For the last four years ive had a white gooey stringy substance coming out of my eyes and my eyes are always bloodshot and sometimes swollen. Ive been to a doctor about it and she said she didnt know what it was so she pretty much told me to go away. But recently the problem has been getting worse. I was on holiday and around the 7th day my eyes started producing this substance, and my eyes became extremly irratated. I tried to use my finger to remove the gooey from my eyes but when I got it out of one eye more would be in the other, my eyes became completely red and the pain was unbearable and I was crying. Then my friend told me that a girl had been on this show with similar symptoms, but I cant find anyrthing about it on here. Im really worried incase I really damage my eyes im quite scared. Im going to the doctors as soon as possible to see if they will help me, but does anyone else have any idea what it could be? Please help!

Hi Im not sure if anyone has answered this but you should go to your gp and if they ignore you then go to another one because it may be nothing but at the same time it could be something. As there are many problems that can occur with one's eye's its best to follow it up. Not worth going blind now is it!

i've had a blocked nostril now for over 18 months and very rarely get a decent nights sleep, i do get the odd moment where i can breathe out of both nostrils but this only lasts for a couple of minutes. my gp has tried me on nasal sprays and anti-histamines which don't seem to work, cetirizine hydrochloride tends to stop my eyes from watering but thats about it...i can get up in the morning and on some occasions my nose can run until i fall asleep that night.....had some allergy tests done and the doc says my results were very very high for hayfever...but i feel at my best when i'm actually playing golf (on grass !!!)...HELP PLEASE I'M GOING INSANE

Hi my husband has a similar problem and has had tests etc. He is slightly better now all scented room and car scents have been removed as well as deoderant sprays etc. It hasnt gone but has improved. Check scents objects at work eg what are the cleaners using to clean the environment you are working in etc

Hi. I have had a lot of problems with sinus blockage and infections for the last 4 years or so. I also think I have a lot of allergies. I recently started using a Neti pot to rinse the nose with salt water and for the month I've been using it (twice a day) the symptoms have not returned. If you google it you will find out more, it's a yoga/Indian remedy. I bought a plastic one on an ebay shop and it's great.

I'm 14 (so I'm guessing its a bit of an unusual age to get very watery eyes) but my eyes water with the slightest of wind, sunlight, when I lie on my side and even when applying moisturiser or face make up. But I think there's something wrong with my eyes, the shape of them are perfectly normal but I seem to have just a pink/red gap between my actual eyeball and the outer edge of my eye, like the opposite side to my tear duct, could this be why my eyes are so watery, if so is there anything I can do about it?

Hi!! I don't know you and I don't know what's wrong either but I'm fourteen and I have the exact same thing!! I don't know anyone else who has it and its killing me because there's nothing online about it. Your not alone, my eyes water like that too.

I am also 14, and I have exactly the same problem, my eyes have been watering since about last year. my eyes water all the time in all conditions even inside, when I'm at school I usually just use tissue to wipe away the water but it gets so annoying and gets in the way. I've been to the doctors and they have me eye drops that didnt help at all, they said it was because I wear make up but they water even when I don't. I went to the opticians and he told me that I don't blink all the way, I was very surprised as I thought I did, and I think I still do now, I hope it's just a thing that will pass over time.

I have always had watery eyes, I'm 17 now and still do.... They mainly water when; I look at other eyes, think about eyes, confrontation with people and just randomly sometimes :( Why???

Hi im 39 years of age i have bagus under my eyes there always puffy looking and would like to know if there is anyway i could get rid of them or even reduce them thanks

Hi, I recently had squint surgery done and I've noticed that my eye only looked straight on the day the surgery was done. Every time after that, especially after I've been on the computer for a while and straining my eyes, I notice my squint is still very obvious. But the doctor says she is quite happy with my alignment. Is it possible that somehow i am the only one who sees my eyes as being unaligned when I look in the mirror? I've also been taking pictures regularly and occasionally, my eyes look perfectly aligned and on other occasions,it looks horrible. Is it common for the eyes to drift back to its original position while its healing? Btw, It's almost a month since I had my surgery done.

I caught a virus in my eyes about eight years ago and was left with no tears at all. I have had my tear ducts sealed shut. I use hypromelose drops which help a little and was prescribed Viscotears which I find too sticky. Has there been any developments in this area with regards to a cure? My eyes produce a white substance which is very embarassing and also my eyes are very uncomfortable all the time as they are dry. Have you any ideas or should I go back again to my doctors who don't seem to be able to help. Thank you.

I went to the hospital yesterday for a 2nd eye clinic appointment and because I had my eyes open they said it was just dry eyes. But on leaving the clinic my eyes clamped shut as I was going back to the car. I feel really depressed about this and feel fobbed off by the doctors. My question is this how can I get a diagnosis when they dont see me when I am at home and out of the house. Can I go private.

This the crux of the matter for those sufferers who do not present with the symptoms when visiting the doctor - because most of the triggers for BEB are situations like walking with lots of people around, reading, watching TV and particularly driving. The best solution is to get a friend or family member to video you driving using their mobile phone, and take this evidence ( of your eyelids closing) with you to the medic. He should then refer you to a Neurologist who will prescribe Botox injections if suitable. My son did this for me; I showed the consultant the video and he stated me on the injections straight away. They do help. Good luck.

It took me four years I figured it out on my on, told my reg. doctor, then I started going to eye clinic and just had my third Botox injections, I see a bit of change, but I now use two eye drop twice day that helps a lot, but it can't get in sun are my eyes shut tight, even with dark glasses, but I feel better knowing what it is and i will always have it, I'm 65 yrs old so I'm trying to be creative with hats double sunglasses. Best of luck, call all the eye doctors see if they have patients with this deseise . Hope I've been some help

I don't even know where to start or begin, am equally having this same watering eye on the right which doesn't even allow me to look directly into people's face when am talking i have to be cleaning my watering eye almost every 10 - 30 seconds, this is really embarrassing, you always thinking someone will prompt to clean the dry water mark just beneath your eyes. Please help if any of you have solution to this embarrassing sickness which cannot make you talk freely in public without constantly cleaning your watering eyes.

hi ive been having watery eyes for a few weeks now. Started one morning my eyes were red and itchy (both eyes), i was told i had pink eye. two days later I went to the doctors they said it was pink eye so they gave me "erythromycin ophthalmic ointment." It went away about 5 to 6 days later but my eyes are still watering. Its been 4 weeks total. Every morning i wake up with some crust around my eye lids (not as much as before) but enough you can see and feel. Sometime people ask me if im high because my eyes are red. When they start to get itchy i rub them and they quickly get irritated swollen. I use eye drops everyday it helps a little, i just would like the watering to go away, what could this be? How can this go away?

Hi, I have had watering eyes for 3 1/2 yrs now. It started suddenly with my right eye. Just filled with water and couldn't get it to stop. Eye doc said dry eye. Well other eye started and since then have been to 6 different eye docs. Almost every eye drop out there and no improvement. I went to new doc, took me off drops and did irrigation. Took awhile but finally got fluid out of left eye. Right eye regurrigated so now planned probing. since the irrigation eyes are not watering as much but come an go. Anyone else similar situation? I hate this and have suffered for years!

I also have had it for years. I work in an office. I have sat in meetings my eyes start stream, then i have people asking if im ok. I hope u find a cure but plz leave me know as i have tried everything. Take care

I have a problem with my eyes, they water constantly but not down my cheek but whenever I blink the tear moves up over my eye lid. I am an exzema sufferer and with my eyes watering onto my eye lids it drys out my skin and leaves the eye lid skin flaking and red. I have been using hayfever eye drops to ease the watering but this doesn't seem to make much difference. Is there anything else I can do? Would like to stop my eye lids from drying out and flaking.

Both my eyes have been watering over a year and the doctor ruled out I had blocked tear ducts. However after 3 procedures to open my tear ducts I now have fine plastic tubes inserted to keep my tear duct open. This has made no difference and my eyes are watering worse than before. Now my doctor has prescribed me different dry eye drops but they have made no difference. Can anybody suggest anything that could help me? This is really depressing me. I constantly have to wipe my eyes and they get really soar.

I hope this will help all you girls out there. I started having tearing eyes last year and it lasted 4 months. Same as you all, I couldn't put make up on. I am a 52 year old woman. I did the whole thing - dry eye syndrome, optholmologists to check if the ducts were blocked, eye drops galore and nothing changed. Then I went onto HRT. Within 1 week my eyes stopped watering and I never looked back. But then I had to go off the HRT for other reasons, and low and behold my eyes started watering again. I've been back on the HRT for 10 days and there is obvious improvement, so I am convinced this problem is due to some hormonal imbalance. Good luck girls - hope you fix this awfully embarrassing problem. Lisa

I am 19 and I use to have watery eyes now and then and thought nothing of it as I could still continue with my life. But for the past 6 months my eyes have constantly been watering that I have to carry a tissue with me at all times! People just think I'm always crying and it can be embarrassing. I feel like my vision is a bit blurred and my eyes are now a bit sticky. It's so annoying to have, does anyone have any solutions to help it for now?!

I have EXACTLY the same thing and the doctors can't seem to come up with any solution! I'm the same age and they watered randomly about once a year but this year they have not stopped for nearly 5 months now. I do have days when they don't and I forget and then bam! It's so frustrating and I've tried every drop and hayfever tablet, there are days when I can walk through gale force winds and nothing will happen and other days when I can be sat in a cool dry room and one will start, it's normally my left but the right one sometimes joins in, someone help please x

I can totally relate! I am 15 years old and have suffered with watering eyes for around 18 months. I use to love wearing eye liner and other eye make up and I can't wear any of it, I feel like it has ruined my life and do get quite depressed about it. My self confidence has fallen dramatically. Been to the doctors repeated times and they blame it on hayfever, yet my eyes water all year round! It is ridiculous. And definitely effects my school work, sometimes my eyes water so much I can't see or if not I'm distracted in lesson cos I'm constanstly wiping my eyes. In the winter I tend to get red marks all around my eyes and my eyes can swell up, it can be very painful. :( Wouldn't wish it on anyone.

i am 24 years old, i have had a problem since i was 11 with my eyes watering all the time. and i have black bags round my eyes. i wish this would go away. it is so embarrassing when i am out and i need to wipe my eyes all the time. please help.
