I have had sex only twice my whole life and yes safe sex. But the thing is I have like vaginal discharge. The first time I lost my virginity I started having vaginal discharge after a couple if days. And I consulted my doctor and he gave me a pill I took once and the discharged stop. And now its begun again after I had sex but I'm scared to go to the doctors. Do you have any idea whats happening? Thanks and I've stopped having sex but I did use contraceptions on both occasions.

is it thrush? dont be scared to go to the doctors - thats what they're there for after all! if the pill worked last time then im pretty sure it'll work again. ask the doctor what you have this time round and if its thrush you can easily buy the pill from the chemist next time.

I am 53 menopausal woman. For the past 5 months I have been experiencing odorless yellowish-green vaginal discharge. It is not every day, maybe 4x a month I will get a stain on my cotton panty liners. I have been on Dalacin 2x and within a month the discharge returns. I have gone 4x for testing of Chlamydia DNA (Probe), N. Gonorrhoae DNA (Probe), Trichomonas vaginalis antigen test, vaginal culture, Group B Streptococcus, Vaginal Initial Smear (Yeast, BV) all NEGATIVE. I am now waiting to see a gynecologist for further follow-up. In your expert opinion would you have idea what this might be? Sincerely, Janelle

It sounds like your body is just doing what it's supposed to do. The vagina produces lubrication during sex, and that's what you're seeing. A white or creamy color is totally normal. There's nothing to be embarrassed about - it's usually a big turn on for a guy to see that during sex, so I don't think you should stress about it at all!

I feel as though I have to much vaginal discharge. I have recently seen a gynaecologyst in relation to something else. He did agree that I have a lot of discharge and took some swobs but nothing appeared wrong. Is there anyway to stop the amount of discharge you get?

Dont worry, everyone has that after their period. It's just gettin rid of the left over blood

I am 17 years old and I have this totally normal vaginal discharge but there is one thing that bothers me and I want to get rid of this. I am constantly thinking the day I'm going to have sex for the first time and I don't want my future husband too see my genitals with this off-white discharge nor my panties stained with dried discharge.

Now, I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure there's no getting rid of, or stopping, vaginal discharge - it's a completely natural process. In saying this, if your partner is put off by the discharge (or finds it disgusting etc) he clearly isn't mature enough to be having sex with you in the first place. Vaginas (and the discharge that comes with them) are not baby smooth and smell like peaches. The best I can say is keep your vaginal area nice and clean with water.

The wearing of a pad isn't a problem but why don't you get the discharge checked out? It could be bacterial vaginosis, the commonest cause of vaginal discharge which is easily treated. There is a lot of info on various causes of vaginal discharge on this site: http://www.pregnancy-bliss.co.uk/vaginal_discharge.html I would certainly advise that you have a look.

your body takes care of you. don't overwash, don't use hypersoap to wash away. that will just increase the problem. i am allergic to syntethics, and i couldn't use tampons. neither popular brands, because they were 'laced' with something, and also the thread was synthetic. i know towels aren't popular, but would you not change your pad 3 times a day, rather than have something that can cause discharge. i have tried this on and off for 40 years.

I have had vaginal discharge for about 2 years, I have been told by the doctors that I had thrush and it didn't work so I went to the std clinic and they said I have bacterial vibrosis. It's so embarrassing as I'm only 17, it all went and about 7 months ago it all come back I get so wet with vaginal discharge, it doesn't smell, kinda has a metal smell to it. When I have sex with my boyfriend, my discharge goes everywhere. It dries out and leaves a flakey white thing on us. Every time I go to the doctors they say its my normal discharge but I know it's so not. Please can someone answer my question. It's getting me down and I need a diagnosis incase it's something to worry about

I'm nearly 300 and its always been like this. Doctors have been no help. It's so embarrassing, I can't have a normal sex life- oral sex is a no no and vaginal sex is not enjoyable because of the amount of discharge. Can anyone help?

I'm 15 and I've been having vaginal discharge for a long time now. But I haven't told my mum. Vaginal discharge does mean that you are going to have your period soon.

I have had vaginal discharge for at least 4 years, it started happening a long time before I started my period when I was 13 and I'm now 15 and I have been using pantyliners ever since. I can't tell if it's thrush or just vaginal discharge, because it has never been sore or itchy, I have had a spot above my labia only once or twice, and sometimes the discharge is really thick but usually it is just like a small drip. It's clear or sometimes pale yellow and it does smell. I get really embarrassed because when my boyfriend wants to masturbate for me I just have to hope he doesn't realise! Does it last until menopause or can it get treated?

Brown Discharge is one of common concerns of girls and women. Not all cases of brown vaginal discharge are cause for concern. Brown vaginal discharge is most often associated with old endometrial tissues. Once you start puberty a white and/or clear discharge is normal. The vagina is self-cleaning. This same discharge increases the closer you get to ovulation and when you are sexually aroused. You can have this normal discharge for weeks, months or even years before getting your first period. It will also continue after you get your period. >> Sometimes you can have few times brown discharge before your first period. >>>Your first period can look like this also. If your period is late you might get a brown, rather than red, discharge. It could also mean that for whatever reason during your last menses the entire uterine lining failed to make a timely exit. Brown Discharge may happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown. This may occur when you are ovulating in the middle of menstrual cycle.

Im 13 now, but have had vaginal discharge which is white and sometimes fishy and like jelly for over 2 years now but still haven't started my period. I read somewhere that when u start getting vaginal discharge its a sign of starting ur period but nothings happened yet ?? Help ?!

I've been having a vaginal discharge everyday for about 2 weeks now. It shows on my knickers and is thick and creamy and yellowish in colour. It also has a musty smell. I had vaginal thrush about a month and a half ago and it cleared up but right after the treatment, that's when the discharge began. I started my periods 4 years ago so I'm pretty sure that its not the same thing as starting your periods. Normally my discharge is transparent but now when I get aroused, it shows to be white/yellow. What shall I do?!

Yes its completely normal, im 13 too and I am experience vaginal discharge, I began also when I was 12 and it can be uncomfortable but I find wearing panty liners throughout the day decreases the irritaion,if you haven't began your period then that is why you are having discharge hope this helps Chloe

I am the same age as you and I have been having the same thing happening to me since I was 11, I have been trying to cope with it but it gets easier with time. Just try all your options to deal with it and use the one that works best; some girls wear pantie liners an some just change their underwear a few times per day. Good luck, and I hope I helped.

Hiya, Im 18 year old. I get vaginal discharge. Sometimes its a lot and i can feel it in my pants and sometimes its only a little tiny bit. I thought it might have been caused by having sex but i only had sex with my boyfriend so at college when they were handing out free STI packs i did one and thankfully it came back negative. After reading all of the comments above i realised that vaginal discharge is normal. But if anybody has any concerns go to the doctor and ask for a test. Its the safest thing to do :D

Hi. I'm 18 years old. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex about three weeks ago. I was a virgin before. About a week later, I had a lot of symptoms of a yeast infection. I had vaginal discharge much like cottage cheese and it was very itchy down there. Three nights ago, we had unprotected sex again, and the next day not only was I still having the vaginal discharge and the itchiness down there but also I have been having chronic itchiness all over my body with no rash. Do you know what this could be from?
