I can cum but not a lot of sperm comes out and I am very worried. Is it because I am over weight? I am around 16 stone. Does that effect it? Please help

Ive lost my voice completely for over 4 weeks now and cannot talk at all. In the past 5 years it has happened quite a few times maybe twice a year. The 1st time i lost it for 6 months and saw an ent specialist and had to learn to talk again. After that i have lost my voice for a 1 week, a few days and now i have lost my voice again for over 4 weeks now. I am waiting to see another ent specialist but the nhs seem to take forever and it is going to be november before i can see anyone. I have looked at private and its £190 just for a consultation. Nobody seems to know what it is or why it happens which is the most frustrating thing and i dont know when it will come back. Has anybody else been in this situation and is so what have they found out.

Hi I have had weight loss surgery and lost 9 stone 9lb's, however since losing the weight, I now have excess skin on my stomach and due to weight loss on my breasts they are very saggy and to add insult to injury have inverted nipples which seem to have got worse since the weight loss, I am unsure whether or not to apply to my GP as I don't know if the NHS would allow this.

Please help, I am 24y. My penis NBPEL size is 5.7 inches, and BPEL is 6.7 inches. Is my penis of 5.7 inches in erect length normal? Last year I lost 60 pounds. I was 256 and now I am 196 pounds. My height is 6 foot and 3 inches. I am also very concerned about the size of my testicles. My left is smaller that right testicle. Size is about 2 inch x 1 inch x 1 inch, and calculator of Volume of an Egg say that volume is about 17cc (cubic centimeters). Is this normal? I do not have a lot of hair on my chest, and I don't have very deep voice. I am afraid that my testicles don't produce enough testosterone. My whole male family have very deep voice, very chast hair, especially my dad. I do not know their size of the testicles and penis so I need help to answer my questions. And one more question: Will I get deeper voice, lot chast hair and bigger testicles? Thanks!

Hi. I am a 57 year old female who has smoked and drank (socially) most of my life. For the past 9 weeks I have had hoarseness consistently in my voice to the point I cannot even be heard by people at work. I also have some kind of sore throat and dizziness. I just feel like something is really off. Yesterday I lost my voice totally. So scary. I am wondering if any off you out there had these symptoms before being diagnosed with throat cancer. It has taken 2 emerge visits to get an appt with an ENT doc witch I see in a week. I would like to know what he may do at the appt and any symptoms you all had that took you to the doctor. Thanks for sharing with me. Just waiting and wondering.

I'm very confused and frustrated as this is effecting my day to day life any help or advice would be appreciated thanks x

Hello, The programme made it look like it was very easy to get diagnosed and treated. It isnt always the case. I've had this condition for nearly 4 years. It look a year to be diagnosed (by an ENT specialist, a narologist and a Speech Therapist). I've had speech therapy for 3 years and tried lots of additional treatments (accupunture, osteopathy, throat massage and counselling in case it was trapped emotion - sadly its not!). Botox definitely does help but it is only short term. Sure it serves its purpose, you can speak again with ease for a while - but that's it. Only a short while. I had to go back every 2.5 months for more. Eventually scare tissue developed, which made the injections (I had it bi-laterally each time) became harder to inject. Originally I had to pay privately for this and then managed to get it on the NHS (I had to push for this to happen). Its worth you having botox if you are struggling but there is also an alternative if you are willing to put the work in yourself. I decided towards the end of last year that I wanted to try an alternative to botox, I couldnt accept that this was my only option for the rest of my life (Im in my early 30s). Through research I found Free to Speak Voice Therapy. It taught me the importance of posture, alignment, the correct breathing techniques and so much more. I am now retraining my voice into a new groove. Its working. I feel liberated and am finally starting to be able to speak freely for the first time in years. Its given me my life and my confidence back. I understand its a frustrating time for you and you want to get the right treatment. Do what's best for you but please consider the alternative to botox. Its worth trying the botox and it certainly served its purpose well and helped me to sound 'normal' again (in a botoxed voice). However, the best thing you can do for your voice is free it completely. Inhibiting the old patterns of behaviour that your voice has learnt with your SD condition and retraining it. I truly feel liberated now from my voice prison and able to speak freely again.

My voice hasn't broken yet and i'm 16. My voice sounds really camp and makes people call me 'gay' and constantly ask if im gay. I didn't choose to have my voice like this, but im wondering if theres anything that can be done to change my voice or deepen it so it doesnt sound as gay/camp. It gets me down.

'Telling the story from personal impact' lol I was hit by a car in 1994 and suffered a massive head injury. My voice went through periods of me speaking like a South African though mainly I sounded Welsh-Italian! Over the years my voice has become stable, but is it 'normal'? I am told by most speech therapists that I am dysarthric yet tests say I am not! It is the new me, I guess, as no one can remember how I spoke before. Oddly, I was good at accents (and animal impressions), but now can do none :( All I have left is a voice I use to speak, but it is not really me.

I have suffered with voice problems for 7 months, I have throat spasms my voice will suddenly go when I'm speaking or I will just lose my voice for up to a week at a time. My throat is constantly sore (but it's not like a throat infection soreness) I have had 2 cameras down my throat and keep being told I have reflux (I have taken numerous tablets and medication prescribed to me which makes no difference) I have niw referred to speech therapy and have attended 1 session to date, she also thinks I have reflux :(. It really gets me down I work in a school as a teaching assistant and this really effects my job. Nights out are now depressing as I can't keep up with the conversation without losing my voice... Does anyone have any suggestions other than the Botox,I don't fancy doing that every 3 months for the rest of my life :( ....

I am curious what your thoughts were on the book Intertwined?

Hi I often get sore throat and loose my voice or it becomes very hoarse. Been to the doctor several times and they say its not tonsillitis it's my vocal cords that get infected and there's nothing the doctor can do to help. They tell me to rest my voice. I am concerned as I get this sometimes twice in a month. I'm not happy with the doctors response and im worried I will damage my vocal cords so much that I will loose my voice completely or maybe even worse could it be cancer?

And, my penis has not yet grown and my voice has'nt broke, Personally i'm not that bothered but my Mother said if my voice has'nt broken (balls dropped) by the time i'm 16 there's something wrong. Should i be worried, i'm starting to get a bit worried and upset.

Hi. I'm 14 years old. 2 weeks ago I experienced and sore throat followed by loosing my voice and sounding " like a man " now the past 3-4 day I've had this weird sensation of having a lump in my throat and burping moves it. I can specifically locate where the lump is in my throat it just feels as if though something's there. Burping moves it and have to re swallow to not feel the lump sensation. I've tried warm cups of tea to try to break my voice when it's hoarse but it doesn't seem to work. My voice goes hoarse when I try to do a high note eg. Screaming or singing. My burps have been increasing and irritates my throat and makes the lump "move" I'm recently on medication but haven't got an allergy to anything in it. Please help???????

Please don't give up on your academic work. Perhaps software developed such as Dragonspeak developed for dyslexics would help.then you could speak and have the computer write it for you. You can also find a similar voice recognition voice to text program with Microsoft which comes free on computers using Microsoft. Good luck

That's really brave! I have ET and have had it now for 14 years, I aquired the stupid embarrising condition when I was 24! It started in my neck but has now started to affect my voice!! Everybody thinks I'm just a nervous wreck!! I have been offered botox to stop the shake in my voice! (Which I'm not sure I am going to have).... But well done to u! What a gud attitude u have towards ignorant people that do not have a clue about the horid condition!!

I had Adam's Apple reduction surgery seven weeks ago. The surgeon said I should get my normal voice back within a month. I sound like rasping bear on a low key. Does it take some people longer than normal for their voice to return? My throat specialist said no damage was done to my vocal cords but they are hardly vibrating to give me higher notes. Has anyone had this problem, I'm very unhappy about it not improving thus far.

About 4 weeks ago I noticed the pitch of my voice has changed. Higher than before. I'm a singer, and many people have begun to wonder what's wrong with my voice. On top of that, the left side of my throat hurts when I speak and my neck feels swollen somehow but no lumps or anything. I get left ear pain occationally. Could this be a simple nodule on my vocal chords or something else? I'm 43 years old, smoker and I drink about 3 times a week. Thanks.

Hi Just wondered if you had managed to get a diagnosis for this as I am gong through very similar experience. Thanks

I would like to know more about the mental and emotional problems connected with the menopause - for instance loss of confidence, connected with loss of mental agility, memory loss etc. Is there anything I can be prescribed? I was told by my GP that HRT can only be given for two years, and she will not continue to prescribe this although it did help
