my right foot has been swollen for the last five years approx. it was x rayed and there was nothing broken. ive never had swelling of any other body parts and my left foot is normal. i stopped wearing high heeled shoes as a result and i have to buy bigger more comfortable shoes as the right foot needs more room to be comfortable.when im wearing the flat shoes the swelling doesnt appear so bad but if i was to wear high heels for a day, the swelling increases. the swelling is at the top of my foot and also there is a hard swelling at the right front of my ankle.

Men like woman have hormonal imbalances at different times throughout the month. Have you had your iron levels checked at the doctor? When people have low iron a lot of the time it can show itself in people's mouths and swelling gingivae is one area that can be affected.

I have the same problem with extreme swelling and discharge. I would really like to know what it could be.

i may have just found out what this is by looking at another programme on channel 4. there was a girl on there with simular syptoms and she was allergic to her boyfrinds semen, this could be the problem.

Every time after sex i get swelling, a little blood and soreness. I can feel my stitches from forceps giving birth 5 years ago,the blood is coming from there i think? im now 23 weeks pregnant and worried the stitches will hurt even more during childbirth. i would also like the swelling and pain to stop Thanks

Just after Christmas I was kneeling, moved then felt a sharp pain as if I had knelt on a pin or a sharp piece of lego. I have had no swelling, no problems with joint movement, popping or locking, just this sharp pain if I kneel on my knee a certain way - kind of on the top part of the knee cap. I recently went to the doctors and they diagnosed Housemaid's knee and suggested that I could look up some exercises to help, but that it should go away on it's own. However - every site I look at to find exercises/ treatments talk of Housemaid's knee involving swelling, certainly to start with (the swelling disappears as it becomes cronic aparently) so I am starting to wonder if this is the correct diagnosis? Anyone experienced something similar? Is is really Housemaid's knee? Thanks.

I doubt it is Housemaid's knee. See a surgeon and get an MRI done. I had exactly the same problem with my knee a few years ago. Didn't do anything unusual but just felt one day I couldn't kneel on it as if felt like I was kneeling on a thumbtack. No swelling, Had surgery - torn meniscus. It's been excellent since and that was done 8 years ago. My specialist said, if you can't kneel on a knee then it time to get it medically sorted out.

Hello, I have suffered from SLE since I was 16 and the illness has been causing kidney problems.I have been taking steroid over 10 years and I got 2 really bad flares of the illness which led to heavy swelling of my whole body. After the swelling went down, a lot of stretch marks appeared on my inner thighs and around the joints of my shoulders and knees. They are silver colour and very obvious. The stretch mearks between my shoulders and arms just look like a worm,I am really embarassed whenever somebody asks me what's that. I have tried some cream that claimed they can help to improve the situation, however, they didn't seem really work on me. According to my situation, are there any ways can help me to get rid of them??

I had surgery for a hydrocele and I have a large amount of swelling and an excessive amount of skin in the areas of the scrotum and the penis. The swelling is the size of a baseball or larger. The operation was six days ago and I have been taking meds for three days after my release. Will the swelling go down.

The swelling will go down, it just takes a while, I found after my recent hydrocele operation that after about four weeks the swelling reduces down alot and you can walk normally again. Warm baths can be a nice relief, keep an eye out for your wound opening up and for infection, it took 3 weeks of antibiotics for mine to go away and for the wound to seal completely. It does take quite a while for everything to go back to normal size though.

It will definately go away - 3-4 weeks

I believe I have Raynauds It has actually gotten worse over the years. I feel it in my hands and arms more than anything especially when I hold something cold it takes just a few minutes to have my hands swell to the point i feel like there going to explode. My fingers turn white then very red when the swelling goes down. It takes about an hour to go down and even then my hands don't feel the same for awhile. They hurt to the touch. This happens to my arms as well if I'm holding something cold. I think it's about time i go see the doc.

Hi I am 25 and have really bad White vaginal discharge. It soaks my underwear every day. I am also very swollen and sore. Sex is very painful at the moment due to the swelling and I can't go out for to long as I get so uncomfortable and painful. I have tried thrush creams and wearing loose cotton underwear and clothes. I noticed it started when u had my son 4 years ago. I had stitches when I had him and most of the swelling usually starts at the end of the scar. The swelling has been there for about 3 months and the pain too. Please help.

I suffer from Lymphodema in the lower left leg after conatcting Strep A Septacemia (April 09). I had severe swelling when I left the hospital. Once the severe swelling subsided I found my leg swelled if I did not move regulary. The only treatment I was offered (that worked) were compression socks which helped to a certain extent. I only used these for a few months and just put up with minimal swelling. In February I went on the Cambridge Diet and I lost 3 stone and that coupled with drinking 4 litres of water a day has resulted in no swelling at all, although the leg (mainly the ankle) are only slightly bigger than the right. Although the programme highlighted the serverity of the conbdition it was disapointing that drinking water can help such a condition. Enjoying the series!

Lipoedema is probably hereditary and is marked by abnormal and sometimes painful fat on the legs and sometimes on the arms. Almost always in women only. Lymphoedema is fluid swelling anywhere in the body, in men or women. The former can cause the latter, or there can be other causes. Contact Lipoedema.co.uk. We are campaigning for more understanding and recognition. There will be publicity in July.

I'm so excited that you are bringing light to this painful disease. I see so many people with it, starving themselves. You will be doing a great service to a population that has been maligned. It's so common, but especially here in the states we want to blame the patients. Thank you.

Hi lea, I'm 34. Ive had the same problem since i was 14. I have them so regularly, if i dont feel or see one im wondering where it's at. Crazy huh? I get them on my pubic area, breast, neck, buttocks and i used to get them under my arms. It got so bad under my arms, i had a total of 34 under my arms. Some were tiny and some were large. I had to have a surgey to remove glands and all from under my arms. It was the most unthinkable pain to date and i've had twins naturally. But since my surgey in 2003 i've not had anymore under my arms. I do notice i tend to see them more around my cycle so i definately believe it has a lot to do with my harmones too. Good luck and God bless!

My face and arms go red when i talk or am even slightly embarrassed. I cant cover up my arms at work because i am a nurse, nobody elses arms look as red as mine do, it gets me down because it is so visible. Also if i drink alcohol, my arms, chest and face get very red and hot patches, people think i am sunburnt, it looks awful. My confidence is low because of this.

I am 52, I use lubricating gel when aroused & just after I wash downstairs. It seems to ease the swelling and after a while it looks better. This is only my experience so please consult a doctor f1rst. I have been using gel lubricant for about 4 years now, no side effects, reduces rubbing and swelling after a while. I use the gel every other day when I can remember but always after washing/bathing/before masterbating.

I've got a keloid scar on my two Rook ear piercings. They occured about a month after i got them pierced. It was all looking fine until i saw a bit of swelling by the outer piercing. These then started swelling up and look like a bubble on the skin between the ball of the earring. I'm using tea tree oil and vit E oil to sort them out. I've heard that they take months to go away. I just hope they don't get any bigger :/
