Conditions with symptom: 'swollen abdomen'
Hello I am 20 years old and I am experiencing a lot of pain in both testicles, not just when I exert myself at times they recede into my body cavity and I have to physically pull them back down. I also have 2 swollen bumps on my abdomen, doctors say they are swollen lymph nodes but aren't sure. any answers?
I have had a persistent right sided lower back pain, which I thought was from my job. Only just over a month ago I noticed the right hand size of my lower abdomen was swollen and I was in alot of pain and had unusual bleeding. I was taken to the local walk in centre and they thought it was a suspected appendicitis. I was taken to the hospital to be examined. It turns out I had a uti infection and suspected utereric stones, and I had to take time off work because of the pain. I had a ultrasound 2 days ago and nothing could be found. Although when the doctor pushed the scanner onto the swollen part of my stomach there was a sharp pain, and since then I have had the lower abdomen pain again along with the swelling and I have also started bleeding again. I don't have periods because I have the implant. I am currently waiting on an xray and the camera. I have not got any idea what it could be. I am worrying now because my sister has pcos, fibroids and also had to have an ovarian cyst removed that was 30cm big. If anyone could help I would be very greatful.
My period was due on 7th Feb, but still hasnt arrived, i have tender breasts, swollen lower abdomen nausea, and headaches, but 2 hpt showed negative. I am confused as to what this might be, any ideas?
I am even more confused now as today I have clear discharge, with brown tiny flakes of tissue/skin? Still no menstrual cycle.
hi hun i find for myself that home pregnancy tests dont work till im 8 weeks pregnant but i had those symptoms with my daughter, so i'd go to the doctor and see if they can do a test for you. my doctor was reluctant due to the home tests being negative he said they are usually right but it turned out they were wrong and i was pregnant so try to push the issue with the doctor if they are reluctant or see a different doctor, hope this helps
My abdomen is swollen from immediately below my ribcage and sticks out as though I am 8 months pregant, which is impossible as I am well over 50 and past the menopause by 11 years! When I breathe in, it does not feel "fat", but muscley, and it grew in just over a month. I have never been fat in my life and eat very healthily. I am annoyed more than anything, but what is causing this: I am not fat anywhere else
I have had the same problem but i also have terrible pain which feels like someone sticking a knife in my side
I have this! I can't wear tight tops because I look pregnant, however I am not! This occured when I had the rod implanted but apparently there are not related! I hate feeling like this, its horrible, what should I do?
Hey, so I'm fiftenn year old vorgin, all though I do have a 'play about ' with my boyfriend. After doing this, a few days later my lower abdomen has became rock hard a and swollen a little. I have started to produce thick creamy discharge and it smells :/ I thought I was pregnant and spent the whole weekend worrying, but I figured it can't be that if ive never had sex? Please help :( CLO x
If he put his finger inside you and youve never done that before (his fingers are ofcourse thicker then yours so if you put your own inside its still different) it can hurt at that time but also afterwards. The discharge is normal its your vagina keeping itself clean for infections. Somewhere on this page ive explaind how that works just never use soap there only special soap ;)
i have protruding ribs and a swollen abdomen.no one will tell me what is causing it.what is causing my ribs to stick out
I have the same condition:(. My doctor says it common (although I rarely see anyone else with this condition). The only way to fix it is surgery. No excersices or therapys could help. I have it to and its not affecting me in anyway except making my body look kinda weird:( I'm a boy BTW. My ribs stick out right below my nipples and the middle of my chest sticks in. Around the heart.
I've had re-occuring water infections aka cystitus for about 2 years now. I have been given anti-biotics by doctors and walk-in-centres they seemed to clear them when I first started getting them. But recently they don't work as well. And when I have sent off my urine to check if theres sign of infection there it has come back clear. I have a constant pain down below near my uretha and abdomen pain that just won't stop and this is causing me to be deeply depressed. (I worry about going places incase the pain comes on strongly and am always off work) I've been tested for chlmydia as the syptoms can be similar to cystitus but it has come back as clear. I am going to a GUM clinic tommorow just incase it's anything else because I can't rule out what it definetly is or not. Doctors have been no help and can't give me anti-biotics if my tests come out as clear even though the symptons match and am in incontrollable pain. Please give me some advice? Main symptons are urge to go to pee, burining if only pee a small amount, sometimes I get realive when I release my bowels, also strong pains in the lower abdomen and my uretha looks abit swollen?
I have suffered from cystitis since the age of 16. Nobody can understand how debilitating and painful it us unless they have had it. I literally can't leave the loo, and am in so much pain that it sounds like I'm in labour to the innocent bystander! It has taken many years to be able to cope with it/know what to do/all the 'tricks'. I hope that this is all accurate, but I am not a scientist...this is just from my personal experience. I can imagine any medical professional will cringe at my apparent 'lax' attitude to antibios, but when I talk about getting them, it is in reference to my own person expereince. I also encountered my urine results coming up negative, when I have had cystitus, BUT you MUST pay attention to this and explore the other possibilities, (eg Interstitial Cystitis (not treated with antibios, I think and a strong possibiliy if antibios are not working) / uretha infection (long course of anti bios) an STI (various treatments obv) ) but it is totally possible for it not to show up, only because I am such an expert I feel confident to explain this to a doc and am 100% sure of what I have. Most medical professionals I have encountered do not know that the results can still come back negative, so take some research with you. What I would say to you is do whatever you have to do to get some antibios - see if it works. Try a different clinic/Dr - you will get totally different responses from each person you see. (see Lloyds Pharmacy) The cranberry juice thing is actually negligable and often contested - I know it would not touch the sides with me. I have to have antibios, I don't know why this is, I know some people are ok (if they hardly suffer from it) without antibios. As it is so debilitating and painful, I wouldn't recommend bothering to wait to see if it works, just drink as much water as you can & get straight to the Docs, as the pain is exponential. First tip for reoccurring sufferers, you can ask for Trimethoprim as a preventative antibiotic. So for me, if I have sex that I think may lead to cystitis, I take one afterwards and it prevents the bacteria from being able to develop. In conjunction with this, ask for a reserve course of antibiotics for when you do develop it. Take a few everywhere you go, never be without them. It can take 17 hours after sex until I know that I have developed it, so as soon as you feel it, you can take one. I have been told by another doctor, even after the above was part of my medical routine on file, that he would not do this for me and that I have to come in and do a test each time. I understand totally the reasons for this, but the extreme pain/time to get to a docs mean that I have no choice but not to accept this. Until I got an understanding/switched on doc I used to keep a few tablets back from a course for emergencies. If your doctor is not on board with the above 2 prescription suggestions, you can point them to the official NHS stance; http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Cystitis/Pages/Treatment.aspx You can also use Lloyds online pharmasist. A GODSEND. Fill out their online info/form and within half an hour the perscription will be waiting for you at your designated Lloyds pharmacy (if approved) Its £20 and you only get 6, but I would pay anything and do anything for those antibios! ALSO you can order antibios online. I have bought some because its cheaper than always going to the docs and I am sure of my problem, but I wouldn't advise this unless you are 100% sure of what you are dealing with.
Hi Im 23. 2 months ago I had intermittent Diarrhea and pain all over my abdomen. The diarrhea stopped, but since then the pain in my abdomen when I eat is unbearable at times, and I move my bowels between 2 and 5 times per day. I am extremely exhausted all the time, and my abdomen gets very distended and painful. Before this, I had gastritis and acid reflux in my stomach, and take acid inhibitors every day. My GP tried anti biotics at first, which didnt make a difference. He referred me then for a colonoscopy, but the waiting list is 8 months and I can barely function or go to work because of the pain, exhaustion, and frequesnt trips to the toilet. It doesnt seem to matter what I eat, whether its vegetable soup or a burger, the pain an need to go to the toilet seems the same. someone please help me!
this sounds very much like ibs to me?

I've had a sore throat for about a week now, I took a look today and can see that my tonsils are very swollen (patchy red and white) with a few white spots on them. My glands are very swollen as well. My tonsils are gradually getting more swollen. However, I have no other symptoms of tonsillitis; Having had it a couple times in my childhood I know its not that.
You might have glandular fever
