    Verrucas

Warts on the soles of the feet, which can sometimes be painful. They do not stick up from the surface of the skin, as the weight of the body pushing down on them makes them grow back into the skin. Read more →

Hi, hope you are getting better now. I think it is better to go back to your doctor. I do not believe that surgery is a good solution. From my experience, the traditional Podophyllin works. I was prescribed and the warts are cleared. Ask your doctor if he is able to prescribed you this. You can google it for more info.

I have 1 small wart on the side of my leg nr my testicals i use a wart cream on this should it clear or is something to worry about.

You should probably see a medical professional. I don't believe that one can get common or plantar warts on their genitals. Get checked out so you know what the best route for treatment will be.

Dear Embarrassing Bodies I am suffering from a single wart at the base of my penis on and off for over 5 years. I have a wart on my scalp. Initially I was not aware that it was a wart and I broke it with my nails thinking it was a pimple. My GP said as its on my scalp they cannot prescribe any medicine. I'm experiencing hair fall too and is more worried now. I feel embarrassed to sit in the office and feels someone may find it out even though my hairs hides it. Please help.

i used to have a wart on my finger and my teacher told me to rub the inside of a banana skin on the wart (so you can see that excess juice and stuff is on the wart) and put a plaster on it, do this everyday for a week and the wart should go, it worked with me

I've had this thing on my thumb for 3 years now, and Everyone thinks it's a wart, but I've tried loads of wart treatments on it and they haven't even made a mark, and it doesn't really look like an average wart. I was thinking it could be a callus, but it looks more like a wart than a callus, so I'm really confused by it, please help. x

My daughter had a wart on her toe, the dr gave me some stuff to burn it off with, he said it would take a good couple of months and be careful not to burn the healthy skin around the wart. I did not like the sound of this so i looked on the web, and someone recomended clear nail varnish and an emery board, sooooo easy!!!! Wart gone in about 10 days. No burning or pain to my child, yipee! All i did was file the wart which was underneath her toe, with the emery board so the seeds were exposed, you dont have to go mad with the filing either, then cover wart completely with nail varnish and let it dry. The wart then cannot get air which it needs to survive. I repeated this every 2 nights and eventually the wart just turned blackish and just dropped off. Much better than what the dr gave me and gone much quicker too!

My daughter had a plantars wart on the underside of her toe that was getting bigger and painful as it was on the pressure oint of the toe. I took her to the gp who gave creams that did not work.I heard about using ripe banana skin.... Get the skin of a ripe banana, cut to the size of the wart and place the soft side on the wart, tape it on with surgical tape. You can change this once a day until the wart falls out. I did this for a week some may take longer;but at the end of it NO WART AND NOT A SCAR IN SIGHT.

I had a verucca a few years ago. It was on the bottom of my foot, so it was compressed and went really deep. I couldn't walk properly because it pressed on my nerves, and I feel that it contributed to some back problems I have, due to the fact that I used to walk on the side of my foot. The way I got rid of it was by filing the wart with an electric nail file, applying an over the counter wart treatment. I would let this soak in for about half an hour, then file the wart again, then apply treatment once more. I did this every day until it went away. It worked really well, because filing the wart allowed the wart treatment to really sink into the wart. I've never had a verucca since :) (thank god)

im 26 had a single wart for a year. when i first noticed it i went to my gp and gave me a diagnose and also took samples of my vagina they recommended a few sexual health clinics, unfortunately the one i went to were unable to treat it this time they took blood samples for HIV and syphilis and again vaginal samples to test for chlamydia and other infections.. this really put me off seing anyone else about it, had been in 2 different places before, beign seen for like 3 different people and still the wart was there untreated, it was very frustrating. but i had to get over the shame and get rid of the wart once and for all so i went to the ambrose king centre in london, they ran all the tests again but this time they sprayed the wart with something cold i understand is liquid nitrogen or something like that, it really didnt hurt and the wart fell after a week. if you think you have a wart dont bee too ashamed to seek for help before they spread or cause more problems.

I have recently noticed a small spot-like bump just outside my anal passage. I was wondering what the chances are of this being a wart and what the best course of action would be to get it treated, if it is a wart, i.e cream treatments or a visit to my GP. I once had a wart on my penis about 5 years ago so I think this new one may have some sort of connection with it. Thanks.

I had quite annoying wart problem caused by shaving, I have tried salicylic acid burning and over the counter freezing treatments; neither of them worked. Then I tried using pure tea tree oil, this stuff works wonders, I only applied a drop or enough to cover the wart. Although it stinks a bit my warts dropped off within a week painlessly and more importantly no scars or any sign of the wart ever exists. I highly recommend tea tree oil. P.S. the oil also treated my juvenile wart around my nail

NEVER be embarrassed about having a smear test - they can save your life. yeah they're not that pleasant but its better to have five minutes of being uncomfortable than finding out too late that you have cervical cancer. as to the wart - it might well be a generic wart. if you've had it for years then its quite likely thats what it is but genital warts can show up on the top of thigh too. please go to the doctor and please please please book a smear test - they're dead easy and really, they can save your life.

I have something that looks like a wart on my arm, I'm not sure if it is a wart or not, and it's been there for at least 2 years, should I go to the doctors and see what they can do? And find out whether it is a wart or not?

I had five warts on my hand and thumb for over three years. After trying absolutely everything and failing, I read this on the internet and it worked on every one of them. And quickly too. Put some white vinegar on a cotton wall ball and plaster it over the wart over night. Remove in the morning and the wart will be white. Just leave it. Within a week or so it will blister and scab over. Once the scab falls off, goodbye wart. I cant believe I spent so much money on tons of different wart treatments and all it took was white vinegar!

it depends how many times you've had it burnt/frozen off.

May I know how did you find out that it is a wart? Always seek help from a certify doctor. In this case, have a doctor to diagnosed if this is a wart. For external wart, usually Podophyllin is prescribed. Your doctor will tell you how to use it. It is by far the most effective medication for removing warts (as from my own experience). Hope you are getting better. Please update us of your progress.

Hi, I also had the same problem. Although, I only had one wart, I had it frozen, which was a little uncomfortable but I was able to grit my teeth and bare it. My wart went the same day it was frozen, however, everyone is different. If you have had the HPV vaccine it will protect you against one type of genital wart, however, there are over 80 different types of warts. To prevent you getting them back once you have had them so make sure you take vitamins and drink plenty of water. Good luck xx

Try common "wart kill" - a liquid in a small bottle with application brush. I had a rather large dark wart that seemed to pop up and grow rather quickly on my neck. I applied "wart kill" very frequently and slowly the wart "died" and I gradually removed all dead tissue. No sign of it remains now for about 2 years. There was no bleeding during the process of removal. I'm not absolutely sure but I think all warts can be removed wih common "wart kill" available "over the counter" in most "Cheap chemist" stores. I hope this helps - it's worth a try - tho I don't know about vaginal or anal warts as these areas are more sensitive but some of the regular surgical treatments seem to also be equally risk prone.
