    Verrucas

Warts on the soles of the feet, which can sometimes be painful. They do not stick up from the surface of the skin, as the weight of the body pushing down on them makes them grow back into the skin. Read more →

Try Wartner TCA Gel Pen. Stronger acid than Bazuka and as it's a gel it isn't runny. It just came out in 2012 and seems to be pretty successful. I also tried Tea Tree oil and you could have a go with other warts elsewhere on your body but for the sole of your foot..it's a SOB. I had one for 4 weeks and lost patience. I know that's not long but I also had a herniated disc with sciatica in my right leg so having a verucca on my left foot made it painful to walk and affected my gait. Also stretching my left leg up to treat the wretched thing exacerbated my right hip. I had mine lasered with a CO2 laser. I live and work in Slovakia now and it only cost €40. (I checked with one or two private clinics in the UK and £100-£150!!). Good luck.

I noticed that I had what appeared to be a wart. Was using Dr.schools clear away wart remover, some of the top part came off on the pad. Then the next nite a had the handle of my storm door hit the wart extremely hard. Now this wart is twice as big as it was and the bottom half wich is red and swollen really is tender and the wart removal disc no longer seems to have an effect on it. That area of my carm seems to ache alot. What should I do?: please and thank you

I was wondering If a plantar wart can be spread from the bottom of the foot to the genitals or to in and around the mouth? If so, do you then get the same type of wart on the genitals or in and around the mouth? Treatable in the same way? Thanks

I've had verrucas in the past but recently I have developed one on my right foot, and within a few days I developed one on my left foot too, along with a wart on the palm of my hand, however this appeared a few weeks before hand. What does this mean and is there any way I can get rid of them?

Why dont you go to your GP? The nurse will 'freeze' it for you. It may take a few sessions, and you must have had the verruca for 18 months. Its free and effective.

well i have a veruca and a wart too so do wat i m going 2 do: see ur gp about it and get some medication hope i helped!

I've had a rather large wart under the ball of my foot for sometime now. I bought a product called "wart off" which was a diy kit of dry ice to burn it off and nothing happened. I then got it burnt off by my local GP and i have sprouted very small but new ones and the original one it much bigger? When I had it done it became a bit blister sort of thing that I tried to scrape off, it looked as though it was all gone but came back bigger. It can be painful when my feet are in a moist environment. Although, when very dry I can feel like I could just cut it off? Is there any further procedures that you can get like having it removed surgically or is dry ice the only option?

ive had anal warts now for a few months. the doctor said that there is about half a dozen present, five internal and one external wart. i had cryotherapy on about half of them including the external wart.then my doctor prescribed warticon to use on the external wart to get rid of it. however after using warticon for about a month the external wart is seemingly getting bigger and more painful. what can i do? would i need surgery to get rid of this wart?

Hi, hope you are getting better now. I think it is better to go back to your doctor. I do not believe that surgery is a good solution. From my experience, the traditional Podophyllin works. I was prescribed and the warts are cleared. Ask your doctor if he is able to prescribed you this. You can google it for more info.

Hi ! At the end of January this year, somebody stood on my foot in a club with heels on. For a couple of weeks, my foot was painful and very bruised, however I could walk on it and move my toes so I didn't think I needed to get it checked out. Having previously breaking my ankle and leg, it was obvious to me that my foot was perfectly mobile, despite the bruising. Now ( 3 months after), I still have bruising down the side of my foot and pain if I apply pressure to it or wear tight fitting shoes. I also dance a lot and am experiencing pain in my foot after I have been dancing for a while. Is it worth( or too late )getting my foot checked now? And do you think anything even would be able to be done to it if there was a problem, due to how long it's been left? Thanks for reading!

I had a verucca a few years ago. It was on the bottom of my foot, so it was compressed and went really deep. I couldn't walk properly because it pressed on my nerves, and I feel that it contributed to some back problems I have, due to the fact that I used to walk on the side of my foot. The way I got rid of it was by filing the wart with an electric nail file, applying an over the counter wart treatment. I would let this soak in for about half an hour, then file the wart again, then apply treatment once more. I did this every day until it went away. It worked really well, because filing the wart allowed the wart treatment to really sink into the wart. I've never had a verucca since :) (thank god)

I used crushed garlic to get rid of a wart, verrucas (big one with 7 baby ones around it) and also athletes foot. Its killed off all the above infections with no scarring either. It is marvellous stuff. Though use with caution. To banish a wart or verruca, file with an emery board first (or if particularly big a foot file). I also used a sterilised needle to puncture the wart but that is just me being a bit mad. The idea is to make surface of the wart able to absorb the juice of the garlic. Place the garlic on top cover with a plaster and leave on for about an hour. Do not leave it any longer as garlic can 'burn' the skin and cause blisters. Garlic is powerful stuff. It will hurt like crazy. It will go red and nasty and form a scab, 'but' in the process it will kill the wart/verruca. Surprisingly in all the occasions I have done this I have never had a scar afterwards. Once on my finger and once on my foot. Athletes foot there is no need to file down as the area is already very soft and delicate. Just crush and stick between your toes for an hour. Repeat over a few days until its gone. Only for the brave or desperate.

Hi, my young daughter had a mass of plantar warts on the sole of foot and i was totally unaware she had them until i saw her really limping up our driveway from the school bus one day. Im not sure if these r available where u r or not, but i bought the Scholl Wart Pads for her from my local supermarket and within a week the first wart had died and once that went they all went. They were very easy to use even on the soles of her feet. Very Highly Recommend!!!!

I was wondering If a plantar wart can be spread from the bottom of the foot to the genitals or to in and around the mouth? If so, do you then get the same type of wart on the genitals or in and around the mouth? Treatable in the same way? Thanks

i used to have a wart on my finger and my teacher told me to rub the inside of a banana skin on the wart (so you can see that excess juice and stuff is on the wart) and put a plaster on it, do this everyday for a week and the wart should go, it worked with me

When i was a child i had very bad verrucas on the ball of my foot, what worked for me was a caustic pencil i don,t know if they make them anymore but basically it looked like a felt tip pen that you just rubbed into the middle of wart,i have also heard that banana peel works,by cutting a bit off and placing it with the white fleshy side on the verruca and duct tape over the top,you have to stop the air getting to it as the wart needs air to survive

Quite an interesting theory you have! The use of duct tape and banana peels are old wives tales, and in fact the wart does not need air to survive at all. Viruses (the cause of the wart) don't even breathe! Caustic pencils however do work for some people, and are definitely a treatment that can be used in case of stubborn warts and verrucas.

I used the banana skin on my daughters stubborn verrucas & they turned the veruccas black and after a week of taping banana skin on to the veruccas morning & night they came out when picked with no pain. I had tried everything on the market for years prior to this. My friend who's a nurse was surprised & said it was possibly the acid in the banana skin that did the trick

And on my right hand i have another periungual wart on my middle finger and tis one is quite bad has half of my finger nail has wore away because of this wart. Its horrible!!! and embarrasing!!! Tried gels and creams for it. But to scared to try the freezing one as apparently then really hurt. Someone please give me some advice on how to get rid OF ALL THESE WARTS AND VERRUCA'S!!!

I tried freezing mine and although it didn't hurt,it's still there.

my daughter had a wart on her knee for nearly 2 years, i tried almost everything and nothing worked fully, the freezing shrunk it but it always grew back. Eventually i bought a rough foot file and filed the surface of it twice a day and kept it covered with a plaster (sometimes there would be a few timy spots of blood). The wart did reduce in size and after about 5 weeks i went to file it again and the whole thing came off, it has never returned.

I also had verrucas covering one of my big toes and the ball of my foot (on the other foot) from the age of about 6 to about 15. My doctor advised at the time that they were so severe there wasn't much he could do to remove them! I spent most of my childhood in socks and hiding my feet but after several years they just simply vanished overnight! Not sure if that helps, but I (touch wood) haven't had a single wart or verruca since - I'm now 27.

I've had this thing on my thumb for 3 years now, and Everyone thinks it's a wart, but I've tried loads of wart treatments on it and they haven't even made a mark, and it doesn't really look like an average wart. I was thinking it could be a callus, but it looks more like a wart than a callus, so I'm really confused by it, please help. x

My daughter had a wart on her toe, the dr gave me some stuff to burn it off with, he said it would take a good couple of months and be careful not to burn the healthy skin around the wart. I did not like the sound of this so i looked on the web, and someone recomended clear nail varnish and an emery board, sooooo easy!!!! Wart gone in about 10 days. No burning or pain to my child, yipee! All i did was file the wart which was underneath her toe, with the emery board so the seeds were exposed, you dont have to go mad with the filing either, then cover wart completely with nail varnish and let it dry. The wart then cannot get air which it needs to survive. I repeated this every 2 nights and eventually the wart just turned blackish and just dropped off. Much better than what the dr gave me and gone much quicker too!
