Hi, I'm 16 and for the past 6 days my stomach has been feeling bloated and just bad, it's not a big pain but the pain is still there. I eat and my stomach hurts , I'm always hungry, I did go to the bathroom just today and I thought that would end my pain but no there's still like a burning sensation in the pit of my stomach, I burp a lot, even if I don't have food in my stomach. I think this started because I barely eat at school and when I get home I only eat 1 meal and sleep and wake up at night and eat again. I'm not sure what to do? I have some pills that the doctor gave me just 4 months ago because of the same problem and he said I had stool that needed to get out, yea the pills helped but I'm not sure if I should take them or just get some metamucil? Please help, I hate having this pain ! I can't do anything without having that dull pain in my stomach

I know how u feel :( I have a weird stomach pain and only goes away when I lie down ... Btw I'm 16 too...! I have consipation that started 3 years ago (unknown reason) ... I take dulcolax once or twice a week to help me feel better...! I hope you'll find a way to feel better soon!

I have been getting a pain in my stomach for the last year. It only ever happens when my stomach is empty and starts off as a hunger pang which turns into a pain. The pain is high up just under my chest in the centre. It usually does get better once I eat.

I am 18 have had the same problem for over a year, you're not alone. Have been given mebeverine and all sorts of anti spadmodics but nothing worked for me. I also get constipation quite badly and nausea is a strong symptom for me along with feeling faint. People here should try a gluten free diet as coaliac can cause very similar problems Good Luck everyone i know one day we will all find things that can help ease our symptoms Keep strong and keep going to the doctors to discuss the symptoms and the food diary is an excellend way to pinpoint foods or drinks that may cause problems.

I have the same exact symptoms and it always gets better when I eat.

When I go to the toilet to poop, I find when I push i get a really sharp pain in the bottom of my stomach. It feels like period pains but I've had it for about 5 days now, I have to put a hot water bottle on my stomach afterwards to stop the pain, it always hurts when I walk and stops me from being able to walk around anywhere so I have to stay laying down until the pain is gone, but then I'm fine afterwards. Does anybody know why?

Hi there. I was diagnosed with pcos 6 yrs ago aged 16. I have every symptom. I have always have pain during sex and just pain in my stomach. I haven't had a period in 2 yrs and before that 1 for 5 days then 2 years before that. I am constantly getting sharp stabbing pains in my lower abdomen and it makes me double over. I have collapsed twice when the pain has been so severe. But it only lasted around 5 minutes both times, so I didn't go to the hospital. I get a dull ache also which is heavy - when pressing my lower stomach it feels like I can actually feel large lumps inside. It hurts to press on my lower stomach. I also get a sharp stabbing pain up my bum - like a red hot poker! It completely disables me. It can happen at any time with no warning. If I tense after the first stab it then continues. It doesn't matter what I'm doing it will just suddenly happen. I was woken by the pain last night which has never happened before. I have been to the doctors about the stabbing pains in my stomach and told its just period pain. And also the dull ache I have and told the same. Can anyone advise me on anything here please. Thanks :)

I'm 20...and the only reason I was diagnosed is because its attacking around my appendix so I went with suspected appendicitus... had an ultrasound seen inflammation around my appendix so they done a laparoscopy and found endo...but done no treatment...all docs and nurses I've spoke to I'm the past year since I had this diagnosed said that whilst they were corryout out the laparoscopy they should of lasered It off and removed my appendix anyway but all docs are useless with this condition and will try and fob you off with constipation or a urine infection or something....you need to be very demanding and consistent tell them what you want...tell them you want an ultrasound if that doesn't work tell them you want ct scan and if that doesn't work tell them you want a laparoscopy and stick to ya guns...during my research sometime the only way they can diagnose it is by a laparoscopy..hope you get it sorted...good luck

When i have this pain i also wee blood and it is uncomfortable to urinate. my doctors have said it is cystitus but it appears to be realated to my lower stomach pain. when i have the pain i can not walk. i have a healthy diet, a healthy lifestyle excluding this issue. i am 17 years old and this pain is affecting my lifestyle and education. because i get the pain so much i have alot of days off school and in the hospital. i would really like it if you could get back to me because im fed up of having this pain.

Im 16 and i read this and i have Ibs. But im also having pain around my ribs, too. Its the most horrible thing to live with ive had it for 2 years but when you say its ruining your like i know exactly what you mean ... I think doctors need to realise just how serious this disease is and how badly it can affect people.

Hello, my situation is so similar to yours and I really feel for you.. It's awful because we cannot live our lives normally. I wanted to ask what is the omeprozole and buscopan? My doctor in Spain has prescribed eldicet which I think is a mild form of Imodium but for me it doesn't work unless I take a form of Imodium as well. Does the buscopan help to calm you down? Does it work? Do you think yours is stress related cause mine is apparently. There must be something out there to help us function properly. I find that I get anxious when I'm in queues, usually with a shopping trolley full of food or waiting to check in at airports. It's a nightmare so I am basically living on Imodium which can't be good for my body. Lets hope we can get some good advice on here but you're not alone x

For the last 6 months or more I have been getting a strange pain on the right side (feels like my tubes) it can be very painful like a sharp pain that lasts for about a day this happens usually after about 2weeks after my period, I went to gp some months ago and she said it may be that I'm ovaluating.. I shrugged it off as u would and now its happening on a regualar. Yesterday had the pain and the usual pain that goes around in my stomach like a pain moving through me can't explain it goes on for about a day also and makes me stomach feel bruised the next day and painful if I try to have sex. I think I may have endo..

It's such a relief to know that other people feel bloated to such an extent that you look pregnant! I'm 18, when I try and tell my family or bf how horrible I feel about myself, or how ill I feel all the time, they just say I'm crazy and it's all in my head. I'm quite slim (7 stone), which just makes my stomach look even more pregnant (it's like one of those starving children in poor countries who are thin with a round, distended stomach) I've never shown anyone my stomach without sucking in cos I look pregnant, I'd NEVER wear a bikini, and try to stay in jumpers. I feel so ill sometimes, I have to be slightly bent over and clutching my stomach, even when walking. I don't eat junk food, I can just have some fruit and it will make my stomach protrude massively. Even when I lie on my back and press my stomach it feels huge and hard. I've never taken anything for it, just suffered silently cos I dont want the doctors to see my gross stomach. Also suffer from constipation and back pains, but I think the back pain is unrelated. I wish I could just have a normal stomach without pain and..... poop normally! :(

this has only happened to me 3 times before but the most recent time, I was due my period and i took a severe pain in my stomach & got into the shower but had to sit on the floor and crawl out of the shower the pain was that bad, while I was sitting there I started dry heaving with the pain, before i started to stand up then i collapsed and blacked out until someone found me. for an hour after that, the pain was in my stomach and my uterus, it kept getting to a 9 on the pain scale and then dulling to about a 4. the pain fluctuated for about an hour until it went away completely and then i was fine again. Any idea why this has happened? it has only started the past year.

I started my period when I was 16 and ever since then they have been extremley heavy and I have had serious pain I just thought it ran in my family as my mother was the same. About 5 years ago I started to get pain while having sex it gets to the point where it puts me off which is putting a strain on my relationship. The pain started to get worse and then I started to get cramps in my stomach almost everyday especially ony right side of my stomach, I couldent work out why I was on such pain on an everyday basis so I visited the doctor. The doctor decided to do lots of ivestigations and eventually I had a laparoscopy which showed I had endo but it was only a min amount they laser surgery to take of what was there. This was 2 years ago and my pain has got worse my stomach and I have also started to get lower back pain everyday. I Did go back to the doctor and they said the next thing to try is an implant called Zoladex, I had this once Month for 6 months and had no joy.I have run out of options on what to do next my doctor says they can't do anything else as he. Dosent think it's a gynaecology problem I honestly don't know what to next I am in so much pain and so frustrated.

hi, i'm 26 going on 27 now andsince i fisrt had got my period i've always been sick when ever i get it. throwing up, head ache, tummy ache, the shivers, numbness and reslessness no to meantion the need to be in the loo with runs. but it was the pain that was excrushiating. often enough i wouldnt go to schoon on my fisrt day i got it as it was always on the firt day fisrt couple of hours. if i got to sleep through the pain in a few housrs i would wake up better. i suffered like this for 10 years. doctors just said u'll be fine when u get married or just need to eat more etc. but i was very hearlthy! i came here to uk and the doctors just litereally pushed the pills on me. i didnt have a bf so i had no need for it. but then when i would fall i'll like the way i meantioned- though it was humilating and normal for me my housemates paniked, called the ambulace on 3 occations and each time all tests showed fine yet my body was going into shock and i was shivvering. finally the girls suggested taking the pill as it helps with the period pain etc so i was told, so i did. but it didnt stop. infact at one point i had a continuous chocolate like dischage/period continuourly for a month- no help from the doctor. she just said it happens?infact there was no point to it so after a year of taking it i stopped taking it only then to not get my period for a good year! and doctors here wont do anything about it as i have to wait for a year as they think it might be an effect of taking the pill. my family has a history of cysty breast and breat cancer and i have 2 on my breast. this was smthing i told my doc before going on the pill(as the leaflet says) but they said it was fine. anyways i wasnt happy at all about my condition and insisted i see a specialist as soon as the year was up (in england they dont refer you to a specialit breast surgen/department unless your like 26! insaine. so finally i got them to do a scan to prove i have one- a lump at least(i had done this ultrasound scan when i went on holiday to my home country but my doc count refer me to a specialist cos of my age at that time-21) anyways as u can see i insisted they refer me to a specilst and when they did, the gynocogist insited that i was under weight accourding to his charts and that that was the reason why i didnt get my period! i was a booliming size 10 not even an 8 or 6. and i'm only 5.4. after much persuation and insting i get a scan he sent me for a uscan. lovely nhs didnt notify me untill i rung them and asked when it is and they said it was infact that day in the next half hour. thankfully i hadnt eaten, and rushed over with my partner drinking as much water as i can. but it wasnt enough for the scann and the lovely radiologist told me i can either come back another day or she can do a laparoscopy. i told her waht was wrong withme and she suggested the lap. was the best as u can see things better. so i emptyied up and she did the scan. the scan showed i had polycistic ovaries and endeo on both tubes and womb.. overall bad for me. my sepcialist gyno man took none of this into account and all he cared about was trying to push some pills similar to the brith control pill to so i would have a period like bleed hoping that after i stop taking them after 6 months that my body should make me have a natural period!. call me blust but this idiot just hasnt even bothered to look at my file. i questioned him over and over about the results and if this was right that i should even take more pills like this that specify not to take if u have a history of cysts and here he was pushing it to me. i tood the prescription and even bought it, then calld the information number for that pill and asked them if with my condition i should take it and they even suggested no as with me having poly.ovaries the cysts can grow and the hormones can make endoe worse! and to think this specialist gyno insisted i take this. he even wrote this in a letter as i went back to my gp and siad no real treatment was given. speaking with my gp we decided not to take the pills the gyno had asked me. ofcourse this meant that i had no period yet, but decovered that i had endeo and polyc ovaries. I then did alot of reserch and consulted in my family. for my luck a distant relative who had a similar problem but in her case one ovary+tube had been cut off 3months earlier and she was put on the pill so she didnt get her period to heal. but this caused a huge cyst on the other side and endo all over they had told her take it all out- but cos she was married and hadn't even had the chace of having kids she decided to go see alternative therapy and went to a homeopathic doctor- one that i had gone to when i was young due the nose bleeds i would get when out in the sun too long-sinus problems. but i was cured of all that. anyways she had gone to this doc who gave her treatment for 6 months and and it was all cleared and the big cycst she had had (size of a tenis ball) shrunk for a small pea,in 6 months. this was my sisteres cousin inlaw. she insited i should do the same- and my sister pleaded i take homeopathy. so i made a visit back home, and saw the doc. she told me the pill i smthing i must naver take, chocolate occationally as it makes it grow and cofee is an absolute no as it makes them grow rapidly. fizzy drink and juice that have preservative and flavoring i can not have unless it's freshly squeesed. she gave me treatment for 6 months as well that included for my cycts on my breast. and well though i'm not the best person in sticking to my no coffe or chocolate, i did occationally have them. butafter a month of taking them i had a prober period, yest is was painful but atleast i got it after not having it for a year! and the months after the period pain was just a pain and smtimes i didnt even know! as i did turn 26 and could go an see the breat specilst i did get to and the cyst i had on my breas- compared to the scan i had done when i was 21, was smaller. of course it's down to the fact that i avent been taking my meds properly but it surely has worked. well if i'm having no period pains like b4 etc. i'm sure smthings working. there is no harm in taking homepathy as it's all herbal. i would suggest it to tall to go and see a homeopatic doc.and dont take your doctors word for it always. what ever they give u always double check it and question it with your gp if your not sure. i think my endeo + cysts growing have all to do with taking the pill based on my family history. oneday we all want to be a mother and be able to have a family so i would only urge you all see all treatments that are safe and would help you and your family.

After being on augmentin in hospital last year i started with terrible stomach rumblings. I then had a change in bowel movements. In the early hours of every morning i wake up with the sound of my stomach. Follwed by an urgent need to poop. I have heartburn, stomach pain, pain in my shoulder blades and randomly all over my body. I have had a colonoscopy, ultrasound, endoscopy, ct scan and many blood tests. They do not know what is wrong with me. These symptoms are around everyday and what bothers me the most is the horrific sounds that I have to listen to. This has ruined my life, it occupies my every thought and I'm still convinced the doctors have missed something. I feel hopeless! There just doesn't seem to be an end in sight. My family think its physiological, little do they know or understand! The pain is relentless!

I have been dealing with ibs for about a year. I usually get flare ups every few weeks or so, or as soon as I have spicy or greasy food especially Chinese! However for the past month I have been dealing with constant pain, not one that comes and goes on different days. It is either very crampy on the mornings and nights where I have to rush to the toilet and during the day there is a constant dull ache that never goes??? Is this normal! Also, Usually my bloating comes and goes but the past month it has never seem to gone down!!!! It looks like I'm pregnant or something it's so worrying, does anyone else deal with bloating that just won't go? I have been getting major back spasms that are quite worrying and chest pains? Any one else?

Hi I am 27yr old female. I have been having pains from stomach since having my child 8yrs ago, I had a c-section for heart condition reason. But ever since I cannot have intercourse with my partner its to painful and when I do I end up in pain from stomach and vagina are throbbing with pain, I cannot move its like I'm paralized in pain. I have had 4 operations and physio and now on waiting list for more physio. My feelings on this situation don't seem to matter to my docs. I do think this problem is because of the c-section.. It would really be helpful if you could help in anyway
