Speaking from experience it is unlikely you have a long term medical problem given that it has only started one year ago. Speak to the doctor about the Iontopheresis treatment it sounds more appropriate. Mind you after the treatment the saliva in your mouth dries up so I would recommend some oily foods to eat.

Im EXACTLY the same, i get sweaty hands feet and armpits! i went to the ddoctors and they also gave me a rolling thing to roll over my hands, when i put it on my hands dry up but they go all wrinkly and dont stay dry for that long! when i have to do dancing with boys in P.E its embaressing because i have to explain the problem! PLEASE can someone help me find a cure for this, i hate it and i dont want to have it for any longer! :(

I am 25 years old and it is ruining my life :-( basically they flush for no apparent reason and so many people comment and asay why are your hands so red or why are your feet so red? I went to my doctor and he constantly turned me away until I just had a breakdown. He has given me some medication which is usually for women on the menopause but it is having no effect! I really want to lead a normal life and not have to constantly have this. I cannot buy strappy shoes where it males my feet grow moew red. I go out on a date and I have to try and hide my hands over the table if they try hold my hand where a flush my have occured. They happen randomly and I am utterly sick of it. The heat given off is affecting me too please help !

I have the same problem. My hands and feet are bright red for no reason at all. Sometimes they are ice cold but still red. They stay like that about an hour or so after I get up. I don't know what is causing it but should would love to find out. It all started out about a month or so ago. I hope and pray we can find out what is going on

Im 15 and have been sweating from my hands for as long as i can remember.I really want to know if there is a simple way that will stop me from sweating at least for a whole or a couple of days? I really need help because my doctors don't take any notice of my hands sweating quite a lot of the time all they say is I'll grow out of it. This is also now becoming more annoying as I really really like my best friend who's a boy and he keeps wanting to hold my hand but I'm all sweaty so I keep saying no, this sweating is really affecting my social life right now as i am now also being taken the micky out of.

driclor, cover your hands in talcom powder first (this'll stop stinging) and put on the driclor before bed :) Makes your hands dry, but really works!

If you go see your GP they can refer you to the Dermatology department which specialize in sweat glands. They then test your sweat glands and can stop your heads and feet etc sweating by putting them under a machine which zaps the glands. I had it down under my arm pits and asked about hands aswell my boyfriend has that problem too. I hope this helps.

Hi Michelle, I am now 26 but I suffered with terrible sweaty hands and feet as a child which got worse during my teenage years. I got quite depressed about it and my confidence was really low so I know how your son feels. I tried roll on deodorants and then had Iontophoresis treatment which helped a little bit. In the end I had surgery (a sympathectomy)and it changed my life!! It doesn't help for sweaty feet but it completely stopped the sweating on my hands and under my arms. It is a major operation so its not something to do lightly but I can't tell you how much my life has improved since having it. I would suggest just starting with the roll on deodorants or maybe asking the GP about Iontophoresis. Hope you get some help for him. Lindsay x

I'm 15 and suffer from sweaty feet and palms..i also get very sweaty under my arm pits and stomach and back, and i understand how your son feels. However i went to the doctors and i was prescribed Pro-Banthine tablets and A roll-on deodarant. This have had a great effect and have greatly reduced my embarassing sweating. So i would say go back to your doctors and ask them, however it is possible as i was told that it's just hormones, and may just pass. Hope this helped

I'm 13, I have REALLY sweating hands! When my friends hold/touch my hand, they react with a disgusted face. When I go to parties or concerts my hands are always hot and sweaty. For example, me and my 3 friends went to see metro radio live and at the end I held one of my friends hands(so I didn't lose her) and she was like "holly, your hands are so sweaty". When I had my last long relationship, I didn't want to hold his hand because I was scared that he wouldn't like me. My mam and dad don't have sweaty hands but me and my brother have terrible hands. Could it be because of the temperature of my body?

Hi. I'm 17 and from Singapore. I've had sweaty palms ever since I was a kid, and I think that mine's probably in the genes because my dad had sweaty palms too. Also, my hands tend to be really warm to the touch, like my mom. My elder brother who's 19 also faces the same problem. We also have sweaty feet. Sometimes, me sweaty feet and palms can bring me so much embarrassment. For example, when I shake hands with people, they would ask if I have sweaty palms. And when my feet starts to sweat, it would sometimes be so serious that I leave "footsteps" on the ground. It also causes my shoes to smell even though I always wear socks. I really hope that I can live without being worried about things falling off from my hands and not leaving behind "footsteps" when I walk barefooted.

At my age everyone is holding hands and I always have to make an excuse like always holding something or pretending to rummage through my bag to get something otherwise they will be disgusted at my sweaty hands. It also affects my relationships, I really liked this boy, but I just had to turn him down due to my hands.. I really hate it and want to know how much one of them machines cost (the ones the shock you and block your sweat glands). Please help! "/

I am only 14 and my hands get sweaty all the time and its embarrassing because people are starting to notice at school. My hands look like ive just came out the bath as they go all wrinkly and are soaking with sweat and when they dry my skin goes all dry and breaks which makes it look flaky so i put hand creme on but it just looks like my hands are even more sweaty. I was wondering if you can help me or give me some advice on how i could reduce the amount of sweat my hands produce or even find a way to stop it, thanks!

This is so true I'm 15 and this is exactly what i do, look at it from a different point of view. i make jokes about my sweaty hands and if anyone winds me up depending on who they are laugh along or simply wipe my sweaty hand on their face.I also frequently wash my hands and have given up and just wipe my hands off, best advice.

I am 15 years old & I have sweaty hands. I feel really insecure whenever someone holds my hands, they are constantly sweating! Sometimes I have to say "no." or pull away or even walk off when someone tries to hold my hand or high five me. It gets even worse during an exan :'( I can't take it anymore!! & When I try to talk to my parents they just tell me "it's no big deal, lots of people have sweaty palms". I even tried talking to one of my friends & he just said "ye, i get sweaty palms too", but it's obviously not as bad as mine :( PLEASE HELP!!

Yes I know that it doesn't make your hands sweaty that why i think i have both Hyperhydrosis and Raynaud's syndrome because i either have really cold hands or really sweaty and it is so embarrassing in school :( thanks for commenting though :)

Since the start of winter, I have had sweaty hands. It embarrasses me so much, because people are like: "eww your hands are so sweaty" I hate it so much! Has anyone got any tips or advice? It often happens in a warm room (or around boys)
