Its been like this for some time now the base of my heel is tender to walk on

I've had a sore throat for about a week now, I took a look today and can see that my tonsils are very swollen (patchy red and white) with a few white spots on them. My glands are very swollen as well. My tonsils are gradually getting more swollen. However, I have no other symptoms of tonsillitis; Having had it a couple times in my childhood I know its not that.

My 9month son has a very swollen tongue. He has been to hospital with it and we have been told that its just the way its developed. Lately he has it sticking all of the time and also has lumps on his neck which the doctor says is just swollen lymph nodes. it is only one side that is swollen and the same side of his neck with the lumps. Could this be the same problem as the boy from the monday night programme? Who would i have to ask my doctor to refer me to?

Ive had prickly heat thats resulted in swollen arms and face ! It all started with the rash all over my legs and torso, suffering from this prickly heat previously and being on a friday i couldnt visit the doctor so nipped to the chemist and bought hydricortizone creme and antihisthamine tablets (30mg) with proved useless. I then went back on the sunday for calamine lotion to soothe the burning and brouht a fan home to cool the room. Visiting the doctor on the Monday he said 'yes its prickly heat' and prescribed 180mg antihisthamine tablets. They eased itching for 4-5 hrs but skin was dry flaky and sore. By the friday my arms were swollen so i went to see a diffrent doctor but he said the same. By 5am the next day and days of hardly any decent sleep my face was swollen so took myself to A&E where they injected saline fluid, strong antihisthamine and adrenaline, took blood (after struggling to find a vein from swollen arms) but blood tests and urine came back ok. Im now on day 11 with arms like a burns victim and eyes nose ears swollen with terrible sore dry flaky itchy skin :(

Poor you! I can really sympathise with you. I've always had swollen ankles AND swollen wrists. I, too, have been told (many times) it's something I have to live with. Apparently, even liposuction would not work. The one thing I'm thankful for is the fact that my arms and legs are virtually hairless - I've never had to shave anywhere (and, yes, I am female!) - which is the only reason I'm not too bitter about it. You may be luckier than me as I'm much older than you. There may be a miracle medical breakthrough in the future, who knows? In the meantime, I'm afraid that - at the moment at least - you'll just have to carry on avoiding shorts and short skirts (they're overrated anyway!)

My daughter is four years old and has severely swollen tonsils, they touch when she sticks her tongue out, she has no other symptoms and I noticed this a month ago, is this normal?? I took her to a doctor, and they gave me a nurse instead who said they were just swollen. She also snores loudly. I've looked it up and found nothing, why are they swollen??

I'm not even pregnant and I'm having the same exact symptoms. I do oral with my boyfriend but that's It and every time It happens to me it gets somewhat swollen and heavy feeling. It always happens I'm 16. I hope nothing serious is going on. The first time it was really swollen, like the whole thing, but every time he does it now it just gets red around the vagina and semi-swollen , but this time whenever I walk or sit down I feel like I'm sitting on something or like ssomething is pushing against my opening. Please reply, anybody. :(

Hi lea, I'm 34. Ive had the same problem since i was 14. I have them so regularly, if i dont feel or see one im wondering where it's at. Crazy huh? I get them on my pubic area, breast, neck, buttocks and i used to get them under my arms. It got so bad under my arms, i had a total of 34 under my arms. Some were tiny and some were large. I had to have a surgey to remove glands and all from under my arms. It was the most unthinkable pain to date and i've had twins naturally. But since my surgey in 2003 i've not had anymore under my arms. I do notice i tend to see them more around my cycle so i definately believe it has a lot to do with my harmones too. Good luck and God bless!

My face and arms go red when i talk or am even slightly embarrassed. I cant cover up my arms at work because i am a nurse, nobody elses arms look as red as mine do, it gets me down because it is so visible. Also if i drink alcohol, my arms, chest and face get very red and hot patches, people think i am sunburnt, it looks awful. My confidence is low because of this.

Hello my name is laura I'm 21, I've suffered with ezcema ever since I was little. For the past few months my eczema has flared up, but it's only around my neck and down both of my arms, however it's very swollen, bright red and it's appearance makes it looks like I have been scalded. Any ideas or help on what I can do? It gets very uncomfortable and sore. Thank you, Laura

Laura, if you like many others have applied topical steroid creams for a long period of time, or used other forms of steroid medication to treat your eczema, you may be suffering from what is now being termed 'topical steroid addiction'. Some of your symptoms sound similar to this little known and little understood condition. This may not relate to you, but I am writing this comment to hopefully make other users aware of this also.

Do you have a uterus that tilts backwards? I do.. Now my question is, Does your abdominal area look swollen? The area from close to the belly button and downwards. I feel like I always look bloated. I can work out to "tighten" that region but it doesn't help. I still look swollen and it sucks. I just wonder if their are others out there who deal with this and what helps? Any ideas ladies? I've thought of having surgery to reposition uterus and hope to reduce the swollen appearance. Thank you.

Over recent months I've noticed I've developed visibly swollen Ankles and sometimes even the feet have felt swollen too it can be uncomfortable and painful and my doctor told me it could be due to hot weather and standing up a lot but didn't examine my feet but did say if it got any worse to go back. Personally I'm concerned it is more serious as this is not what I'd consider mild swelling, diabetes is in the family and I have PCOS. I also feel stiffness in my lower legs along with the swollen ankles and would appreciate some advice.

I know how you feel Dee. I'm 16 and it's never fun having all that. I use to shave my arms. But people complained that there were poky when the hair grew back. Even if I nare my arms they come back dark. Don't worry, your not the only one. I was made fun of in elementary and that's when I found out that arm hairs are not cool. So many guys at my school don't have hairy arms or the hair is very blonde. But I swear that all see my arms and judge me.

I have had several Levulan treatments on my arms and legs. most with extra "soaking time" the only place that is kinda worked on was my lower arms and only after itching horribly, blistering and getting a light staff infection, which was horribly painful, did I notice a difference in the appearance of my arms. It did nothing for my lower legs and upper arms, after 3 treatments on each leg and upper arms. It may be a waste of money for you, esp if you don't have insurance that covers it.

I am 25 years lady my vagina is always itching an getting swollen lnside after every manstruation and the swollen goes away few days before another period
