I recently found a bump by my anus. My current partner and I don't use condoms but he does not have warts - can warts be passed on through virus if they are not visible on him? we have been faithful to each other, but the 'warts' have only appeared now?! if not then the only other option would be from an ex who i haven't had intercourse with for over a year. is a year too long for warts to develop? who could have given them to me?

Warts, in particular facial warts. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of these. I have read all the comments on warts of the hands etc, but nothing on the face. Can anyone help?

i used duct tape on finger warts and it worked after 4days , my next step was to ask doctor about cathardine or green blister beetle juice , it destroys the entire warts cellular structure without scarring apparentley .

I have had genital warts for nearly 2 years, I've used Warticon, Aldara and had them frozen but nothing seems to be working. What are the chances that I will be stuck with visable warts forever? I'm scared of meeting someone because I'm too afraid to tell them about me having warts, its ruined my life. Am I alone?

hi, no u r not alone, i have found that i have them about 4 months, i was in a relationship and we split up because of that, i am still on treatment but having depression doesnt help, when i think i am clear shows up other wart, i am 38 years old and i think Embarrissing Bodies should talk about this, u r not alone and u can have a normal life, but i am with u, how to tell your date that u have them or how to start a new relationship when your last boyfriend has the virus but is imune the warts and couldnt cope with what i have??!!!

I've noticed three odd bumps in the genital area. Got them looked at at a clinic, but the Dr wasn't sure what they were. He said they might be warts, although they don't have the typical appearance of warts. He also said that treatment wasn't strictly necessary because a) he wasn't sure they were warts anyway and b) even if they were they were very small, so I should only seek treatment if they get bigger. My question is: Is it safe for me to have sex as normal while I have these? (Protecting my partner from catching HPV from me is not a particular concern as if I've got it then he almost certainly already has it as well, in fact I may have got it from him.) And, assuming they are warts, how long do they typically take to go away by themselves?

A wart just appeared on my face just near my temple, its hideous. Is this anything to do with the virus that causes genital warts? Can warts on the face be treated the same as warts anywhere else on the body?

Hi, I had the exact same problem for about 1 year. It looked ridiculous! I went to my GP and they booked and appointment for me to get it removed- it doesn't hurt so there's nothing to worry about. I'm sorry but warts on the face can not be removed with removal cremes for warts on other parts of the body. Warts on the face can only be removed by a doctor, if you use one of the cremes it can cause serious damage. Good luck.

I was diagnosed with genital warts last year and have had them frozen off. I've only had 2 small warts but I am concerned about the connection between genital warts and cervical cancer. Am I in more risk of getting cervical cancer as I've had genital warts?

im a man with genital warts what can i do to get them removed

Go and have a smear test done. I had genital warts and when I had my smear test done I had cervical abnormalities. It DOES NOT mean you have cancer, just that there could be some inflammation. I didn't have cancer, and the treatment was simple and painless. In Wales you can have a smear test done from 20, in England it is 25.

I have genital warts and have applied the cream given to me by the doctor at the GUM clinic, the warts have gone but if i have no other STI does that mean i can have unprotected sex? Furthermore, once the cream has been applied and the warts no longer exist does that mean that i no long have the virus?

You will always be a carrier of the virus but it can lay dormant. Things like stress can cause a reoccurrance. You may have more come up but the good news is that the longer you go without a reoccurance the less likely you are of having one. As for unprotected sex, havent you learned already?

I don't know I have anal warts or not. But from the look of it, maybe I have. I'm a 22, male. The warts appear a week ago. I'm just curious and scared. Here are my questions: 1. When it bleeds does the virus spread? Because, I do sometimes pick it. 2.Do you have a cure for it? Can it be gone for good? Some say it can be heal but it takes time. 4.I also heard that it can cause cancer? It it true? 5. Does the warts only appear outside of the anus only? or it can appear inside too? Sorry to ask a lot of questions. I hope you can answer it all and give some advices. I'm so worried. Thank you very much.

its a virus so unless medicine progresses amazingly, you're stuck with it. good news is though that your body should clear the virus in a couple of years so you wont have it any more. in the mean time you might want to have a chat with your doctor about smear tests. i have the wart virus and im happily married so its totally possible to find someone awesome. its actually pretty benign as STIs go as long as you keep up to date on your smear tests.

I would suggest going to a GUM clinic if you are concerned about warts. Freezing them followed by a course of cream treatments is probably most effective - freezing is painless, just a little uncomfortable. Just because you have warts doesnt mean your partner will get them and visa versa, they may have the virus but will not get visible warts. If you dont have visible warts you cant get checked for them or treatment for them. Sometimes warts go away on there own, sometimes they return after treatmen (usually within 18 months of having them) its different for everyone.... It is the most common STI so you are not alone, my suggestion would be to keep an eye on them so they dont spread and deal with the issue, the good news is gential warts are not linked to cancer or more concerning conditions.

if you want to check if you have warts use viniger it will turn them white.also in wimon genital warts ARE directly conected to cervical cancer so it is extreemly immportant to go to the docter and get regular pap tests. the good news is that with mostr people the virus that causes the warts will leave your body in 18 months. i have very recently been diagnosed with the warts and as to the girkl who whos boy friend said you were sleeping around warts can take anywhere from 2 weeks to years to appear after infection

iv had warts for about 4 years now and its only been for about the last 6-8 months causing me massive problems, the appearance of the warts and how frequently they are coming up has led me to seek counselling, also been taken out of work under health and safety legislation. about 15 warts on my left hand inc preligual warts and common, 3 warts on my right hand, 12 or so filiform warts on my face and 2 verrucas. tried every remedy you can think of from acids to gells and paint, to home remedy and cyrotheorpy but nothing seems to be working. my gp recommends that i should keep trying with the creams and cyrotheorpy because surgery can change the bedding of my nails (which most of them are). help me :(

I live in the USA, small town in Illinois, never even really been out of my state. I get these warts like where my pubic hair is, could it be this? I have only had one sexual partner in my life, it was only a one time thing. There was some sexual abuse in my life when I was younger, but I have a hard time remembering everything that happened because I was young, though I do know that there was full intercourse. Look, the warts are so embarrassing, I have never told anyone, I can't even have a sex like because I know I have them and I have no idea where the hell these warts comes from. Well I believe they are warts, on account of I don't even know what warts really are. The question is if I have only had one sex partner in my adult life, could I have this? These warts hurts really bad, they grow to be really big, they bleed and its really extremely painful. I just need help, I don't know who to ask, I'm embarrassed and afraid that the one time I had sex back in 8th grade that I have this for life. I don't even know if I had the warts before that one time or not. I've now just turned twenty. Can someone help me please?????

if i was you i would go to your GP. i was diagnosed wih high risk HPV at the age of fifteen- im now 16.. i found that i had external warts, i would suggest getting your HPV vaccinations (as warts are definately a symptom), i stopped getting warts after my second vaccination. The vaccinations may help but may not. You can also get the warts burned off with a special chemical (i've had this done too) they usually go from about 4-7 days but occasionally re- appear. dont be embarissed to tell your GP, it's there job and they have seen it all before!

my bf noticed three spots/bumps in the genital area. My question is if it is warts will it affect family planning or would my kids get it and whats the best way to test for genital warts

Go see a real doctor. The one one you went to should have done a biopsy and had an analysis. Wait till it gets bigger? I dunno but I would get a second or even third opinion.

very very rarely do mothers/fathers pass warts onto children during childbirth. They could be pearly penile papules which aren't contagious or an STI. it's just something weird men's bodies do

Hi im 14 and i have about 4 warts on my hand and a build up of about 15 warts on top of eachother and around on my toe. I go to my doctors every 2-3weeks and they freeze them for me with a special spray, and so far the warts on my te have reduced a bit and on my hand 2 of the warts have gone black and will probably fall off soon. I suggest that if you have tried freezing them or had them for over 3 years you go to your doctor as i have the warts on my toe for about 4 years as they go away on how good your immune system is, and mine is terrible so i strongly recommend anyone who has had them for a few years to see their doctor and to not be embarrassed.

Hope that you are getting better. I had warts within and around my anus. For internal anal warts, I had Cryotherapy treatment every week. For external anal warts, I was prescribed Podophyllin. To aid in the process of getting rid the warts, I take Vitamin C pills (500g) with Pycnogenol everyday. Hope this helps.

As a child, I had warts on the side of my knee. A cousin who lived in the country persuaded me that if, by the light of a full moon, I rubbed a snail on the warts and then buried the snail, my warts would go away. A horrible slimey experience, and a dangerous one as I had to sneak out of bed!! but the warts did go away. i have a wart on my finger now, but cannot bring myself to try using a snail again!

I had many warts on one hand I was lucky my GP sent me to see a doc who gave me cimetidine tablets (they are meant for stomach ulcers, which I do not have) but during a study they had found that anyone taking it for ulcers and who had warts - all the warts went. So I took the max. dose 3 tablets a day for three months then a short break then tablets for another month. The warts all went and I have not been troubled again.Joy

I had a number of warts on my hands, one which has been recurring over many years. I was wallpapering in my house over the summer, and I noticed the warts were disappearing. Thankfully they have not returned. Not sure what is in the wallpaper paste, but it got rid of my warts.

Hello. I've had sex 4 times with my partner who i have been with for over a year now. He told me he has genital warts, whereas he hasn't had any other sexual partners meaning the only way he could have got them is by being passed down from his mum at birth. (which i know is very rare) He wouldn't go to the doctors to get it checked out, nor would he tell anyone else about it. Even though he is certain he thinks thats what it is, im not too sure it is. We have used a condom everytime, but there is a lump at the bottom of his penis which it didn't cover. As far as i know i haven't had any warts or lumps at all, but i am still worried i might have the virus, but the warts aren't visible. Is there any checks i could do for them if the warts aren't visible? And is there anyway of checking if the lumps he has are actually genital warts? And could it be anything else? Thankyou!

this will sound very very silly but i've seen it work. my nan used to cure warts with it. basically get yourself a potato cut it in half and rub it on the warts and then bury it. as it decomposes the warts should disappear. its an old folk remedy. keep getting them frozen in the meantime.

Please someone help me. I have been with my girlfriend for two years. At the beginning of the relationship before we had had sex I was diagnosed with genital warts, obviously from a previous partner. I received treatment for the gw. I have had no more warts since. The problem is I constantly worry that my girlfriend will develop warts because I have gave her the virus. She hasn't so far, but I think about it everyday. My gf had only one sexual partner before myself, so if warts were to develop now, she would think I had cheated. Is she likely to develop warts? Are they likely yo return on me after two years? Does the virus ever fully go? Please I just need answers.

I had genital warts over 2 years ago. I had them frozen off and they have never returned. However, the area around my vaginal lips (where the warts were) is always itchy. I check down there regularly and there is never anything suspicious, so why do I have this constant itch? I'm terrified the warts are going to come back

Probably anxiety? Itching can be a sign of irritation - clothes, soaps, etc.. Go to your doctor if you're unsure. Most HPV infections do not recur after a certain period (only a small percentage do). Do not worry.

how does the skin look? if it looks thin and kind of white you might have something called lichen scelerosus - its just a random itchy skin condition. you can treat it with aloe vera or a steroid cream. the other thing is that you might have thrush. that can also cause itching around that area. its unlikely that the warts will come back - the virus usually clears itself out of your system in about two years.
