Am 29 years old female and has suffered with folliculitis for 10 years on my legs,i havent showen my legs in 10 years because my legs look like i have acne on them. I have large red swelling on my legs and there very score. I stopped shaving years ago, and rarely remove my leg hair because of this problem. I have tryed everything going but nothing helps not even for a few days. Folliclitis makes me very depressed as it never gets solved 10 years with this condistion and its still with me.. why i dont know. My legs are a mess and no docter has EVER helped me sort this problem out for good.Hope someone can help me sort this problem out once and for all...Thanks
I had a similar condition on my legs - right down the front of my shins on each leg for years and years. The itching was so great that I couldn't resist it, even though it made it worse. After being prescribed loads of creams, the only one that actually cleared it up is called Dermovate cream. Sometimes it breaks out again, but a couple of days of this cream sees it off. Good luck.
I have folliculitis on my legs and have finally found a remedy that works. My doctor has been worse than useless! I have about a litre of water each day containing 4 teaspoons organic cider vinegar, I drink it whenever I am thirsty. I also drink other things (Tea, juice, plain water etc) and I use cotton wool to spread cider vinegar across my legs on itchy spots. and it is working, workiing very well. This last week I have slept through with no itching, I have no new breakouts and my legs are beginning to heal. I am amazed!! Oh by the way, I don't smoke and I don't eat sweets and have very little sugar in my diet or white bread or wheat.
My husbands legs ( from knees to ankle) are swollen. He is in so much pain that sometimes it's unbearable pain. He's been seen by the doctors who keep giving him special socks to wear to reduce the swelling, which it does for a couple of hours but then the swelling returns when he walks. He can't walk for long, can't stand for long. He has been advised by the doctor that he needs to keep his legs elevated. This can be tough as he works in an office. He's struggling to sleep as he's in constant pain. The doctors have now told him to lose weight to see if that maybe the cause, but he's unable to exercise as the swelling returns. His legs have now been swollen for 3 weeks he's been to see the doctor again who have now said they will refer him to have X-rays. He is struggling a lot. We have a 2year old daughter and she's missing out on having fun with her daddy. His right calf has discoloured, it's like a dark purple colour again the doctors can't do anything for him. He's gaining weight as he can't walk for long, he can't sleep at night, to get through the night he eats to try to ignore the pain. It is now affecting our marriage. Can you please help us. PLease help my husband, he is only 33, when this problem started 4 years ago he was told the doctors can't do anything, he was advised to maybe have his legs amputated. That is not an option. Please can you help him and diagnose him. The doctors have said they will register him disabled So that we can get financials help as he's unable to work for long hours.

Hi I'm a 39 year old woman I've been having problems with my legs they get swollen and may seem like water retention I've been using different medication prescribed and have been to the gp and the hospital but all results come normal and the gps don't seem to know what is causing the swelling in my legs. Please if you could provide any answers will be appreciated Thankyou
I had the same problem after my 3rd child (2nd birth, twins 1st). I was 42, I was tested for everything from lupus to rheumatiod arthritis. Western medicine has no idea what it is (ideopathic). I found relief from acupuncture, supplements of horse chestnut and manjistha (an auyervedic lymph cleanse supplement and getting tested for food sensitivities had the biggest impact. I found I was sensitive to gluten, dairy, eggs, bananas and beef. I have cut out the food and had a tremendous improvement. Not totally resolved but much better on a day to day basis.

Im 47 female both my feet and calfs swell if I've only been standing or walking for a short time my feet get so painful that sometimes I end up crying with the pain, they swell dramatically and the only way I can get swelling down is to stay in bed for 24hrs and then my feet and legs feel permanently bruised, I've also got I large hard lump on the bottom of my left foot and 2 under my right foot which are very tender to touch and sometimes imposs to walk, standing still is too painful this has been going on approx 6yrs and is getting worse I had urine sample taken and doctor said all was normal Also had X-ray nothin abnormal found!!!!! I also get shooting pains in my left big toe doc thought it could be gout...... But tests came back negative this all seemed to start from a twinge in my right middle toe followed by it swelling and swelling within 5hrs my whole leg doubled in size and then I was crippled in agony with shooting pains moving all over both legs doctors rushed me to hospital for possible blood clot........ And yep you guessed it. Nothin abnormal found. Maz
I'm having exactly the same symptoms and as you say, nothing seems to be resolved at doctors with it, despite having high blood pressure, diabetes and coronary heart disease run in family, does anyone even care at my doctors I sometimes wonder.
I am 29 years old, overweight, but do keep fit by boxing, running, and cross training, but my right leg is bigger than my left, and if I press into the skin, I leave a ruddy great big indentation. My legs have been like this since my early teens, but mum didn't see the point in taking me to the doctor (as she has swelling in her legs, but a lot more prominant than mine). Is there anything I can do to prevent this? or is the damage done?
my right foot has been swollen for the last five years approx. it was x rayed and there was nothing broken. ive never had swelling of any other body parts and my left foot is normal. i stopped wearing high heeled shoes as a result and i have to buy bigger more comfortable shoes as the right foot needs more room to be comfortable.when im wearing the flat shoes the swelling doesnt appear so bad but if i was to wear high heels for a day, the swelling increases. the swelling is at the top of my foot and also there is a hard swelling at the right front of my ankle.
Hey, My dad is type 2 diabetic, and has been for 2 years now. He is overweight and suffers all kinds of problems. There is one problem on the bottom parts of his legs he has an aggressive purple swelling. There is also like tiny sacs of what i believe to be water all over the bruising. He has been to his GP but all they prescribe to him is E45 cream as sometimes the bruising is dry. It has caused the skin on his legs to be extremely tight and this has made it extremely uncomfortable to put pressure on. I am very worried and hope someone can help me. Many Thanks Lauren.
I had a adult circumcision 1 year ago, however, there is still considerable swelling. Is there any corrective surgery to deal with this? It does not seem as if the swelling will go down. THanks
