i need some advice, my discharge, is has a tinge of green first thing in the am, but i also have two spots/like bites. I know its not caused by an STD. i am in my mid 30s, and my gp is well aware that i wouldn't cope with a physical examination. My last two periods have only lasted two days, i have been suffering badly with stress, but i am not usually this light due to stress

Hi, I have had a number of events in my life that have caused me stress, one currently on going. I can get upset very quickly and do stress alot. Sometimes even the little silly things stress me out when really there is away around it. I think one problem is that my mind is constantly actively, a new thought every few secs. Due to this I an suffering really back neck, shoulder and back pain. I am having acupuncture treatment and have been told there is too much tension that between my shoulder blades it's solid. I am on maternity so cant really afford to go often, hence by the time i go back the shoulders/neck/back are back to as they were. Is there anything you can recommend that might help? I have tried meditation but i cant get my mind to stop thinking! Thanks

I know it sounds ridiculous, but try and find a 'spiritual healer'. My mums friend is one, she works on my back and coxics whenever she has the time, and it helps sooo much, in a sense its the same as acupuncture, but it may work better for you, generally £30 an hour, i get muscles in my arms, back and legs going solid from that much tension and after an hour with her i feel light and free, if you do try it, expect to cry with releif!! good luck.

Wow I had completely forgotten i had posted here. Just had an email to say I got a reply! Thanks Katie Well 4 years on and i wouldnt say its changed much in terms of the tension in my back, neck and shoulders! I still go for acupuncture but also was referred from GP to physio - they couldnt help - wasted my time tbh! I also go for counselling which is helping but a long process / journey! I have also tried a healer but again it didnt help. I do still occassionally see them. I have suffered with two miscarriages and a death in my family over the last 12 months, dealing with reoccuring anal fissure and the other usual stresses of life! On the upside I managed to leave my last job where management were treating me like poo. I am in a better working environment now but at times the job can be stressful. Noting in comparison to previous job. I try to make small changes where possible but i dont think its enough. There isn't enough help out there for people who suffer with this. We are just told to eat health, do yoga meditation and excersise. Basically dont stress . . . if only it was that easy I won't be suprised if I die from the amount of stress i feel but hey ho got to plod along as you're pretty much stuck with it if you have it bad!

I am going through a period of stress and recently have experienced these night terrors. Luckily for my girlfriend I dont lash out but have felt myself fit in my dream and be dragged to the other side of the bed. I feel that the more they happen the more I can actually control them. Is there a direct link between stress and these terrors? Thanks.

Hi, I'm 16 years old and have had my periods since I was 11. The past few months they've seemed to go really weird as I missed 3 periods in a row. I always hear 'maybe it's stress' but I doubt it because if anything stress has always brought it on for me, and has never affected my cycle. I have started to exercise but not excessively when after I missed the first one I stopped and they are still not back. I'm definitely not pregnant. What are your thoughts?

I suffered a really bad urine infection at the age of 3 and have suffered urinary incontinence ever since and I am now 34!! I am constantly at the doctors and hospital regarding my problem but feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall. I get referred from one person to the next. I now suffer both stress and urge incontinence and it has severely affected my life (I don't have a life now as I'm too scared to even go to the shops in fear of an accident) but it's not only my life it has ruined it's my daughters life too as I can't do the things with my child that i'd like to. I did have an operation last year to have a tape inserted to help with the stress part of it which it has but it was never the stress part that was the major concern, it's the urge part that's the main problem as it's so bad I now suffer panic attacks and have done for years. After 31 years of banging my head off a brick wall I just want to be taken seriously as I know there is procedures out there that will help me. Am I not entiteled to a life the same as everyone else?? Doesn't appear so and I'm now loosing faith in this ever getting sorted out :(

A few years ago my partner was under quite a bit of stress and experienced a weird feeling in his chest (like a hollow feeing,) and did pass out. He has since had the same feeling 3 times since (nothing in the last 2 years,) and all instances occurred while he was under stress (although he has only ever passed out the once,) he wore a heart monitor for a week and was admitted to A and E (when he passed out,) and both times the monitors showed nothing unusual. The GP seems to think it was a panic attack althouh I am not so sure. I am just a bit concerned as both his Dad and his brother have had heart problems and he was not particularly panicking at the time of the instances. He is in his mid twenties, non smoker Any one help or have any similar problems?

Hi Emma I think it's js easy for the doctors to put it dwn to stress Because they don't av an answer, I ad the same it's Stress but I'm nt stressed or ad any stress related issues I'm js at a loss with it Thanks for your reply Sharleen

it could be that you are under stress. a lot of hair-loss is caused by stress or recent truamas. maybe think back to when it started happening and wheather you had any stress related issues before or during.

I would just have sex when it feels right and don't stress.about the baby or the period stress can only make all that worse... O and the 3week thing is ok since u havnt been reg your body was kinda flushing extra and stress can prolong those things

Hi, I recently got told that I suffer from severe chronic tension headaches, stress and a sleeping disorder. I kept on going to the doctors continuously, talking about my problems, having loads of tests and everything just came back negative, so he put me on anti-depression pills to make me sleep, which was then supposed to make my stress levels reduced. I used to get headaches around 30 times a day, varying in pain levels, and i'd get dizzy all of the time because the stress was so bad. My doctor wanted me to go to a stress management class, but I feel like a physco going. Also, i've recently just got a boyfriend, and since then my headaches aren't as bad - but i don't want to be too dependant on my boyfriend just because he helps me reduce my stress levels. Can someone help me please? I feel like i should go to some sort of therapy, i feel myself going crazy inside with stress and there is no medication that can help me!

Hello Sarah! IF it is CD then stress can affect it a lot-and stress can also make things worse or make the CD move to another part of your body.Everyone doesn't get tremors, and some don't even get pain. We're all different.I''ve had no no syndrome all my life, which has now gone to no no - yes yes AND has now made my right arm and hand tremor badly.I'm sure caused by stress affecting the CD.

I have been suffering from ST for 3 years and was horrified to see this awful condition portrayed as "caused by stress" and cured by hypnotherapy. Giving viewers the idea that it is stress related does not help those who have to cope daily with this painful, embarrassing disease. Yes, stress makes it worse, relaxation techniques can help, but ST is a neurological movement disorder NOT all in the mind!

Hello, I often refer patients with dystonia to a clinical hypnotherapist. People should be aware that clinical hypnosis can target and change neurochemistry and muscles a.o. via hypnotic suggestion, decrease muscle-tension & spasming and increase control. As far as I am aware, no hypnotherapist ever mentions a cure, just a treatment. Many if not all of my patients have improved with hypnotherapy and spasms greatly reduced, so please do not discourage people to seek the treatment that in my professional opinion is in most cases the only treatment that produces results when botox does not. Sam

To all IBS sufferers; i completely empathise. I suffer with a rather extreme case of IBS. I am wheat and dairy intolerant as well as i cannot eat anything that has been deep fried, onions or bananas... mushypeas and lots of random things. my symptoms are caused by stress, howeverit is harder to counteract the stress when you are stressing over where the earest toilet is, if you are going to get really bad wind (which causes me the most stress), if your stomach is going to make stupid noises and more then anything what im going to eat next. Does anyone have an suggestions on how to destress? as it is kinda hard to overcome a problem caused by stress when you are stressing of the problem in question.

Andrew have you been to the Doctor yet?? Get tests done ensure it is not a sign of any other illness. There is form of cancers that have this as one one of the symptoms, so get it diagnosed firstly.. Another avenue is professional skin specialist, Dermatologist but you need a referral from Gp... Try not to stress, which I know is difficult but stress could be a trigger for this also.. Try swimming as a sport/ hobby this will help with stress and possibly elivate some discomfort even if it is for a hour or so whilst you swim..

I've got heritary CD and lately bad stress has caused bad tremors in my right arm and hand.Botox or medication hasn't helped, but I'm visiting the Clinic shown on the Programme, and am begining to deal with the stress tremors with thier help.No one is saying that stress management is a cure, but it can help me get my life back together again and continue living with the CD. It's worth considering for those of us with tremors?

There is a very striking relationship between acne and stress. Though it sound to be an unusual relation, it is very much true. A good sleep is also very much essential to ward off stress and have an acne free skin. Stress, sleep and acne are interrelated. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ifwx0t8Y4sU

To Sarah,...this is the first time I've vistied this site as I've only just tuned in to Embarresing Teenage Bodies. I've thought abour your comment and completely admit I'm not medically trained in any way but, do you think that this may be related to you stress levels? My GP advised me that if I have high stress levels then my Genital Herpes was more likely to appear. Perhaps think about what raises your stress levels..? Also bear in mind that it is important for us girls to know what contraceptive is good best for us. I have had a really bad times on 2 kinds and got emotionally unwell causing me to get really stressed. Realising what straesses me has done me a favours. So...make sure you try and find away of reducing some stress as a way of ruleing that out of the cause for you 'flare -ups'. Wishing you best of luck to get it under control sweetie....Em x

Charlotte, you're doing very well. Smiling helps! It really does :) But I have the problem you have. Write a list of 5 jobs you need to do for yourself. Make sure you do this everyday, so you get what you need done. Then write a list of 5 people who have asked for your help. Anybody after those 5 people, you should say "I'm very sorry, but I can't at the moment. I'm a little busy". If they don't respect that they aren't nice people.

My eye twitch started when my son moved in with me and gave me unnecessay stress and I noticed it went away when he moved out. He wanted to move back in this year and my eye started to twitch again so I said no. I'm thinking that eye twitches can be caused by stress. You can also talk yourself out of a twitch by trying to handle the stress.

I have been battling ic for over a year now I'm 21 and one thing I have found to get rid of the pain is not to stress. When I don't think about it and try to go about with my life the symtoms get so much better. They still come back and go but the more I stress the worse it gets. Hope this helps

I have had IC for over 20 years and have had distension twice and instillation. These treatments help for a while. Like you I have found stress to be the worst offender. Diet also makes a difference alcohol, coffee, tea, spicy food, sugar and anything acidic should be avoided.

Hi there don't worry about it stress can make your period late if you have had sex then you should take a home pregnancy test just to be on the safe side as some of your symptoms could mean your pregnant. I'm not sure about the lump sorry but don't stress!! :)

Dear Judi Thank you so much for the information. I shall definitely contact the clinic. I realise that stress does not cause the condition of dystonia but, in my case, a whiplash injury and or stress made the condition manifest itself in the 70s. After a year or two and after the stressful period, my condition appeared to go into remission for 28 years. Stress at work (from which I have now retired) caused another episode to begin two years ago. It is gradually improving, so I think, for me, hypnotherapy may really help. I do hope your neck problems improve. Best wishes. Victoria

Im 18 and have always suffered from stress, when I was doing my GCSE’s I lost so much weight and looked really unhealthy, as I got older I just started fainting. Recently ive been fainting a lot and its impossible for me to sleep, also I start to shake uncontrollably, and is impossible for me to do anything as I shake so bad, I also get really cold and shiver and usually my hands and lips also go numb. I have passed out and fitted before as well but blood test proved there was nothing wrong, stress makes everything worse but is stress the reason this is happening or is it a much more serous problem ?
