't be alarmed that the word "disease" is in that term, it's just the medical wording for a condition that you may or may not have, but better you be sure so that treatment can take be arranged. As a footnote, it's unproven scientifically but it has been claimed in some circles that taking Vitamin E can help with curvature but I stress this is purely anecdotal and not proven so may be pure fairy tales. What I would be doing is looking around for a doctor who knows about Peyronie’s Disease usually a Urologist is best and paying them a visit. If nothing else, it'll put your mind at rest and may help find a solution to the pain.

I'm 43 and recently had knee pain for no reason it appeared, swelling and stiffness which I've had now for over 7 weeks. Had X-ray as could not walk at all - in fact bed bound as pain was terrible and was bent with bruises at the back of the knee. The doctor said osteoarthritis but I'm not convinced as surely that would ease with medication . Please advise what can I do next ? I've had tramodol , diclophenic etc.

Hi I was diagnosed with AS about 2 years ago and have found things very difficult to deal with and I had the same question as you, so I asked my GP. The answer he gave me is that if you are taking an anti-TNF then your wife will be unable to conceive, I was also taking Methotrexate and that also will will prevent your wife to conceive, it will actually cause a miscarriage. If you are taking any of these types of medication the you should read the leaflets carefully and fully. I hope I have been of some help.

Hi, I have AS also. It should not affect your sex life, provided that having sex is not too painful. Exercise as much as you can - rotations, stretches, light physical - as these will all help you feel more flexible. Determine what time of day you have least pain, and try for that time. Find a position that works for you and her eg if your back and hips are stiff, missionary may be tricky so put a pillow under her bum to raise her, try from side of bed standing, etc. As far as passing AS to your child, there is a small chance as it is genetically related but not guaranteed - do a google search for more. No connection to likelihood of pregnancy from AS alone. Stay positive, my AS improved with age, and weekly Physio for stretching along with hydrotherapy really worked - stopped taking NSAIDS as a result. If you are too stiff to exercise, speak to your GP about medication choices, including the likes of Embryl, as these are enablers to doing exercise which is the main preventative to your condition deteriorating. good luck!

Hi I am 20 years old and I found a lump behind my left ear it is firm and does not hurt. My doctor gave me a course of antibiotics which did not clear the lump. I then underwent a skull x-ray which came back normal and the doctor told me not to worry about it. However I am worried because the lump is there over a month now and I don't know what is causing it. I am also experiencing stiffness on the left side of my neck and the bone feels harder on the left side of my ear compare to the right side. Thanks

im currently unwell, ive had previous drastic surgery on my abdomen&bowel&have many health problems.During the last 10 days i have lost a stone in weight too.It started when i had some pain in my hip&stomache, fever which went with paracetamol&seemed to last for only a day.The pain intensified with lots of gas, which then "settled" into a very tender abdomen which was very much like the feeling of just having had surgery eg tender tummy, difficulty in coughing, laughing&walking properly upright&a stiffness in walking/moving.As the days progressed(3rd day)i developed diarrhea which i still have,This is day 6 now but i feel im getting abit better generally.Im scared its cancer but know i wont even get a drs appointment for at least 3wks!Should i go to hospital or just wait until i can see a dr?I dont think ive im properly hydrated either.Thank you in anticipation of any help.

I'm 42 yrs old & since i was 17 I've suffered periodically from psychosis and have been prescribed chlorpromazine, olanzapine, quetiapine, and am currently taking risperidone. my symptoms are hallucinations in my peripheral vision, paranoia, audio hallucinations, constant anxiety, fear & suspiscion. my moods are erratic and extreme. And at times I'm so manic that I'm climbing the walls & too hectic for people to deal with. my problem is i can't seem to find the right anti psychotic meds that work without causing Parkinsonism, muscle/joint stiffness & pain and my limb coordination is getting pretty poor now. i can be completely sober and will stagger like I'm drunk. I've spoken to gp's & psychiatric doctors & get nowhere. it feels like I'm being fobbed off, ignored & made to feel that my side effects are just imaginary. please can there be any alternative treatments that work without making me feel worse. thank you all. peace...

HI , ive had a similar problem with the same diagnosis , medication after medication appointment after appointment and all dead ends. no difference in my mental health and no explanation from any health professional , scary to think gp's and doctors don't have the slightest concern , any advice would be really great.

You might be best going to see a chiro practor, they will do xrays and give you treatment to help with the stiffness. Theve done more for me than my doctor ever has. My mum also has the condition and they told her that If she didnt go when she did in a few years she would have had trouble to walk. The stretch ur spine and releive some of the stiffness and give you excercises to do at home. Hope you found my info helpful

I'm 22 and I find it easy to get an erection but just lately I loose all stiffness halfway through intercourse this has never happened before can someone help?

i find this really strange as i have mild psorisis ive had it about4 years but in the last two years i have had awful pain in hips and shoulders been to docs but passed off as wear and tear i am only 23 lol!!

Yes all the comments on the pages are typical psoriasis problems on the body. Mine started in my 20's just on the scalp a few patches on the usual places, elbows, knees. Now at 52 coming up still a small amount on the scalp not to much bother I use the T-Gel shampoo you can get it from most supermarkets and small amounts of Dovobet Ointment on prescription when I know the small area's are getting bad. More small patches on the Biceps area elbows but as of late more around the bottom area and knees which aint nice, tried Epaderm Ointment which is on prescription very little effect. As for your problem they say 1 out of 10 sufferers with psoriasis get Psoriatic Arthritis which affects the joints. Mine was in my right shoulder and gave me JIP as they say, after going to the Doctors and the wait to see a specialist, who was great for over the months of going to see her things got pretty good. Now I take 1 Diclofenac Sodium 3 times a day and down to 1 a day of Salazopyrin, which I used to take 3 a day. But taking these you must get your blood checked monthly when first taking these, they carry out a few tests out the main one is for the Liver, also I started months ago to take Cod Liver Oil 1000mg capsules. Now I weight train hard 5 days a week which I did well I was mad on body building in my 20's and still at my age well I look good and the brain still works as if I'm in my 20's. Mountain biking and when I have time Insanity work outs. Hope this has maybe put you on the road of seeking help from your Doctor, there are lots of other medicines out there that will help your problem its just finding the right one that helps. Mind with so many people who suffer with Psoriasis you would have thought there would be a cure in this day and age. As we all do we will try anything in shops and magazines which claim to get rid of it or to a minimal level. BUT WE ALL WAIT FOR THAT LONG LASTING CURE

Slow exercise every early in the morning

I am 49 and have osteoarthritis in my knee which is controlled with anti-inflamatories. However for the past few weeks I have had similar stiffness in the foot of the same leg. When I wake up in the morning or after periods of inactivity I can hardly walk. Can you get arthritis on the top of your feet or is it something else? The pain does not feel as if it is from a joint.

I am 16 years old and have suffered from psoriasis since I was about 10. It started off as small patches on my elbow, but now it covers my scalp! I also suffer from sever joint pain and stiffness, mainly in my knees but sometimes in my hip as well...doctors think that it could be psoriatic arthritis but are hesitant to diagnose it at such a young age... Does anyone else in their teens suffer from this?

I've not been diagnosed, but this forum has helped me see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel? I can't keep my neck and head still, and I suffer severe pain and stiffness in these areas. It is worst at night when I can hear my head moving incontrollably by the rustle of the pillowcase - and when I go to the dentist. They keep telling me to keep my head still, and the more I concentrate on doing this, the worse it gets. Sleep is never good. I can hear/feel the bones in my neck constantly clicking - and I do have hand tremor which is embarrassing. My GP thought that this might me a side-effect of my antidepressant, venlafaxine - which I need to take for life. Indeed, the tremor seemed to mimic the dose of the drug. I've also been diagnosed with sacro-iliac joint disorder - which cripples my bum and hips when it is bad. I've tried everything - so many orthopaedic pillows etc and nothing helps. I take Nytol very often to try to help me sleep. When I am up and walking round during the day, I almost feel like I can cope. It is when I have to be still that it really creates problems. I haven't been back to the GP about it because to be honest I was frigtened that I might be developing early-onset Parkinsons (I'm 52) - but your forum has definitely opened my eyes and I will go back to him. I hate for him to think that I have yet another problem (in addition to depression, high blood pressure, chronic back pain) - but hey - I can't help it!. Thanks for all your honesty - please let me know if you think this is what I have - and how can I get a diagnosis. My osteopath gives acupunture which sometimes helps - but it is only temporary - the shoulder and neck stiffness get excruciating and I can only find a tiny bit of relief through co-codamol

hi i have suffered with occasional bouts of severe mouth ulcers and eye infections (always at the same time) for the last year and a half. I am under a rhuematologist and have regular tests which indicate nothing except that my ESR is slightly raised and have experienced some joint stiffness before although that is hardly noticeable now probably because i've lost weight from not being able to eat due to ulcers!? Not sure if its Behcets or not really. Even if this was diagnosed i'd be VERY reluctant to take steroids or immunosuppressants anyway but it would be nice to have a name for whatever it is i suppose.

Hi I also have low vit D bu suffer from fibromyalgia I'm in agony everyday what you have sounds like that, ask you doctor?

Over recent months I've noticed I've developed visibly swollen Ankles and sometimes even the feet have felt swollen too it can be uncomfortable and painful and my doctor told me it could be due to hot weather and standing up a lot but didn't examine my feet but did say if it got any worse to go back. Personally I'm concerned it is more serious as this is not what I'd consider mild swelling, diabetes is in the family and I have PCOS. I also feel stiffness in my lower legs along with the swollen ankles and would appreciate some advice.

Hi, I am 27 years old with a mild form of CP and that effects my left side. I am not very educated about my condition. When I was younger I had problems with muscle stiffness and movement. When I explained my condition to my friends by saying one side moves faster than the other. But it wasn't noticed unless I was performing vigorous activities such as running. But now at 27 I'm experiencing muscle cramps and slight numbness. My walking may get off balance and I fall. I know they say progression is not common with age but I think that is what's happening to me. If so any suggestions on what to do from here?
