I am 24 and have had a painful jaw for 2 years now. I have been told it is due to clenching but the pain I experience is not consistent with this. I can't open my mouth very wide and it is painful to eat. It is severely affecting my life and is leaving me in awful pain every day. The consultant at my local hospital isn't listening to me and I'm desperate to get help. What can I do?

This sounds very much like my symptoms, I had two large babies a couple of years apart and after the second birth when I tried to do the pelvic floor exercises I couldn't feel a thing, I more or less gave up with them. A year on and I noticed a small red ball protruding at the back end of my vagina, I could feel it when wiping myself and could sort of push it back in. I also would leak wee and often feel an urgency like I was going to wet myself. I went to the dr who said it was a vaginal prolapse and the red ball was my bladder. I got referred to a gynaecologist who said operating was an option but as so young to have this complaint (35) they'd like to try some special physio first. I ended up having 6 months of gynae physio where I was taught to do the pelvic floor exercises properly (I'd been doing them incorrectly anyway!!) and learnt about how to change the habits of my bladder and have had to stop doing some exercises like running and any abdominal exercise which in turn have all helped. I'm still working on strengthening my pelvic floor but don't have now what's considered a prolapse so no more physio. The waiting list on the NHS for my area was 18 months, I enquired about private treatment and after the gynaecologist consultation the physio was £40 per session, it cost in total about £450. If you can afford it it's worth looking into. Hope this is of help, definitely speak to your gp and find out what options and help are available x

My tongue is really sore and so are my gums. I went to the dentist and I don't have gum disease or anything like that. My tongue is a bit red with little tiny white bumps and when I brush my tongue it bleeds. I sleep with a mouth guard on my bottom teeth to prevent damage when clenching so could that be why my bottom gums hurt?? Please help..

I'm 22 years old, have one child through vaginal birth. When my husband arrived we have a rough sex and insert some dildo on my vagina. After that I felt something wrong and it hurts...A month from now since we have that rough sex, yesterday I've notice when I went to the bathroom and wash mine, there's something pea-like size just below my vaginal opening. It only hurts when I put pressure on it. The color was just the color of my skin-tone, no vaginal discharge, no foul odor and no history of vaginal problems. I'm wondering what is this? I also tried massaging & having sitz bath, but nothings change! I went to the doctor this morning but they are all in holiday'vacation no check'up! Any answer would be appreciated! Thanks!

Do specific vaginal products such as feminine wash, sprays, wipes and powder affect the pH balance of the vaginal area? I use femfresh wash and spray but after watching an episode regarding washing the vaginal area, I wanted to check if such products are safe to use. They do state they are gynaecologist tested and approved.

I have a prolapse of the front vaginal wall. The effects are not distressing. I have some mild urinary incontinence caused by a weakened pelvic floor after having 4 kids. If I keep up the exercises then the leakage is minimised to when I have a full bladder and cough/jump on a trampoline. The prolapse does not cause me discomfort and sex is still good for me and my husband. I am overweight, almost obese and I know losing weight would be good for both the mild incontinence and prolapse. I would like to avoid surgery for as long as possible. It is not convenient at this time in my life nor are the symptoms that bad. Does anyone have any experience of using vaginal weights or vaginal electro exercisers and how effective they are? Are they approriate for some-one with vaginal prolapse? Where do I find a reputable supplier?

Try replens or sylk - both vaginal moisturises. The vaginal skin thins a lot as you approach the menopause, and these can often help prevent soreness and tears

Hi I think I may have a type of vaginal fungus. Above my clit and around the inside of the outer vaginal lips it looks like white skin that peels off when i wash. I don`t seem to have any discharge though. Could it be Thrush? How can I treat it?

If you don't have any itching, or redness of the vagina, chances are you are allergic to something you are using. The most common things that cause this are soap, body wash, laundry powder/detergent, and toilet paper. I was suffering from this for about 3 months, and I tried thrush treatments, antibacterial creams etc, and I finally found out that the toilet paper I was using was reacting with my skin. There is obviously a chance that you do have something else and if you rule out all possible allergens go see your doctor again.

Hello, I suffer with teeth grinding and clenching. I recently visited the dentist and said I was getting pain on my left side and he checked and said he can't see anything but it might be because of clenching. When I have visited before in the past he asked me if I grind my teeth but I assumed I do. Also i have a uneven bite wear all my top teeth rest on my right side bottom back tooth. I'm just unsure what to do as I get Alot of pain and just wish there was a way of correcting it so I had straight in line teeth :-)

I always thought I was the only person with this problem. I am now 23 and lost my virginity aged 17 and stayed with my partner for 2 years. Every time hurt like hell and in the end he finished with me and Doctors kept fobbing me off. After 6 years of suffering and having no sex life and being too afraid to even date guys, I went to a different surgery and saw a psycho therapist. I'm not cured but things are better, she encouraged me to start by inserting a finger and clenching and un clenching my PC muscles. Through doing this I realised how much my muscles tensed and was able to relax and now I can insert two fingers totally pain free - it's a long hard process, but don't give up and please speak to a Dr or therapist, don't let anyone fob you off.

I am 47 and have been suffering most of my adult life with headaches and often wake up with a migraine. I discovered my problem is caused by clenching jaws and grinding teeth (more so at night). I've tried mouth guards at night (although they protected my teeth, they didn't stop the headaches & I chew more). I had botox injections into jaw joint (v painful but helpful for 3 months.... only temporary). I had a breast reduction 2 years ago as I thought the weight of my breasts was causing neck tension resulting in headaches. Although happy I had it done, 2 years on, I'm still suffering so I'm more sure than ever, my problem is jaw clenching. I'm a very positive person and I'd love to know what I can do to help myself. I find having constant headaches, debilitating and have impacted on my everyday life and am also at my wits end.

To you and everyone on here, I hate how this is called a dysfunction. Women are different and the minority that have many orgasms during sex are making us feel bad! Some of us might learn over time or with a different partner and eventually experience orgasms more easily with a partner. But you know what, some of us won't even learn eventually, and that does not make us unhealthy or incorrect, or wrong. I personally originally achieved orgasm through clitoral stimulation without a vibrator. Since I started using a g spot vibrator to masturbate, I've been more aware of the sensations during sex. At first I was even too shy to touch myself during sex, and like you I felt kind of numb. I can now orgasm during sex if I help myself, but it makes me feel a bit detached from my boyfriend because it makes me focus on the feelings inside myself instead of the fact that he is there sharing something with me. Anyway though, it's just part of a journey. Try new things, and explore with your partner. If your partner gets more pleasure than you, tell them that you'd like to learn to get more pleasure from sex because it doesn't come naturally to you, pun unintended. Have they used a clitoral vibrator with you during intercourse? People always say that feeling the need to pee is a good thing and it means you're close, try clenching your inner muscles at that point. The bottom line is that vaginal orgasms are way difficult to achieve for some women. If you haven't already, try combining vaginal and clitoral stimulation and slowly over months increase the vaginal and decrease the clitoral.

I gave birth to my baby 5 months ago and since then during sex i pass wind, its really embarrassing and makes me feel highly unatractive i try to hold it by clenching but its uncomfortable

It is due to clenching I have the same thing and went to my dentist because I was also having tooth ache. She gave me a mouth guard and it has helped. It is caused by stress. I would go to the dentist.

Ive suffered for as many years as i can remember with teeth. Im 36 years old and i wish my parents had been as thorough as i have with my children who both have braces and will never have to deal with what i do daily. I first remember pain when i was young and would 'suck in' my mouth. Its so tight that when i wake in the morning i could cry from the pain in my jaw, the ache of my teeth which are constantly soft in the gum and will move just by gentle touch, the constant headaches, and the blisters and sores on my tongue from it being sucked in. Clenching! Dont even start me on clenching my jaw! The definition in my facial muscles is embarrasing and so is the fact that my lower jaw is pertruding, which in turn is giving me a 'full moon'effect of my chin, this in turn causes sweat to build in my chin, and horrendous spots.... I know we all have issues with our teeth, but ive been to see dentists, NHS orthodontists and even many private practices, and each tell me something different. Im scared that one is better than another, one tells me not to have anything done till i do this, another tells me i have to have surgery on my jaw because of my bite. The cost is ridiculous. But saying that, i would pay every day for the rest of my life just to have one picture with my children where i can smile from 'ear to ear!' I work for the health sector and make a massive difference to peoples lives every day, all i want is for a smile. A smile that is real, not painful, and that im proud of. Ive even considered rippring out my teeth with pliers when im at my lowest and then surely i could have false teeth, any thing is better than this....

It's worse when there is stres and it hurts! - a lot!

I got a night guard from my dentist recently and it cost me €90! It did stop the damage my grinding and clenching was doing to my teeth but I still get headaches from the tension. I dont know if you can get it on a medical card. I dont have one but I know it wasnt covered at all on my health or dental insurance.

Yes, I had this same problem and it may be that you're just clenching your muscles without realising. It sounds silly but I'd advising trying penetration bit by bit slowly a couple of times. Then, just let penetration happen regardless, if you can. It hurts the first few times but it gets better & better. I still clench, especially if I haven't had sex in a while. But once you get started, it will all get easier.

There could be several reasons why this tooth keeps breaking down - from biting heavily on it, grinding and clenching, a filling that is to high,.. to natural errors in the way the teeth come together (occlude). It is rare to achieve lightening of teeth more than a couple of minor shades with over the counter preparations. Your dentist can advise you better.

I am not the biggest (as you see in porn)around 6inches erect. I am co rodent with my size and past experiences seem to indicate this is satisfactory for the women. However, I was circumcised at a young age and I find stimulation is getting harder. I am now at a stage where only if the woman is having an orgasm and clenching internally, oral or tight hand jobs can make me cum. What could I do to feel more intense feeling?

You maybe could try to stretch your foreskin so it gets longer again. If this doesn't work, you could apply cream onto your glans and wrap it up with clingfilm or something similar.

Dorothy I used to get double vision - it has to do with the injection site on the outer area of the lid - they usually do 3 spots there - I had them discontinue the middle shot and reduce the other 2 and it stopped but I do have increased clenching - so when I go for my next injections they will increase the upper and lower 2 spots and still not do the middle one in the hopes that helps.

I'm 55 years old and have been diagnosed with grade 2 vaginal prolapse. On watching the video related to this the patient had her vaginal walls tightened with complete success. I realise the patient was younger than me but I can't understand why my gynaecologist has recommended a vaginal hysterectomy. If I have to have this done, will I find sex interesting again?

Unfortunately a symptom of BV is a fishy/ offensive odour, due to overgrowth of bacteria that replace normal vaginal bacteria. It is the most common cause of vaginal discharge and unfortunately there is a high level of reoccurrence. You could try and use just water to wash as some non fragrance soaps can still contain strong chemicals that can alter the PH of the vagina. If you found that the antibiotics didn’t work you could try a lactic acid gel, make sure you follow the directions for use. If you haven’t already done so it is important that you get a High vaginal swab to rule out any other vaginal infection. But if it comes back negative it does not mean you don’t have BV.

I have this, my dentist says its because I clench my teeth while I sleep. If you look at the inside of your cheek you might find you have a small raised white ridge - again a sign of clenching your teeth. Apparently its often a sigh of stress, I have gum sheilds which I am supposed to wear at night until I break the habit. I'd go see the dentist if I were you because you can do real damage to your teeth.

Dear sir I have have very, very lose stools in fact I can identify what I have eaten that day. I find myself out walking when all of a sudden I need a toilet this can be extremly difficult to explain why I have stopped walking and I am now clenching my bottom together to prevent me having to change my pants I go on average three times a day, and they are extremly smelly and most times are green.
