Hi, Im 14 and I have very heavy sweating. My palms and feet always get uncontrollably sweaty, and its quite embarassing. Worst of all, my armpits sweat so much that I can't go out in just a top, as there will definately be sweat marks. My armpits feel very wet throughout the way, and are constantly dripping. I've tried loads of anti perspirants, but none of them work. Its really embarassing, help!

Hey, i'm 15 and suffer with a similar problem! It's horrible isn't it! I've heard a few things that are "supposed" to help the situation but haven't really worked for me but might for you such as; rubbing under your arms with lemmons or wash them regularly or one that i haven't tried yet but you can get botox to help ease the sweat glands! Hope that was some help:) Good Luck.

Hi I have a problem whereby if I don't eat for a few hours I get the shakes, sometimes get sweaty esp palms of my hands, I get really ratty and short tempered. I just have to eat something usually sugary foods to help me feel normal. I feel that I'm only 1 square meal away from chaos and would probably go into full panic mode if there wasn't anything to eat nearby I've recently given birth and have had the usual checks there for diabetes which have all come back clear. Anyone else get this? S

Hi. I'm 17 and from Singapore. I've had sweaty palms ever since I was a kid, and I think that mine's probably in the genes because my dad had sweaty palms too. Also, my hands tend to be really warm to the touch, like my mom. My elder brother who's 19 also faces the same problem. We also have sweaty feet. Sometimes, me sweaty feet and palms can bring me so much embarrassment. For example, when I shake hands with people, they would ask if I have sweaty palms. And when my feet starts to sweat, it would sometimes be so serious that I leave "footsteps" on the ground. It also causes my shoes to smell even though I always wear socks. I really hope that I can live without being worried about things falling off from my hands and not leaving behind "footsteps" when I walk barefooted.

It gets even worse during an exan :'( I can't take it anymore!! & When I try to talk to my parents they just tell me "it's no big deal, lots of people have sweaty palms". I even tried talking to one of my friends & he just said "ye, i get sweaty palms too", but it's obviously not as bad as mine :( PLEASE HELP!!

what did u use to stop ur armpit sweat? Pls help

I'm 16 and have had sweaty palms since I could remember. I've only started to have sweaty armpits and sweaty feet since the age of 14 and it's begun to ruin my life. I can't wear colours besides black and this has really affected me. I've used different treatments but they seem to work and then stop after a while. I'm not very keen on botox but was wondering if there was anything else that would help me.

You have three choices really. 1: Check out some of the products you can get in places like Boots/Superdrug such as Driclor or Odaban. 2: Order something like the Klima spray from sweatguard.co.uk, which would roughly be in the same league as the Boots/Superdrug stuff. 3: Go and see your doctor and try different courses of treatments. There's tablets, topical treatments (which may end up being Driclor, something you can get without a prescription) Iontophoresis, and as a very last resort, surgery. You should sign up at verysweatybetty.com!

hey holly,im 15 and i suffer with it too, last year my doctor refured me to the childrens hospital and i used a Iontophoresis machine they give them you for 3months and if they work you can by one,i have one but it doesnt stop it completly,it just calms it down, annoying that you have to keep doing it but its honestly worth it. hope this helps x

I'm 16 and I've only realised this year that when I'm doing exams my palms go absolutely crazy with sweat. I've started to notice it daily everytime I write and it's really embarrassing when the sweat runs onto my books or if I need to shake someone's hand. I've got cold sweaty feet also and tend to sweat anyway in armpits even with anti-perspirants. My biggest worry of all is the sweaty palms - especailly at GCSE exams - it definately slows me down in long written exams like english, geography, religion etc... Please....any suggestions??

Hello, I'm a 17 year old girl and I believe I suffer from Hyperhidrosis. I'm too scared to go to the doctors or tell my parents though. It really limits my life and I can never relax because I have to worry about my sweat patched constantly. Having this just doesn't let me enjoy myself. I can't wear the clothes I want too and I can't have fun whilst I'm out. Whenever I go to a restaurant it also takes me ages to eat because my palms become sweaty so my knife and fork are hard to use. It doesn't help that I'm very anxious socially too, so with these combined I have 0 confidence and it's making me very unhappy. Is there anything I can do? I've been suffering since I was 12. It can be -2 degrees out side and I'll be shivering yet I still have sweat patched and sweaty palms. I'm in need of help.

I can relate to all you've said so well. I'm 18 now and I've had sweaty palms and feet since I was a child. I remember one time in primary school my teacher scolded me for making my paper wet. That was probably one of my earliest memories of being embarrassed. Whenever we had to hold hands with people, I would usually be asked why my hands were wet and I would always come up with an excuse. It has become very tiring. I also felt exactly the same as you when it came to exams. It seemed like most of the time I was more worried about making the exam paper wet or having teachers notice than actually concentrating on the exam. In a way, I may have done slightly better had my palms not been so sweaty. Eventually I went to the doctors and he recommended a roll-on which has been quite effective if used everyday. Sometimes my hands become so dry that they begin to crack (and sometimes bleed) but I just discontinue use for a few days. Try to refrain from using moisturiser! I've found that using a moisturiser will bring your palms back to its original state and you'll have to begin the whole process of slowly reducing the sweating day by day.
