I had a small cluster of verrucas on my left foot and I used bazuka. They don't hurt, but I can clearly see the circles and they are fairly hard skinned. Are these just scars or do you think there is still a trace of the verrucas? What should I do? I can't easily go to the doctor's as I am living abroad. I have had these for about 2-3 years now.

I have the exact same problem, what is making mine improve slightly is using a scalpel to remove the hard skin and then using cream to moisturise it. It doesn't get rid of them but really does make them better!

I've found my first verrucas at the age of 75!! Am horrified! I may have been filing them without realising they were there. Am now treating them with Thuja cream. What is worrying me is how long the virus might hang around on my bedside rug - I have been treading on it with bare feet before discovering verrucas. Do I need to disinfect it in any way? I don't want to re-infect myself.

I have lost count of the verrucas on my feet - they don't really hurt much, but they're still spreading on my feet. I realy just want to know an effective way of getting rid of loads of verrucas! The doctor said I can't get them frozen off now, and I've tried ducktape, it started to work, but then it didn't! Anyone have any tips?

I am so pleased I found a cure. I have suffered with verrucas on my left foot for years and I had a whole cluster. Shortly before Xmas i tried soaking a small amount of cotton wool in cider vinegar and covering with duck tape overnight. I put on a sock overnight and removed in the morning when I got up to have a shower. Within a week it went black, I continued 10 days just to make sure. It's very painful to walk on first thing in the morning but it was so successful I carried on to remove a crop of about 9 in all one area at a time. They never fell out I just scraped away each week with a scalpel (use with extreme caution) and now my foot is as good as new. Can't believe why I didn't know about it earlier.

You definitely need to see a GP about that. Home remedies are either not very effective, or take a longer while to take effect. The GP will prescribe you a wart treatment containing salicylic acid to get rid of it.

I have 15 verrucas and three warts on one foot, and 5 verrucas and 2 warts on the other foot. I have had them for about 6years now, and have tried everything including; bazucka and other similar gels, freezing acid, tea tree oil, duck tape, banana skins taped over each one, everything. But they will not budge. They are very painful and extremely unattractive. I have tried leaving them to air and not trapping them in sweaty shoes or socks, but still no good. Has anyone got any suggestions to getting rid of them? Please!

    Duct tape!!! Honestly it works!

Silver Nitrate (Avoca) seems to work when everthing else failed for me. I had even tried laser treatment but that only got rid of my money, not my verrucas. I'm still battling mine - it just takes a long time. Seems to help to get them wet before you treat them as well (after a hot bath is good).

I have hole around my verrucas, and i got worried. I have had my verrucas for about 3 years and they are really painful. But.... sometimes when i feel my feet they are all bumpy because of the verrucas! This makes me upset. I read on another website that is you put nailvarinsh over the verrucas and let it dry. Then just peel it of - you'll have todo do it for a while and then they should go. You can also try banana skin and rube that on the verrucas.

I have about 20 verrucas all stuck together at the top of my foot. i have been so embarassed about it all my life and now i really want them gone. i have tried salatac gel if anyone knows that but it hasnt helped because the verrucas are too hard now.icant do anything now and im scared people will find out soon. what can i do? does duct tape work with verrucas you have had for many years and a well dug into your skin? please help!

Wow, i might try duck tape, thanks!:D

i'm 20 so i don't know if i'm too old to get rid of mine in the same way but i've tried the duct tape thing before for a while and it didn't work, although my doctor never told me to rip it off, does that part actually help? what other tricks have you got? :)

Hi, i have had verrucas for about three years now, iv had them froze but it doesnt really work for me i have been told that covering them with duck tape for 28 days without removing it atall can get rid of them and it works! as the veruca can not breathe it gets smaller and smaller and dissapears, also you can get rid of verrucas by filing them you can file verrucas off and get rid off all the dry skin.

If your suffering with warts or verrucas genrally a deep tissue trauma to an affected area will clear them up very quickly, there should be a podiatrist at your local NHS health center book an apointment to have your veruccas/ warts cut off and that should Get rid of them, I'm 16 and up until the age of 14 suffered from very painful verrucas, I happened to be having surgery at the podiatrists to have ingrown toe nails removed and the said they would cut the largest verrucas off for me, they said this was likely to reduce or completely get rid of my verrucas, when the bandages were removed and the wounds allowed to heal I realised the the space of 3 weeks every verruca was gone including the ones on my thum that wasn't touched by the pediatrist.

Hi I’ve got verrucas all over my body! I have been having verrucas on and off for the last 5 years and I’ve been using different forms of treatment (criotherapy, Wartner, salicid acid, etc). They appear and last for several months after which they disappear for about a month just to reappear again. Recently, I had a verruca on my foot, but soon after other areas of my body got infected. Now I’ve got lots of small verrucas covering my whole right hand and two fingers of my left hand. Two weeks ago verrucas started to appear on my forearms and now on my face. I think I might have a problem with my immune system but my GP says to wait and see. I am worried and my social life is significantly impaired. I’ve heard that a Virologist could help, who is a virologist and where I can find one?

Hi, I'm 13 years old and I've had verrucas since I was younger than 7. They started off quite normally (just one or two) and the doctor recommended normal treatment. I kept this up for a long time, but there was no change. My verrucas have just got worse! I have about 5 verrucas, a group of them and I think a bit of athlete's foot on my left foot and 3 verrucas on my right. I've tried practically every treatment available but nothing works. They just keep getting worse and multiplying over the years. It does affect me because I can't go swimming without being very self concious because the chlorine makes them go bright white. I also can't wear flip flops or go barefoot around the house. They are also sometimes very painful because they are all around the ball of my foot. If you have any treatment recommendations they will be very appreciated!!

I have been suffering with verrucas for 3 years now and nothing seems to get rid off them. I started off using Bazuka then went to my GP who referred me to Podiatry to get them debribed. Podiatry suggested duck tape so I tried this which didn't work. I then tried Salatac and Occlusal; neither of these two worked and I just kept getting verrucas. Podiatry wrote to my GP who referred me to a dermatologist; the dermatologist put me on Aldara 5% Cream and they said it would cause inflammation and soreness but neither of these have occured. I have seen an increase in the number of new verrucas since starting this treatment. I have also had 4 weeks of low level laser which saw no improvement. My GP has donw a blood test to check my immune system but the tests came back within normal range. I want to get rid of these verrucas; any help??

I am trying nail varnish still have a week to go but foot looks so much better, but not free from verrucas yet. MY TIP use skin coloured nail varish pinkish brown or clear then verrucas are not so visible. Tried chiropodists - freezing - acid pads -some sort of ultra sonic. Bazooka,Scholls, etc no joy Duct tape didn't work for me but I know others it did work for.Think the trick is it must be airtight. May all your Verrucas drop off.

Sharon, thank you for your communication. I would say is stick with this treatment. It took about 3 months for my verrucas to dissapear, but today I am still totally clear of verrucas. I only bought 2 bottles of the Colloidal Silver water and sometimes as i was so busy with work, even went a week without taking any. But I have to say this stuff works wonders. I did also apply the Bazooka freezing treatment to one particular cluster of verrucas whilst taking this, but do not think this was the benefiting factor here.

The thing you need to use is clear nail varnish it works

Hi Louise Can someone please tell me what Colloidal Silver water is for? Do you drink it? Is it in any way harmful for the body? I have been battling with my verruca for two years. Am using Verrufilm. When Ibathe it and pick the white film it's like white dust that comes off. Am I getting any nearer to its extinction? Seems smaller than it used to be. Depressing! When will it ever go?

Well I have had these verrucas for over 24months now and have not got any better they are giving me severe pain and I can not walk proply also they are now starting to spread down my foot from my big toe on my left foot and verrucas are buried extremely far beneath the skin surface which makes it hard for the verrucas buzuka. Cream to work. My mum has spent lots of money to sort it and none of it has worked. We have now come up with a plan to phone the podiatrist up in town and see if they can do anything. Hope this helpss xxxxx

I have had 7 verrucas on my right foot and 5 verrucas on my left foot for as long as I can remember and it all started off with just the one - but unfortunately they rapidly started to spread. I heard that rubbing a potato over them was supposed to cure them or a banana skin but really they were just old wives tales! I have been to the doctors and had them frozen and I have also used lots of treatments to try to cure them but absolutely none of them worked except one which had zinc in it. It cured the two verrucas on my right toe but unfortunately hasnt done anything to the others. Talk about annoying!

Tea tree oil dab on pain will be gone in a day mine did and I had a big mosiac one

The main reason verrucae are painful is because they form a lump that you put pressure on, either because you walk on them if they are under your foot, or becuase they rub against adjacent toes and become increasingly irritated and painful. Obviously you are keen to get rid of this problem, but your chiropodist could (?should) also recommend ways for you to self care, and ways to reduce this irritation to that you are not in such pain, such as toe seperators or spacers.

At my GPs' surgery there is a wart nurse, but she only treats warts that are not on the feet, i.e. not verrucas. If you have verrucas you just get a little slip telling you how to do the DIY duct tape remedy, which doesn't always work.
