hi i am 37 yrs old my left breast is constantly sore and has a tough tissue area. I have had this checked at a breast clinic about 5 yrs ago, they told me that this is nothing to worry about and that breast tissue is hard in women of my age. At present it is very painful and noticably larger than the other as I am nurse I am also aware that this too can be normal to have one breast slightly larger than the other. This time it seems considerably bigger and I can notice it in my bra and clothes the difference in size. Should I go back to my GP or am worrying over nothing.

i have a sore right breast which gets more tender throughout the day, and i noticed over the weekend(3days ago) that i also had small amount of discharge. I finished my period about a week ago so i know its not because of that and also knoow its not that i'm pregnant. on examining the breast the tissue feels alot firmer at the top of the breast than at the bottom but the whole breast aches and feels heavy?

I had implants under the muscle (800CC) 10 days ago. My breasts are very tight and sore which I believe is normal. But the left breast looks odd. It is as though the tissue up the top is soft, and below it is really hard, and I am worried I have got 'double bubble.' Is it too early to be upset? Will the breast soften so the whole breast will kind of blend in? I feel so down :(

Hi Sarah, please do not worry!! I am 25 with one child and have almost the opposite problem. Before pregnancy I had very large breasts that grew to a 34H whilst pregnant. After i finished breastfeeding, they went down to a DD but have slowly gone back up to an F cup over 6 years. My problem is that when I remove my bra, they droop horrifically and virtually hit my belly button. On top, my nipples now no longer face forward but most defiantely point south :( I also suffer from depression and severe body issues don't really help...but I'm hoping that by telling you about myself, you realise that you are not alone!! And although there is no magic bust increasing pills, perhaps talking about your feelings with someone might help? Remember you have 2 beautiful children that you wouldn't change and although it doesn't always feel worth it lol, deep down we know it most definately was!! If you are really suffering, please discuss your options with your doctor as I know counselling is available on the NHS and also....boob jobs. I wish you all the best. Chin up xxx

I am a twenty year old male. I am 6ft 4 and weigh 75kg. Every since I was a little boy I have always been really skinny, the older and taller I got I was even skinnier. I then turned 16 when I seemed to stop my growth spurts and my weight became more normal. Before my BMI was always underweight and now at age twenty I am a healthy weight for my height. However, since I was thirteen, no matter how skinny I was, I have always had a large amount of breast tissue. It made me self conscious as people would always notice when I was shirtless and I would always get teased for it. I am now twenty and I still seem to have a more breast tissue that useful. Any advice? I am yet to see a doctor because as yuo know it is embarrassing and I want to know if I have it or not before I visit one so I do not wait there time with an embarrassing question. Thank you.

Over a year ago I found a lump under my left nipple, I had it remover n September, but that armpit, part of the breast closest to the armpit and a mole next to my armpit are all very itchy, I'm not certain if the mole's itchy or jut the general area and so I just keep catchig it, but it's sore. In the itchy area of the breast the tissue has also thickened and become sore. Last week I saw my doctor about the mole only, he vaigly glanced at it at said it was fine, he sais he could refer me to get it removed but it wasn't needed in his oppinion. I'm wondering if he aught to have examined it closely/at all and being only 19 is the thickening in the breast tissue a worry at all?

hi, im 17 and two years ago i developed a lump in each breast in the upper part of the breast. i went to the doctors and he referrred me to the hospital to see a specialist where he said it was just thickened breast tissue and said it should even out over a couple of years. a couple of years later and theyre still there, i went to the doctors back in september and he said it was nothing to worry about. they get harder nearer my period and go down at other times. they are sometimes a little bit achy, should i be concerned that they may develop onto something worse?

My local NHS PCT will only consider a breast reduction if you have a normal BMI. It disregards the physical damage to the spine and body caused by 40 years of J-L breasts, which are now about 12 inches long, foldable, and occasionally tear internally when turning over in bed. This is in addition to bra strap valleys on the shoulders and thickened/calloused tissue on the rib cage from the pressure from bras.

Having 'loose' breasts isn't bad, it's very normal, no one can tell when you wear a bra , and I don't think your husband will mind. As for the armpit breast tissue that may be due to bra cups being too small. If all of your breast cannot be contained and the wires sit slightly on your breasts then it is very common for some of the tissue to 'migrate' to your armpits. Next time you put on your bra, reach inside the cups and scoop all the way around to be sure all the breast, and armpit tissue, is secured in the cups. If this doesn't seem possible then try a bigger cup. The tissue can and will move back up over time.

I have a couple of questions about the breast lift: 1. In the breast lift operation featured on this page the surgeon re-formed/molded the breast tissue with stitches. Do these stitches remain inside the breast? Do they dissolve and absorb into the body? 2. Also, My breast often swell a whole lot when I'm about to start my period. The swelling is usually very painful, produces a lot of heat, and creates a dramatic size/shape change. I don't enjoy this swelling as is, but I'm worried that if I did get a breast lift my breast would swell and then the breast tissue would be too wadded up to properly drain. What kind of complications do women usually have with this kind of surgery?

I'm 17 in a couple of months and I am, honestly, barely big enough to fit into a bra cup of A! This really bothers me, because nothing at all works! a push up bra does absolutely nothing in aid and it makes me really unhappy! Is there anything I can do (except surgery) which will naturally enhance my breast size? Thank you

dont worry that means there growing i had it too!

I am a 28yr old man. This last week I have had a painful lump in my right nipple/breast, there is some redness and the top of the niplpe feels thickened. It is painful. We do have a family history of breast cancer in my family. How long should I wait to have this checked. I'm thinking a cyst or trauma but in the back of my mind could it be cancer?

speak to a docter but i think they can do someing to help ok

I am a 2o year old boy and have had man boobs since I was 12. I told my GP and got a surgery for only one side of my boobs as it was bigger than the other. The surgeon only removed breast tissue and not the remaining tissue/fluid that makes up the breast so the problem is still there. I am now going to start to work out as I think this will help so I think that will be a boost to some people with man boobs that surgery isn't the only cure

I'm currently giving my 8mo baby EBM as she refused to breast feed from the start, however I have found whilst massaging during expressing some toughened tissue in one breast. Will breast milk affect a breast examination and is it possible I have done some damage by expressing for over 8 months?

you increase the letter as your breasts get larger, so yes you would go from a 32b to a 32c. this is only for your breast tissue though and if your rib cage area increases in size/width then you would go from a 32 to a 34. if your breast tissue increases and your rib cage stays the same, you go from a 32b to a 32c. if your rib cage increases as well as your breasts getting bigger, you would go from a 32b to a 34b - yes 34B. A good place to usually get your bra measured is Marks and Spencer. Don't worry - they've seen it all before and can explain it more

Dear Kelly I was so sad to read your comment. I'm 25 and have literally no breast tissue at all and tubular breasts, where my nipples are very large and there's nothing behind them. I originally went to transform and they refused to operate on me as this is a NHS issue, a deformity. She explained that i would struggle to breastfeed and be in pain if I was ever to go full term pregnancy. I then went to my doctor and explained and they referred me straight away, I'm now due to get my operation in a few weeks. Although they have refused to give me a breast enlargement as it complicates the procedure, the breast tissue has to settle for -12 months first but at least it's a step. I will probably pay for enlargement myself as it will be difficult on the NHS. I suggest you go to your doctor and dont take no for an answer. I wish you the best of luck and hope you read this x

Hi my name is Nicky, i am 42 yrs old and have virtually no breast tissue in my right breast and a little in my left. I have always been like this and long to feel womenly while i still can. i have had 5 children but didn't have to buy bigger bras. I did breast feed three of them for varied lenghts of time, so i should be gratefull for that. Please can you help as i can't afford the prices for cosmetic surgery.

In an ordinary breast surgery they need to cut the tissue in few places and totally reposition the nipple, and this is something that I really don't want. However I've heard that breast reduction can also be done by lipossuction and there is no need to repossition the nipple. It is safe and how many sizes breast can be reduced? Can it be done on NHS?
