Hi I'm a 39 year old woman I've been having problems with my legs they get swollen and may seem like water retention I've been using different medication prescribed and have been to the gp and the hospital but all results come normal and the gps don't seem to know what is causing the swelling in my legs. Please if you could provide any answers will be appreciated Thankyou
I had the same problem after my 3rd child (2nd birth, twins 1st). I was 42, I was tested for everything from lupus to rheumatiod arthritis. Western medicine has no idea what it is (ideopathic). I found relief from acupuncture, supplements of horse chestnut and manjistha (an auyervedic lymph cleanse supplement and getting tested for food sensitivities had the biggest impact. I found I was sensitive to gluten, dairy, eggs, bananas and beef. I have cut out the food and had a tremendous improvement. Not totally resolved but much better on a day to day basis.
I have 2 lumps on my groin area, they have been there a couple months and have been to my doctors and they say its an infection from cuts on my legs but i dont have cuts on my legs and lately they have swollen up and got really painfull to even walk ? should i be worried ??
my mum has lymphoedema in her right arm and also in the bottom half of both legs, the skin stretches so much that it becomes hard and shiny, and feels as thought it is going to burst. also the colour at the bottom of her legs has changed so much, it is like a brown freckly look, sometimes she finds it hard out walking as her legs and ankles become so tender and swollen. her eye sight has also deteriorated dramatically, and she is finding it hard to cope. she has been to her gp and optitions but we feel that no one is listening to her. it all started after she received chemotherapy and radiotherapy for breast cancer. what options are available to her now. thank you

My husbands legs ( from knees to ankle) are swollen. He is in so much pain that sometimes it's unbearable pain. He's been seen by the doctors who keep giving him special socks to wear to reduce the swelling, which it does for a couple of hours but then the swelling returns when he walks. He can't walk for long, can't stand for long. He has been advised by the doctor that he needs to keep his legs elevated. This can be tough as he works in an office. He's struggling to sleep as he's in constant pain. The doctors have now told him to lose weight to see if that maybe the cause, but he's unable to exercise as the swelling returns. His legs have now been swollen for 3 weeks he's been to see the doctor again who have now said they will refer him to have X-rays. He is struggling a lot. We have a 2year old daughter and she's missing out on having fun with her daddy. His right calf has discoloured, it's like a dark purple colour again the doctors can't do anything for him. He's gaining weight as he can't walk for long, he can't sleep at night, to get through the night he eats to try to ignore the pain. It is now affecting our marriage. Can you please help us. PLease help my husband, he is only 33, when this problem started 4 years ago he was told the doctors can't do anything, he was advised to maybe have his legs amputated. That is not an option. Please can you help him and diagnose him. The doctors have said they will register him disabled So that we can get financials help as he's unable to work for long hours.

I've had a sore throat for about a week now, I took a look today and can see that my tonsils are very swollen (patchy red and white) with a few white spots on them. My glands are very swollen as well. My tonsils are gradually getting more swollen. However, I have no other symptoms of tonsillitis; Having had it a couple times in my childhood I know its not that.
You might have glandular fever
I have had lymphoedema in my lower legs and in both feet for about 12 years now which started when I was 6 years old. My feet are sometimes very painful and if I ever go abroad to a hot country my feet and legs are extremely painful and swollen and also sweat really badly. I have tried everything I can find such as bandages, acupuncture, massages, seperation socks, circulation pads & magnets and much more to help keep the fluid down. However I can never find anything that keeps the fluid down for more than a few hours. I really have no idea what to do about it anymore ... I really need help.
