I had a adult circumcision 1 year ago, however, there is still considerable swelling. Is there any corrective surgery to deal with this? It does not seem as if the swelling will go down. THanks

I have the same problem with extreme swelling and discharge. I would really like to know what it could be.

i may have just found out what this is by looking at another programme on channel 4. there was a girl on there with simular syptoms and she was allergic to her boyfrinds semen, this could be the problem.

Every time after sex i get swelling, a little blood and soreness. I can feel my stitches from forceps giving birth 5 years ago,the blood is coming from there i think? im now 23 weeks pregnant and worried the stitches will hurt even more during childbirth. i would also like the swelling and pain to stop Thanks

Just after Christmas I was kneeling, moved then felt a sharp pain as if I had knelt on a pin or a sharp piece of lego. I have had no swelling, no problems with joint movement, popping or locking, just this sharp pain if I kneel on my knee a certain way - kind of on the top part of the knee cap. I recently went to the doctors and they diagnosed Housemaid's knee and suggested that I could look up some exercises to help, but that it should go away on it's own. However - every site I look at to find exercises/ treatments talk of Housemaid's knee involving swelling, certainly to start with (the swelling disappears as it becomes cronic aparently) so I am starting to wonder if this is the correct diagnosis? Anyone experienced something similar? Is is really Housemaid's knee? Thanks.

I doubt it is Housemaid's knee. See a surgeon and get an MRI done. I had exactly the same problem with my knee a few years ago. Didn't do anything unusual but just felt one day I couldn't kneel on it as if felt like I was kneeling on a thumbtack. No swelling, Had surgery - torn meniscus. It's been excellent since and that was done 8 years ago. My specialist said, if you can't kneel on a knee then it time to get it medically sorted out.

I'm 17 and i small swelling appeared on the side of my penis. Im average size, just under 6 inches. The swelling was quite tender, and now its gone. but my penis kinda hurts when im getting an erection but not when i have one. also, my erections dont seem as full or strong as they used to be and its harder to get an erection and they are less frequent, which is worrying. any help on what this could be would be great. PS. im not sexually active and havent had sex, so i know its not an STD

I recently had a sexual experience with a guy I didn't know all that well, we did not have sex, but we did have oral. It was quite rough, and I ended up with a few tears in my skin which i seem to get reasonably often. But a day later I noticed the swelling had gotten quite bad and that I had a few ingrown hairs (I wax)-but this has all been getting worse. There are now sores all over, and the swelling is worse, and it hasn't even been a week. I don't know what it is but it looks like pictures of herpes. I don't feel very sick, but I did have a bit of a cold before hand which I still have. could this all be a result of being too rough or is it likely that an STI presented this fast?

I have the same problem! It's awful pain and I find it difficult to urinate because if any touches the skin it stings like hell! I've been to the gynecologist and he said there was no sign of herpes, it was just pretty sore and swollen down there. It's been 3 maybe 4 days and the swelling has gone down but there is still a very painful sore which to me looks like a cut from maybe a scratch. I'm worried about how long it may take to heal because due the pain I'm off work and I begin university tomorrow! If you could let me know how you're feeling now and how long it took for the problem to go away I would really appreciate it as I'm getting worried.

I am 15 years old and have very noticeable swelling around the base of my penis on my right side around the prostate area. It is very tender and it is most noticeable when I have an erection. The swelling continues into my scrotum area for about 2cm and it looks like an extra testicle at the top of my scrotum. I have to urinate regularly and it sometimes keeps my up at night. I have no pain when I ejaculate or urinate though and there is no blood. Anyone that can help me or has gotten over these symptoms please help me, I am very worried..!

I had surgery for a hydrocele and I have a large amount of swelling and an excessive amount of skin in the areas of the scrotum and the penis. The swelling is the size of a baseball or larger. The operation was six days ago and I have been taking meds for three days after my release. Will the swelling go down.

The swelling will go down, it just takes a while, I found after my recent hydrocele operation that after about four weeks the swelling reduces down alot and you can walk normally again. Warm baths can be a nice relief, keep an eye out for your wound opening up and for infection, it took 3 weeks of antibiotics for mine to go away and for the wound to seal completely. It does take quite a while for everything to go back to normal size though.

It will definately go away - 3-4 weeks

Hi I am 25 and have really bad White vaginal discharge. It soaks my underwear every day. I am also very swollen and sore. Sex is very painful at the moment due to the swelling and I can't go out for to long as I get so uncomfortable and painful. I have tried thrush creams and wearing loose cotton underwear and clothes. I noticed it started when u had my son 4 years ago. I had stitches when I had him and most of the swelling usually starts at the end of the scar. The swelling has been there for about 3 months and the pain too. Please help.

I suffer from Lymphodema in the lower left leg after conatcting Strep A Septacemia (April 09). I had severe swelling when I left the hospital. Once the severe swelling subsided I found my leg swelled if I did not move regulary. The only treatment I was offered (that worked) were compression socks which helped to a certain extent. I only used these for a few months and just put up with minimal swelling. In February I went on the Cambridge Diet and I lost 3 stone and that coupled with drinking 4 litres of water a day has resulted in no swelling at all, although the leg (mainly the ankle) are only slightly bigger than the right. Although the programme highlighted the serverity of the conbdition it was disapointing that drinking water can help such a condition. Enjoying the series!

I am 52, I use lubricating gel when aroused & just after I wash downstairs. It seems to ease the swelling and after a while it looks better. This is only my experience so please consult a doctor f1rst. I have been using gel lubricant for about 4 years now, no side effects, reduces rubbing and swelling after a while. I use the gel every other day when I can remember but always after washing/bathing/before masterbating.

I've got a keloid scar on my two Rook ear piercings. They occured about a month after i got them pierced. It was all looking fine until i saw a bit of swelling by the outer piercing. These then started swelling up and look like a bubble on the skin between the ball of the earring. I'm using tea tree oil and vit E oil to sort them out. I've heard that they take months to go away. I just hope they don't get any bigger :/

hi Jess, i admire you for having the courage to do the op im 20 and suffer from enlarged inner labias on both sides its destroying me i know i need to go to the doctors but im so scared & embarrased, can i ask u a few things where did u get it done? did u go to the doctors and did they refer you on the NHS? hw long did u have to wait? does it hurt a lot afterwards like when u wake up? what about the bleeding and swelling? i really need help whats the name of the surgeon that done it for you also any regrets? thanks x

hi! for me it was the one side much bigger than the other, i went to the doctor in november who revered me to st marys in manchester (NHS), this took a couple of mouths. At this appointment i explained the lack of confidents it has given me and how it is effecting me... she then explained the risks, agreed to do the surgery, but gave me an extra mouth to think if it was defiantly wot i wanted to do before i arrange a date. My appointment was last monday and im very bad with needels and pain so was terrifyed, but it went really well, they put me to sleep really quickly and wen i woke up ther was very minimal pain. Going to the toliet has been painless which i was surprized about! the only issue is the swelling that means its painful to wear underwear or touch, but untouched its completely painless! its really hard to tell what its going to look or feel like at the mo! but no regrets so far!! any other questions feel free to ask me anything :-)

Ive got ten piercings and every single one has pussed atleast a little bit, its normal and so is the swelling and soreness. Just clean it regularly with warm salty water (sea salt is best). However, if pussing, swelling and soreness is still ocouring in a week or two i would personally seek advice from your GP :)

I had a swelling under my right big toe 18 months ago, my local doctor advised it was gout, however, the only pain was when I tried to stand on my foot due to the swelling. After the swelling went down there was no pain at all, but this condition has left me with a tingling in my feet with the feeling of the base of my feet being slightly swollen from time to time, I have no medication, in good health, normal blood pressure and 62 years old. All the information on gout indicates severe pain, I have not had any pain, can anyone offer any explanation for this condition, I lead a normal life with the condition and would like to know why this just appeared, thank you.
