My 9month son has a very swollen tongue. He has been to hospital with it and we have been told that its just the way its developed. Lately he has it sticking all of the time and also has lumps on his neck which the doctor says is just swollen lymph nodes. it is only one side that is swollen and the same side of his neck with the lumps. Could this be the same problem as the boy from the monday night programme? Who would i have to ask my doctor to refer me to?

Hi I've been suffering with slight swollen tonsils for about 2 weeks. With the occasional white gunk on them. Sometimes was able to get white stuff out of them but 2 lymphnods have swollen on my neck. Went to docs about it and he said its just a lymphnode and nothing to worry about. But recently when one of the nodes swells it makes my neck achy. Also have more whitr gunk on them than usual today. Should I go back or just ride it out?

For years now ive had permanently swollen tonsils and have been to the doctors numerous times. They checked for tonsillitis and glandular fever and both came back clear. Ive had swabs taken as well as given antibiotics etc and nothing has changed. The doctors have now put on my record that i have permanently swollen tonsils but aren't doing anything about it even though i struggle to eat, swallow tablets, at times struggle to breathe and find it very uncomfortable to sleep as i have to have my hand under my head as my neck is really sensitive to any pressure including clothing and jewellery.

I have a cyst on the side of my neck. I have had it for a couple of years but as it wasn't bothering me and not too big (1cm) it was left. Last weekend it started to swell and went red. It is now really sore and swollen-probably about 3cm now. Will it burst?

I ended up going to A&E as it was a Sunday and I couldn't move my neck but apparently they won't touch anything on a neck!! It did however, drain a bit that night which took some of the pressure away. My GP gave it a good squeeze, which hurt a lot, and got a good lot of gunk out. He recomended that I do the same at home and I'll be seeing him again this week. Feeling much better now and although still a bit red it is about the same size as it's always been. I certainly was not offered any anesthetic before hand- lol

go and see your gp he will send you to your local hospital and get it drained under a general i have had loads 19 in the last year and a very large skin grapht on the back of my neck due to these cyst,it will only get bigger and really sore.hope this helps you.

It can mean several things: 1) assuming you have a foreskin, it could mean that you have an infection under your foreskin. You need to keep the underside of your foreskin clean by washing regularly; 2) assuming you have a foreskin, it could mean that you haven't washed in a long time and lots of gunk has built up under your foreskin - not infection, necessarily, but just plain dirty gunk. Washing it should take care of it; 3) again, assuming you have a foreskin, it could mean that you've gotten the foreskin pulled back too far and it's acting like a rubber band now and chocking the glans (head). If this is the case, you need to get to an emergency room ASAP because this is dangerous.

My wife has severe pains in her neck she can barely turn her head she also has rhumatoid arthitis and osteoperosis she was prescribed morphine but this only made her condition worse her neck has now swollen and the swelling has moved round to the side of her neck and across to her shoulders X rays and scans and explanations from various doctors and specialists have left my wife in a servere state of pain all the medicines prescribed for her have only worsened her condition is there ane there who can actually recommend some positive treatment because my wifes sometimes feels like taking her own life because the pains are so intense and the quality of her life is confined to her bed she has had 3 heart attacks and my wife and i feel let down by an uncaring NHS system can you help please

I think you might you may of got carryed away your penis is not used to have sex it is a diffrent type of friction may want to slowly break your self into sex.

What you describe could be a case of paraphimosis. Please go on-line and research this word, look at the photos and see if this describes you. This is a potential serious problem that you may need a doctor's help. Your doctor may suggest circumcision as the answer, but it's not the only answer. A simple slit in your foreskin could also take care of it (which would give more room for stretching your foreskin over your glans).

I am 19 years old, and have been diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome, i have had it since i was 11, but it finally showed its true colours 8 years on, and i suffer from aches and pains in my wrists, neck, knees and knuckles. I also have swelling of the lips and eyes. however i dont tend to get the most common, dry eyes and dry mouth. I constantly get swollen neck glands which result in pain when eating or drinking =(. i feel i have control of it but im taking 7 tablets a day!! for the rest of my life. i wish someone could come up with a cure for this!

What can happen? In the most extreme cases, it can act like a rubber band tied around your head, totally cutting off blood circulation and, in effect, killing your glans. It MUST be treated, and if order to prevent it in the future, the doctor can cut a small slit in your foreskin (without removing any tissue) which will give a lot more room for the foreskin to move.

I have tried tying off askin tag with cotton thread as seen in your programme. That was 4 days ago. The skintag is now swollen and slightly painful and shows no sign if falling off. What should I do? The smaller one on the other side of my neck has turned black but is still there!

Hello my name is laura I'm 21, I've suffered with ezcema ever since I was little. For the past few months my eczema has flared up, but it's only around my neck and down both of my arms, however it's very swollen, bright red and it's appearance makes it looks like I have been scalded. Any ideas or help on what I can do? It gets very uncomfortable and sore. Thank you, Laura

Laura, if you like many others have applied topical steroid creams for a long period of time, or used other forms of steroid medication to treat your eczema, you may be suffering from what is now being termed 'topical steroid addiction'. Some of your symptoms sound similar to this little known and little understood condition. This may not relate to you, but I am writing this comment to hopefully make other users aware of this also.

A few years ago I sprayed perfume on my neck area which led to a skin reaction on the right side of my neck and now left a brown discolouration patch on my neck. After being prescribed various creams by the doctor nothing helped and I developed low self esteem and lack of confidence and have had to cover up by wearing a polo neck or scarf. I went on my first holiday with my partner but was unable to wear a bikini, swimsuit or anything that showed off my neck. I am light skinned, british of Ghanaian heritage. I would be interested to know if there is a laser treatment or waterproof camouflage makeup I can try as I don't want this issue to effect me for the rest of my life.
