I am 17 and suffer from vaginal dryness :S I also can't get wet before sex. I often get thrush because of the lack of "friendly bacteria" down there due to the dryness. Sometimes when it is really bad it hurts when my jeans rub off it :( I use "replens" and it helps temporarily but it's embarrassing going in and buying it all the time. I now have to sneak into the bathroom and apply lube before sex otherwise it's impossible for it to take place. I was just wondering if there was a cure?

I am a 32 year female old virgin, and happy to remain so until I marry the right guy. ;) After each period when the bleeding stops, I frequently experience vaginal and labial dryness and discomfort. I have been to my GP and we have ruled out any yeast/bacterial infection. I'm just a bit dry after my periods. I am looking for a non-hormonal vaginal/labial moisturiser. K-Y jelly etc are ok but being water based they need frequent reapplication. Some brands I've found contain tea tree oil. In my experience tea tree oil is very potent stuff! Is it suitable and safe to use in intimate areas? Can you recommend any brands of longer lasting and soothing vaginal moisturisers?

The dryness could be down to lack of estrogen after your period. I'm not sure about lubricants etc but after a little bit of research there are some foods that can help naturally boost your estrogen levels. They are: apples, alfalfa, barley, baker's yeast, beets, cherries, chickpeas, carrots, celery, cucumbers, dates, fennel, oats, olives and olive oil, papaya, peas, plums, pomegranates, potatoes, beans, rhubarb, rice, tomatoes, wheat and yams. Seeds such as sesame seeds, flaxseed and sunflower seeds also help to boost levels of this hormone in the body.

Hello. I am a single 48-year-old woman, never married no kids. I was dxd with chronic autoimmune the affect the CNS. Current stressors have led to me forgetting to remove tampons...two during two different cycles. The first time the foreign object was extracted, I was give antibiotics and all was normal. The second time? An odor along with vaginal dryness persisted after the extraction. With no significant other, pleasuring myself is one of the few endorphins I can actively engage in. I am currently on antibiotics and dry a a bone. Should I be worried about my vaginal health?

I'm 21 and have had a very healthy sex life for 3 years but in the last couple of weeks have had problems with vaginal dryness even though I feel aroused. I wouldn't say I'm particularly stressed at the moment so is it likely to indicate a physical problem? If so, what could have come on so suddenly?

I am 20 years old and have been experiencing vaginal dryness for a little over a year now ever since I switched from the pill to the nuvaring. I find this weird because my doctor told me that the exact oposite should happen when you are using the nuvaring. We have tried lube and it works for a while but we have to reapply it often. I have had the nuvaring out now for a little over a week and was planning on switching to something else. The first night it was out we had no issues with dryness but now agian I am dry. I thought that my dryness was because of the nuvaring now I'm not so sure. I dont take any other medications, what else could cause this? Please help!

I have got a case of vaginal dryness. Me and my partner are trying for a baby and have been for 6 months now. I have searched on the internet and have found that having vaginal dryness makes it a lot lot harder for you to conceive. I'm really worried and would like to know how i can sort this out? I've found a lubricant online that is supposed to be friendly for sperm and also helps make sex more comfortable and enoyable but i'm a bit sceptical about buying products on the internet. We want a family so bad and we are both worried that it will never happen. Please help us!!!

OMG what a nightmare back & forward to my drs one cream after another nothing worked sex was painful leaving me with little tears which were very painful, magazines ect only say vaginal dryness is a symptom of the menopause but they never tell you what to do about it except using lube well that is not enough it does not stop the cuts & pain & depression when you cant have sex with your husband it is a much bigger subject and problem that is never discussed properly i have now been given vagifem tablets to insert everyday for 2 weeks and cream then twice a week for 4 months by a gyncologist she says i have vaginal atrophy will this work who knows only on week 3 but will be shouting from the roof tops if it does watch this space lol

Hi I have the same problem I am 56 years I have tried all creams and the Vagifem tablets been to see a specials female doctor that deals in all kinds of sexual problem but she can not find anything wrong so i went on line and found a cream called yes it is suppose to be amazing but i'm afraid it did nothing for me still very painful when having sex I have never had children and went into the menopause when i was 40 and with in two years sex started to hurt so so sore I used to have a great sex life but now my sex life is just bout Nile as i try to do every thing to avoid it I get so down about it I have just given up on sex now.I hope the vagifem tablets and creams work for you as i know what you are going through

just an update on 3rd month its improved the itching, been back to specialist who said it is improving but is going to take much longer as it was so bad when i went to her after suffering for at least a year with my GP. Who in fairness did perscribe the same cream and vagifem but only 10mg for 4 weeks where as this is 25mg for at least 4 months or longer sex is still not possible but i now think i tense up but will update again in another 6 weeks !!! I want my great sex life back thankfully my husband is very understanding i just thought after bringing up 4 kids this was going to be our time!! i suspect lots of women suffer we are just too upset to talk about it ..........

I am 60 years old, and I have vaginal dryness which is very uncomfortable at time. I'm not in, or interested in having, a sexual relationship, but the dryness is sometime even uncomfortable just walking. I have tried using a gel, but the effects dont last very long, soon as I've been to the toilet, I am paper dry again. Is there anything else I can try, without the embarrassment of going to the GP?

Can vaginal dryness be caused by having too much sex at an early age? I'm asking this because my wife is 21 and a bit of a bore in bed because she's mostly dry and does nothing about it. What causes dryness so early in life?

Why is my doctor so against h r t patches. I suffer from hot flushes, stress incontinence, loss of libido and vaginal dryness. I am 65and had a full hysterectomy age 42 . I was on HRT for about 15 years without any ill effects but my doctor decided 2 years ago that she was not going to prescribe it for me because of the published risks ( which have turned out to be a very small increase for HRT users).Vaginal dryness and loss of libido are so severe that sex is a thing of the past and to even try intercourse is so painful. My husband is very understanding where sex is concerned but is worried about my stress incontinence and the increased risk of osteoporosis as my last bone density test showed slightly below average for my age.

I am suffering with the same symptoms , I also have been diagnosed with a condition called lichen sclerosis which causes itching and soreness and have been given steroid cream , but as the hydrcortisone should only be used sparingly as it can alter the skin I have to apply estrogen cream as well. My doctor also. Won't put me back on hormone replacement therapy, surely the benefits of h r t patches out weigh the slight risks associated with it . I also had a hysterectomy in my 40s and was on hormone replacement for 15years..I wish there was an answer to this problem as the symptoms are very distressing

i had the bar put in and although it was very good in stopping my period it lowered my estrogen levels so low that i started having sever night sweats and also caused me to have vaginal dryness, i have had the bar taken out and was put on the pill only to help bring my estrogen levels back up but this only made the dryness a lot worse and caused me to have migranes. So now i am on nothing at all to try and hopefully get back to normal?

I have the exact same issue. I'm 23 in a monogamous relationship and I cant get wet and if I do it drys right up. It's really embarrassing that's for sure. My boyfriend think's I'm not attracted to him and I am extremely. No amount of 4play helps it becomes painful to have sex again cuz I'm sore from the first time and he get's frustrated and I feel like there's something wrong with me.

I can relate to your experience. Several years ago I had that same problem and kept going to many doctors, who give me vaginal creams that did not work. It drove me crazy especially at at nights. When my ex-husband left, the symptoms went away completely, so it seem like I was allergic to him some how. There is a product you can get online call Womb bend. It like a tea in which you drink 2 times a day. It great for vaginal itching. Also, for dryness use baby oil externally after every bath.
