I have a prolapse of the front vaginal wall. The effects are not distressing. I have some mild urinary incontinence caused by a weakened pelvic floor after having 4 kids. If I keep up the exercises then the leakage is minimised to when I have a full bladder and cough/jump on a trampoline. The prolapse does not cause me discomfort and sex is still good for me and my husband. I am overweight, almost obese and I know losing weight would be good for both the mild incontinence and prolapse. I would like to avoid surgery for as long as possible. It is not convenient at this time in my life nor are the symptoms that bad. Does anyone have any experience of using vaginal weights or vaginal electro exercisers and how effective they are? Are they approriate for some-one with vaginal prolapse? Where do I find a reputable supplier?

hi i have a bladder prolapse and have stated to use kegel8 electric impulse machine as i found doing pelvic floor exercises difficult. i have also started to do posture exercises from a vidio by katie bowman in america and have found these helpful it is still early days but i am hoping i will be able to manage with out an opperation i am not sure about sex as my partner left when he found out i had a prolapse.

I am a 32 year female old virgin, and happy to remain so until I marry the right guy. ;) After each period when the bleeding stops, I frequently experience vaginal and labial dryness and discomfort. I have been to my GP and we have ruled out any yeast/bacterial infection. I'm just a bit dry after my periods. I am looking for a non-hormonal vaginal/labial moisturiser. K-Y jelly etc are ok but being water based they need frequent reapplication. Some brands I've found contain tea tree oil. In my experience tea tree oil is very potent stuff! Is it suitable and safe to use in intimate areas? Can you recommend any brands of longer lasting and soothing vaginal moisturisers?

The dryness could be down to lack of estrogen after your period. I'm not sure about lubricants etc but after a little bit of research there are some foods that can help naturally boost your estrogen levels. They are: apples, alfalfa, barley, baker's yeast, beets, cherries, chickpeas, carrots, celery, cucumbers, dates, fennel, oats, olives and olive oil, papaya, peas, plums, pomegranates, potatoes, beans, rhubarb, rice, tomatoes, wheat and yams. Seeds such as sesame seeds, flaxseed and sunflower seeds also help to boost levels of this hormone in the body.

Vaginas come in many different shapes and sizes so don't be worried. However, if its causing you discomfort you should talk to your mom or go to the doctor. Hope this helps!

I am 15 and really un confident about my vaginal area. My right labia is a lot bigger than my left. It causes a lot of discomfort when I am on my period and tends to rub against my knickers causing irritation. I went to see a doctor and she said a lot of people have it, but I have started to notice mucus like discharge. I really want surgery but i'm worried it will be very painful, any advice?

I have a vaginal prolapse and prolapsed uterus. I am 74 and my doctor says I am very fit for an operation, but I don't want one. She has put in a ring pessary which is very effective and there is no discomfort. She says I cannot change it myself but I have seen on the internet and heard that you can do this. Why wont she let me do it and show me how, it would save at least some visits to the doctor which I will find unpleasant. Should I see another doctor?

I have had my second ring pessary fitted recently. There is no discomfort in having one removed and another fitted, surprisingly quick. It seems to be working very well. The only thing I find is when I am feeling ready to pass a stool, it feels like the bowel is lower. I mentioned this to the doctor who said it is normal, and once you have been to the toilet all returns to normal.

I had a pessary for years and found it most successful. Had a go removing it once - impossible - guess you can't relax enought.

I have just recently found a pea sized lump on my inner vaginal lip (labia) I am sexually active but the lump doesn't hurt unless touched and even than its only a slight discomfort, it's under the skin and has no redness nor any other area is affected! I have a dr app on Friday just worried and would like to get other advice on what it could be? All answers will be helpful, thank you

Us ladies are prone to getting all sorts of lumps and bumps all over us. I really wouldn't worry as it sounds like nothing. As it is under the skin it doesn't sound like anything that could be sexually transmitted but I still recommend you use condoms unless yourself and your partner have been checked out. Still go to see your GP to be 100$ certain, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

I'm 25 and I have excessive vaginal discharge. I am always wet it goes straight through my underwear and it feels like I wet myself through my pants. There's no discomfort and it smells like my natural sent nothing out of the ordinary. Its a clear or whit color. But sometimes if I'm not wearing any underwear in the house it drips down my legs and I actually cum. It looks like I just came from having sex. When I wipe its cum. Its getting really annoying and I keep having to change clothes. During sex is the same thing I get so wet and there's always a puddle when we are done. My guy has not said anything about it but I know it bothers me. Could somebody help

Mine is causing me a lot of discomfort, infections, rubbing on clothing. Wore thongs for 10 years and then in my early 20's they became too uncomfortable to wear as my vaginal area seemed to swell and become prone to infection, yeast infections, UTI infections, bacterial vaginosis infections and discomfort and intercourse has become impossible. Periods pretty much stoped, doctor couldn't tell if it was PCOS or not, wouldn't diagnose vaginismus either. I am 22 years old now. Cannot have sex, don't have periods and have a very dry (too small vagina) and large vaginal lips. Doctors won't do as anything to help me.

Thank you Maria, your story was very helpful to me as I continuously get bladder infections and I think I have one now. Painful weeing, urgency in urination as I have no warning signs that I have to wee until it is about to come out. I am drink plenty of water and cranberry juice but I'm not on antibiotics. With antibiotics I get vaginal thrush so I not only have discomfort with the wee issue but add thrush discomfort on top of it. I will be adding yogurt to my daily diet.

Restoring vaginal elasticity is possible with a vaginal rejuvenation gel. What you need to do when it comes to how to restore vaginal elasticity is look for a cream or gel that contains only natural ingredients. The reason for this is that many of the vaginal tightening products on the market contain dyes and perfumes which often contain alcohol which is known to dry out the skin—ultimately leading to more dryness that can work against restoring elasticity. Also, a gel like this works far better than simply adding some personal lubricant to your sex life because it offers more than just a temporary fix. It works by increasing the blood flow to the vagina so that sexual pleasure is heightened which causes your body to naturally produce lubrication. Applying it regularly keeps your vagina naturally moist all the time so that your elasticity returns and discomfort in and out of the bedroom improves.

I'm 16 and still a virgin. However i finger myself and have oral sex regularly. i use vibrators now and again but always make sure everything is clean. Recently i've looked in the mirror to find my vulva to be very red. It is quite sore and itchy as well. I go to the gynaecologist regularly as i had an operation on my ovary two years ago, and everything appears to be healthy and fine, but i've got no idea what it is, does anyone know? Also, I would recommend to anyone with vaginal discomfort to use sudocrem around the vaginal area, I've found it to be very soothing.

I'm 37 with 2 children, one traumatic vaginal birth and one elective c-section, I now have vaginal prolapse of my uterus, bowel and bladder it is thee most distressing thing that has happened to me. I hardly leave my home anymore because of the discomfort and pain this brings, I feel disgusting and will not let my husband touch me and am thoroughly depressed. I just want to be fixed and get my life back but so far the hospital will not agree to do it. I feel like my life is over.

the vaginal lips can be all shapes and sizes! this sounds very normal, don't worry. if they're causing you pain or a lot of discomfort, don't hesitate to talk to your doctor, even if it's just to set your mind at ease.

I am 22 and i am in a long term relationship with my boyfriend. We have been together for over 3years and have only had sex twice since been together. I find it hard to get turned on and i also seem to suffer from Vaginal Dryness alot even when i'm not during 4play or sexual contact! I also seem to suffer from Thrush also which has been treated for but keeps reappearing. Its a real pain as my boyfriend feels i don't like having sexual contact with him! i'm so dry during sexual intercourse it makes me feel sick and i tend to be in so much discomfort i end up in tears. My discomfort during sex is putting me off altogether and i cringe even when my boyfriend touches me sensually! Please Please help as i'm scared that its ruining my relationship!

Im 13 and am quite worried about my vaginal area because i have this loop of skin near the vagina opening which you can fit your finger through, when i use tampons its ok to put in but then when taking it out it causes problems because it often gets stuck around the tampon, it doesn't cause discomfort unless stretched, does everyone have this?

Hey there, i'm not 100% sure but it sounds like you're taking about your hymen. Basically, a hymen is a thin covering over the vagina which is broken/stretched when you have sex (lots of girls break it before then though so don't worry). If it's causing you a lot of hassle, or you're really worried about this, maybe you could talk to your mum and arrange an appointment to see a doctor? They might be able to remove it if it's getting in the way. Hope you're okay!
