Conditions with symptom: 'swollen knee'
I did PE and my knee now hurts i think i might have pulled a ligament or something. My knee has swollen and im in pain when i walk. Should i go to A&E and will i need crutches?
Hi i'm a 16 year old girl and about 2-3 years ago i had an accident in which i fell over and landed on a metal pole. It cut open my knee and had to have several stiches. When this accident happened i could not move my knee, when i tried to stand up it locked and that's when the blood started to come out. A few weeks later i had the stitches removed but my joint was still very inflamed and swollen and i was still on crutches. My knee now every now again sort of locks and it feels like something has popped out of place like a muscle, i rub the side of my knee where the pain is and it goes back into place. I'm still concerned as it has been 2-3 years since my accident and i still get a lot of pain.
hi. I was rushed into hospital in may 2012, with suspected septic arthritis in right knee. after examination at hospital, i was told it was celutlitus and was treated for it. Since then i am in constant knee pain which gets worse the more i use the knee. When the pain gets realy bad the knee area gets swollen and very red. This happens 2 or 3 times a week, which leaves me bed ridden for days. I have had xrays, mri scans, and blood tests and my doctor, hospital consultants and surgeons are at a loss of what it could be. All i have been prescribed is lots pain killers and physio which leaves me in pain after physio for up to 48 hrs or more. Is there any one out there that can help me.
Did they test you for Lyme disease? Please suggest it.
I'm 15 and have JRA(juvenile rheumatoid arthritis) and it effects my knee's and ankle's currently and they are swollen and i recive cortisone injection to reduce this, however my left wrist is painful sometimes and less flexiable than my right wrist although its not swollen, could this still be JRA?
I am 32 and still suffer from JRA. It is possible that it is in your wrist and u dont always get swelling, feel the wrist when it is painful and see if it is warmer than the other wrist this is often an indicator of inflammation in the joint. Hope this helps.PS see your GP
I occasionally suffer from pain in my right knee. My left knee is fine. It clicks and sometimes when I am in bed and when I move it feels like the bones are sliding back into place in my knee. Is there anything I can do to prevent further damage? I think I suffered from a fallen arch on my right leg years ago so this could be a factor to why the knee is weaker than the left.
I had total knee surgery 3months ago ..the knee is settling but the pain running from mid thigh to joint is unbearable..I'm allergic to strong meds .an Take paracetamol. My other knee is v bad too.I'm still seeing physios.
It may take more time than you think to regain all the muscle strength etc..Speak to the gp and see if this is a normal situation for this procedure.. Chronic pain, could possibly effect your mindset and yes, this will also effect how quickly you heal.. please consult your gp for the pain releif and advise of the type of physio and excersise you have been prescribed to do. (I changed physio, and found better result as a different tehnique was used)
Please can you help me? My right knee was burnt by burning plastic and badly scared When I was 7yrs old I fell at school, broken bolltes were in the unkept playground so my knee got badly cut. Hi, i am a 30 yr old male and have had a pain in my left knee for 18 months. I get pain under my knee cap after exercise and also when my leg is bent for a while. Also a small lump has formed on my knee cap, which is hard and hurts when i kneel down. Does anyone know what this is and what i can do to treat it, thanx.
I'm only 17 but i have a problem with my knee, ages 14 i was very active doing Trampolining and Latin dancing. but after a problem with my knee, that prevented me from walking properly for a number of weeks, it then meant that i had to give up. i now weigh 14 stone and have recently realised that my knee has progressed so i struggle to bend and pick up something heavy or in some cases bending and not being able to stand back up again. If i push my knee cap it can help. Please help it is a reacurring problem and im going to start a nursing course soon and im hoping this doesnt affect it.
