I have been suffering with acid reflux for a while. Not so much the burning in the throat but more the pain in the Pitt of my stomach under my breast bone. It is a constant dull ache that's always there, get extremely bloated when eating so try to avoid eating as much as I can which isn't healthy? I've been on omeprozole and lanzoprezole but they seem to make the pain worse and cause acid in throat. Does anyone have same problem? An what has helped it ? It's driving me mad I use to enjoy exercising etc but the pain just won't allow me anymore. Thank you

Have you had your gallbladder checked? If you have stones or an inflamed gallbladder, it can cause those symptoms, it did for me. Ask to get an ultrasound, if anything, it will at least rule it out. Good luck!
I heard it mentioned that a Heidelberg Stomach Acid Test was carried out on a show. Is there anywhere in the UK I can have this done?
Hi Im 23. 2 months ago I had intermittent Diarrhea and pain all over my abdomen. The diarrhea stopped, but since then the pain in my abdomen when I eat is unbearable at times, and I move my bowels between 2 and 5 times per day. I am extremely exhausted all the time, and my abdomen gets very distended and painful. Before this, I had gastritis and acid reflux in my stomach, and take acid inhibitors every day. My GP tried anti biotics at first, which didnt make a difference. He referred me then for a colonoscopy, but the waiting list is 8 months and I can barely function or go to work because of the pain, exhaustion, and frequesnt trips to the toilet. It doesnt seem to matter what I eat, whether its vegetable soup or a burger, the pain an need to go to the toilet seems the same. someone please help me!
this sounds very much like ibs to me?

hi im also on tranexamic acid and am constantly bleeding for the last four months. my quality of life is non-existant and am confined basically to being at home near the toilet. i am 46 and have been offered the hormonal coil or electric burning of the uterus lining which i have to make my mind up on but my gp doesnt seem that interested and i am now feeling very distraught.

I suffer from terrible indigestion, i am on a high dosage of Omeprozol for this, which i sometimes have to double up. If i havent eaten anything i can feel the acid in my stomach bubling away and it is rather uncomfortable. I have stages where I vomit after the majority of my meals, if i have had a drink 10 minutes either side of eating, most of what i have eaten will come up. This leaves me constantly hungry, and making the acid worse. I often lose weight when this happens (usually 2-5lbs in a few days) but I do tend to put it back on when eating normaly again. I am NOT forcing myself to be sick. It can come over at any point, especially if bending over. I have had lots of blood tests, an MRI scan, Barium meal, Ultrasound, gastropocy and more blood tests. Nothing has shown up so the hospital have discharged me. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
I have exactly the same symptoms as you. I have been through all the same tests several times and take the same medication. Unlike you,in the last 25 years,I have had two Nissen Fundoplications to tighten the sphincter and repair the hiatus hernia. However, the sphincter muscle has stretched once again and (probably due to my age) my GP says I must resign myself to the misery of acid reflux for the rest of my days. I humbly suggest that your hospital may be putting their costs before your wellbeing and that you continue to complain until they agree to tighten your sphincter as well.
i need some advise please regarding upset stomach , Am 24 , i get nausea every mornings mainly when i wake up early , and i always wake up with a white/yellow tongue and very dry month, i have no appetite what so ever and feel like vomiting , i sometimes have to force my self to eat , i have been suffering from this for more than two years , i have been to my doctor i had several blood tests all came back clear , but i am still suffering everyday and all the doctor has said is to stay away from dairy products and fruit juices and fizzy drinks, i use to drink lots of orange juice 2L or more a day and stopped smoking , i dont drink alcohol, my doctor thought i have acidity problem in my stomach , but he only gave me some random tablets to reduce stomach acid, but i noticed the tablets he gave me made my stomach worse !! when i went back to him , he just told me to stay away from dairy and fruits , not medicine , its now getting very frustrating, i am quiet a thin person i struggle to gain weight and by having this diet every day( no dairy ie milk, cheese, choclate , and fruits etc ) it is not helping me !! please help me
2 litres of OJ daily is way too much! I'm surprised you didn't turn orange! One glass a day (200-250mls) is OK as part of your five a day. Try drinking plain water instead. Chicken and fish are easier to digest than red meats, and rice and carrots are less likely to cause trouble to sensitive digestions. Bananas are also good. Try to eat small meals, and drink liquids between meals rather than with them. Avoid frequent/strong coffee too. Yoghurt is easier to digest than milk or cheese or chocolate and contains beneficial bacteria. Talking of bacteria, get the doctor to test you for the presence of the bacteria h. pylori in you stomach - a now well-known problem which can be fairly easily treated. Lastly, don't worry too much about gaining weight: everyone's build is different and many people stay quite slim until their mid-thirties. Better to aim for a varied and healthy diet & lifestyle!
